Welcome to my blog! I'll be posting mostly my drawings from my Deviantart account along with some shoops. I'm not an artist in any shape, but I still enjoy doing it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that headcanons Reg is not having an athletic body. Like yeah in game he can sprint crazy fast if RPE route in ITA was any indicator, and his ability to hold Henry with one hand, but man his personality doesn't come across as fit. More like a brains over brawn guy that masterminds behind the scenes.
So I live over in good old Washington, not the capital the State. I drive an old hybrid car. Main reason being I don't want to spend money on gas because we have some of the most expensive gas prices in the country (among other stupidly high prices). To add to that our state government is pushing hard to get people to go on electric over gas for the environment, remember this tidbit this is important later.
So like everyone else every year I have to renew my car tabs. Understandable. Now, would you like to take a guess on how much it costs to renew my car tabs? $40? $60? How about $89?
How about $328
Take a good notice of the second and third from the top. Two different taxes for having a car that uses electricity. In total tacks on $225 to my car tab renewal.
Transportation Electrification is basically for adding more resources for electric vehicles are available. Aka charging stations in public, that you still have to pay to use. About $18 or so. The kicker is that this tax only applies to hybrids. Not full electric vehicles, not gas vehicles, hybrids. Note that we not only have to pay for electricity to charge, but also have to still use gas from time to time to keep the engine up. We pay for both already.
The Electric Vehicle Registration Renewal is setup so Uncle Sam still gets money from cars that don't buy gas as much. I really thought I was being smart getting a hybrid to avoid gas prices. It's funny because I don't even drive that much to really warrant this.
Remember up above how Washington is trying to curb gas cars and encourage electric cars? Here's the thing: Washington is the fifth most expensive state to live in. We already have a 10% sales tax on everything, the average rent is about $2k, we have fucking separate taxes on soda/bottled water that stack on other taxes, and since we have one of the highest minimum wages in the country and keep increasing it, it increases the cost of everything else.
Why the hell would people want to transition to electric just to get a bunch of shit fees tacked on to keep their car legal while putting up with everything else? This whole thing is counterintuitive and grinds my gears.
soooo embarrassing to get obsessed w a specific character when no one else gives a damn. like yeah heres post #574934. heres au idea #26482. heres art piece #9383. yes its all about the same person, yes i am rambling in the corner blair witch style. feel free to shoot me dead for this btw
Can you stop trying to push your shitty AI search tool to me? I've lost track on how many times I've declined it only to see that shitty popup invade my browser window a few searches later.
Carol Cross: Pyrite, symbolizing protection of assets and wealth generation. Initially I had trouble finding a gem that matches her personality until I read on the wiki that she's "the Clan's loan shark". This was news to me so I looked deeper. They got that idea from a scene in the SBO path where she's threatening the hell out of another Toppat who owes her or the clan money. Now I know why they say not to cross her.
Speaking of which...
Stu Pendles: Black Onyx, which can symbolize responsibility and self discipline. Brother, of all the people you borrow money from you chose Carol freaking Cross. You're going to need all the financial responsibility you can get. I know the symbolism is ironic but man...
If Terrance truly is the one who carried Henry, I can only imagine him initially hiding it from Wilford because he doesn't want his husband to leave him, especially with a child, because 1) Let's be honest you don't marry someone of the same gender expecting to expect a child, at least not a biological kid that is, and 2) What if Wilford thinks that Terrance is somehow secretly an inhuman monster because of the pregnancy? It's not exactly considered normal or even possible for men to get pregnant, what if Wilford no longer sees Terrance as a person because of that? And 3) Continuing off of that last point, What if Wilford tries to hurt him and/or the baby, thinking it will keep the clan safe? Would Terrance even be mentally able to fight back if that happens?
When in reality, Wilford's biggest concerns would be; A) How the actual hell Terrance managed to get pregnant, and B) As a man, can Terry even survive giving birth, and C) How the H E L L are THEY supposed to raise a child correctly Oh God OH f u c k he needs to buy an entire library of parenting books IMMEDIATELY-
Lol you nailed it on the head. In many of my AUs Terrence typically plays by different rules than most, for better or for worse. Whether it's him not being human or something else. He's seen and experienced things. Maddening things. The sort of things that you can't tell others without them going mad or turning on you. It's why he hides the truth from everyone else including his own husband.
"Better to be seen as weird or foolish than to be feared."
And then he got pregnant. With his track record he should've seen this coming. And the little guy looked so much like Wilford, couldn't lie that he adopted the baby. Wilford knows that Terrence isn't FTM, so couldn't use that as an explanation either. All the previous shenanigans he could bullshit his way out of, but not this. And that scared him. Would this be the straw that broke the camel's back?
Terrence's mind raced to the worst case scenarios. Wilford finally hitting his breaking point and wanting nothing more to do with him. The Clan finally starting to question how, or what Terrence even was. How he'd walk the halls of the airship with his child in tow feeling eyes on him no matter where he went. Would they kick him and his child out of the clan? Would they just kill them? Would they...would they....
.....
When Wilford learned about Henry, his son, the first thing that came out of his mouth was "Terrence I swear to god I didn't cheat on you I don't know how the hell this happened". After hesitantly explaining that Henry was his and Wilford's son, Wilford dragged Terrence and Henry to the medbay to get this straightened out.
After two positive paternity tests, a check up for Terrence to make sure he was okay, and a guide for raising a child, Terrence and Wilford sat in silence while Henry slept soundly in Terrence's arms.
Terrence broke the silence first, "Wilford, look, I know this is weird-"
"How is this possible? You're a guy. You didn't even show any signs. No bump, no nothing. Then suddenly you give birth?" Wilford asked incredulously.
