I AM TALKING ABOUT EVIL.
Long before the age of humanity was even a flicker of life upon the scales of time, the world belonged to them. The ones that walked the earth in blood and shadow, carving a ruinous wasteland between sky and sea, and across desert and ice. It was as if they had risen up from the very depths of hell itself. Creatures of savagery and slaughter, driven only by primal instinct and an insatiable thirst to consume all that lay in their path: åøč”鬼. Vampires.Ā
For aeons, the world was the dominion of vampires. Time bowed before their hegemony. Yet even eternity could not conquer time forever. As one epoch eroded into the next, a lesser form of barely intelligent beasts evolved that could do the one thing that vampires could not: reproduce. As the centuries passed, homo sapiens began to proliferate. Their populations swelled and grew, a ravenous infestation starving to make their own mark upon the world. Soon, they outnumbered the vampires a hundredfold. A thousandfold. Humanity grew bold and bloodthirsty, becoming as monstrous as their savage predecessors. The hunters became the hunted, and they drove vampires to the point of extinction.
Vampires fled from the world they had once held in the palm of their fist. They scattered to the farthest corners of the earth, vanishing into shadow and secrecy. In the east, the vampires sought sanctuary in Hokuei. Isolated, they were wolves slipping into the impenetrable guises of lambs, learning to coexist, unseen, amongst their natural prey. Their only weapon against the insurmountable rise of their enemy was a sacred artefact known as the Moon Decanter. A reliquary that granted any vampire who drank from it the ability to create vampire life.
The Great Vampire Houses of Hokuei plunged themselves into an endless war over the decanter, slaughtering each other until their numbers dwindled to annihilation once more. Decimated, ravaged, and facing permanent eradication, the Leaders of the five Great Houses were left with no choice but to broker a ceasefire. The lasting peace that arose from their sacred pact was sealed on a battlefield of moonlight and ash.Ā

In the fourth decade of peace, the Moon Decanter disappeared. And with it, the leader of the House of Moth. In a single, brazen act of treachery, the traitor had shattered a thousand-year pact.Ā His head was found on the marble steps of the vampire council, eyes missing and his tongue cut out. He had left a mystery for all to unravel.Ā In the midst of his enigmatic death, the vampires of Hokuei knew only one thing:Ā their last salvation was gone.
Without the sacred blood of the moon, vampirekind would descend into extinction once more. If the human government of Hokuei were to discover the truth they would be exterminated. Ancient feuds between the Five Great Houses have reemerged, and peace hangs on by a ravaged, splintered thread. As war dawns on a horizon, there is hope to be had as well. An opportunity for vampires to do what they could never have before.Ā It was time to retrieve holy grail:Ā FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE, ONLY TIME WOULD TELL.
IT BLOOMS. IT EATS. IT GRINS.
