Thomas laughed with him. It had been a long time since he had last seen Atticus. Since then, it seemed a lot of bad things had happened to Thomas’s friend, which was quite disheartening to him. He was more than happy to see him laugh, especially since Thomas can imagine Atticus had certainly not done so enough. Especially since Atticus was more antisocial than most people he had met. He was more than glad to see that, despite everything, Atticus truly hadn’t changed all that much from the first time they had met and became friends. “No can do.” He replied with a laugh as Atticus joked with him. “Oh yes, the kind of stories all children long to tell their children. ‘I remember when my father used to make things for me. I would have splinters all over my arse because of it.’” He said with a laugh as he ran his hand through his hair. “You have forgotten that I cannot quite have children.” he said with a smile. “So, it seems that you will be the only one between us who’s kids shall be complaining. Then again, I suppose I could always count Cynthia and she could complain about my parenting.” he said with a laugh as they kept walking. “Well, there goes my plans for dragging you to a strip club slash bar.” He joked. “Alright then, since that is out of the question. What about the pizza place around the corner from here?”
Atticus rolled his eyes at his friend’s sarcasm even thought was nothing new. If he wasn’t with his daughter, or in public for that matter, he would’ve growled or flashed his sharp fangs, like he did when they were younger, but it stood to show that they were in public and his daughter is currently in his arms. He only laughed more when Thomas quoted what his kids and their kids would likely say in the future, since it was highly likely to happen in the future. Well, hopefully his daughter wouldn’t be having kids anytime soon, or even within the next twenty years. She has to go to college. Oh god he’s already sounding like the father of a teenager and the little pup in his arms can barely speak, let alone flirt. “I didn’t forget, I was hinting more towards you adopting. Surely the fact you can’t physically have kids doesn’t stop you from wanting them.” He said, as if things were that simple, though in Atticus’ eyes they really were. “Though, if we’re talking about kids, your first concern should be finding a nice lady. Human or vamp, all of those girls must be all over you like they were years ago, right?” Atticus asked, using his free hand to elbow his friend jokingly. Rolling his eyes, once again, at his friend’s lame joke, the werewolf adjusted his daughter so that she could reach the collar of his shirt, something she really wanted to play with for some reason. “Pizza sounds good, he’s a big fan of cheese.”