Terrence's breath hitched, his heart beating faster. He tried to find words, something to explain this, anything. What could he say that didn't open up a can of worms? He focused so hard on trying to find something to say he didn't notice Wilford sat down beside him and gently wrapped an arm around Terrence.
"Easy Terry, breathe," Wilford said softly. Of all the years they've known each other Wilford had never seen his husband like this. Terrence took a slow shaky breath, trying not to wake Henry.
He sighed, "I'm sorry. I don't know if I can explain this. I know, I'm not normal. Not by a damn mile. I...I just...," Terrence stopped mid sentence. He couldn't bring himself to finish his train of thought. Thankfully he didn't have to.
"Terrence I'm just happy that you're alright for god's sake," Wilford said concerned. "Yeah I don't get how this is even happening right now, but it is. Just tell me that you're okay, that's all I care about right now."
While Wilford was understandably surprised, he looked to be taking it fairly well. Despite the insanity Wilford still cared for him. Terrence felt a huge weight had been lifted off of him. He nodded slowly.
Wilford stood up with a small smile, "Good, you and Henry get some rest. Now if you excuse me I gotta go grab some stuff. Think the Copperbottoms would have any parenting books left over?"
Terrence smiled wryly, "Considering how Reg turned out, I wouldn't count on those books being any good."
I've been in both Pokemon and Digimon fandoms and it is so on point, but I can't really blame Pokemon for not being as diverse as Digimon in its evolutions.
TLDR: Pokemon and Digimon have completely opposite origin concepts: nature (Pokemon) vs artificial (Digimon)
Pokemon keeps its evolutions usually consistent because the idea is these are living organic beings part of the natural world. Yes there will be some oddities mixed in but for the most part, it's supposed to be somewhat "believable".
Digimon on the other hand, it knows what it is and plays it straight. Digital monsters. Code. And code can be written and changed however the coder damn pleases. "Fuck your realism I want a giant demonic winged centaur with a human mouth where its junk could be."
It's like comparing a real life bear to Banjo from Banjo Kazooie and wondering "why doesn't the real bear have pants?"
In a scenario where Wilford either survived whatever happened to him and only just got back to Terrance or was brought back to life, how would he react to suddenly being a father?
More importantly, how would he react to being the father of Henry Stickmin?
First off I'd like to apologize for not answering for a while. Life has been throwing curve ball after curve ball at me right now. I had planned on answering with two drawings but that will have to wait.
I've had some ideas of Wilford being Henry's biological father. I kinda draw them with similar features lol. Like either Wilford was married to Terrence's sister/another Toppat and had Henry, or Terrence himself had Henry (much to Wilford's bewilderment he's 80% sure Terrence doesn't have the equipment to carry a pregnancy).
If he comes back while Henry is still a baby or a child, he tries his best to be the father Henry needs him to be, but struggles a lot. Wilford never saw himself as being good with kids. Being a leader once again doesn't help. Thankfully the Toppat Clan acts as a big family when it comes to raising kids. And Terrence has no qualm stepping down from his role to be with Henry more.
Now, if Wilford came back after the events of THSC, great googly moogly he's in for a ride. Like try to see it from his perspective: the son he never knew he had is not only a world class thief, but also either the Toppat Clan's current chief or the Toppat Clan's greatest op with little in between. And then there's Terrence who raised Henry outside the clan. Wilford doesn't know whether to thank him or smack him.
If you couldn't guess, I like the latter a lot more 😈
-----------------------------
Wilford: "Terrence what the hell did you do?! You made Henry into a mini you!"
Terrence: "You're welcome"
----------------------------
Henry showing his gem collection: "Hey pops what do you think?"
Wilford: "Not bad kiddo. Reminds me of my early years in the clan. Did Terrence tell you how I stole this giant ruby-why the fuck is it in the corner of your room and not in the airship?!"
@capturecharlesau Initially I was planning on only doing Toppats, but since you asked...
Charles: Malachite. Was going to go with Emerald but I felt the symbolism didn't match up enough. Malachite symbolizes healing, growth, and positive change. Now answer me this: when in THSC does Henry start having the option to change and be a better person? When he works with Charles in ITA. Charles is the first time Henry gets a friend in the series and it shows. A guy that's willing to treat Henry as an equal, cracking jokes, making sure he's safe (with varying success).
Macbeth: Coal. Besides the connection with trains, coal represents strength, grit, and energy. Macbeth is a pretty tough elite that runs an entire division around trains and transportation of goods. And then there's his temper. Calm but serious until you stop taking him seriously, then like a single spark to a coal pile he ignites.
Whelp this is going to be a thing now lol. Continuing with gem/metal connection to Toppats we have Sven and Burt.
Sven: I feel lapis lazuli fits him pretty well. Lapis contains golden specks inside it. In a previous post I made a connection between Reginald's gold and leadership, so a gem with gold spots representing a just starting leader/protégé seems perfect.
Burt: Aluminum. Aluminum, like Burt, looks common and valueless on the surface. In reality, aluminum is an incredibly useful metal, especially when developing parts for computers and other machines. Burt plays an integral part in the protection of the Toppat Space Station, as its head of communications and computer skills. He's the one that ensures Reginald's command to fire Supreme Dominance goes through, he's the one that detected Henry getting close to the space station, he's the one that alerted Reginald that the launch grounds were under attack....
I'll probably continue these, does anyone want to see a specific Toppat in particular?
You know what'd be neat? What gems/metals are Toppats connected to?
Reginald: Not even a question it's gold. Solid gold. This is a man that struts around wearing a solid gold chain with an S/$ sign. Gold represents wealth, royalty and success.
RHM: Amethyst. One because the Among Us crossover had his color as purple, but also because amethyst represents protection and power.
