Having another member of Atlas here. In normal times, alchemist would certainly keep to their own, even inside Atlas. It was an extremely lonely way of conducting one's work, but Sion wouldn't think of it this way until today.

But, maybe because at this point she had witnessed how Chaldea acted, she had become a bit infected by them, so she was feeling a bit of happiness to find someone she felt reminded her of home.

Could it finally be her time?

"I am dedicating the majority of my calculations into optimizing our chances of survival, you can be assured I will make sure we will get out of this with our lives." in her own way, the alchemist was trying to reassure the homunculus girl.

But in regard to the worthiness of it all, the serious acting girl didn't have a clear answer, she wanted to survive in order to still have a chance at restoring the Eltnam name, and that wasn't something she had to ponder before, she just decided to do it. She didn't know what would drive this girl in particular.
