It was unwise, he knew, to push Morgana back, but at her touch did he lift his hands to do so, one hand grabbing a hold of the woman’s forearm as he moved, brows furrowing with frustration. “They concern me more than you think, but you have no idea how I felt!” He yelled, shoving her arm away as though it had burned him.
“You… You don’t know, Morgana! You don’t know how much I hated myself for the idea of having to kill you at the time! You were my friend, but you were going to be the death of everyone. It was the only way I could see, so I chose the path, and right about now, I wish I hadn’t given Morgause the name of the poison so she could cure you.
You killed innocent people, so if you are to blame me for that, then you should remember all the people you killed. You were quite happy to leave me to the Serkets when Morgause tied me up and left me to die. You tried killing me personally on several times; you were very determined. So you are just as much at fault and abuse that word just as much as I do.”
Morgana furrowed her brows excessively when she saw Merlin grip her and throw her back, how dare he! How dare he lay a finger on her! Had he no idea of the power she possessed? She lifted her hand to throw him against a tree when he started speaking, and in the temper of her mind she forgot about her magic to growl a reply.
"I tried killing you because you tried to kill me!" She shouted in annoyance at him. "Did you really think I was going to forget that Merlin? That you poisoned me and left me to die?" She couldn't understand his judgement. "If I do not kill you, you will kill me and I cannot let that happen." She frowned. "For there would be greater loss to the world if a high priestess was killed would there not, than a simple manservant?" She smirked.
"If you were to kill me, then you would have been condemning yourself to a world without magic; for someone like me to have to live in fear- you know as well as I magic will never be allowed as long as Arthur sits upon my throne!" She confessed. "But you wouldn't understand what it was like." She muttered. "To live in fear, to be afraid of yourself and every move you make, knowing you can never be yourself without being killed!" She yelled.
"But no more shall I live in fear Merlin, I've wasted too much time already." She spoke seriously now, showing her white teeth in a ominous glance. "I will kill Arthur Pendragon, and if that means killing you in the process, so be it." She snarled. "You can either stand beside me Merlin or lay a lifeless body on this ground- the choice is yours." She could barely believe she was giving Merlin a chance, but it felt the right thing to do, despite if the answer was something she didn't want to hear. If you feel so wrongly about trying to take my life- then you walk with me now, you walk with me to Camelot and standby what I do and I will forgive all our past quarrels." She explained. "But if you don't, then I will take no mercy upon you Merlin, I am giving you but one chance."
