The lead swapped 46 times during the 2011 Le Mans race. Apparently no one wanted it. So we took it—and kept it. 

What’s it like to steer an #LM24 racecar? It's like shoulder pressing 40 lbs. while riding a horse. For each of their four-hour #LM24 stints, Audi Sport drivers’ hearts run at 90% max—for the whole time. Drivers can lose over 2 gallons of sweat during a 4hr stint at #LM24. Water: the key to life—and winning. Inhale—lateral g-forces can crush your lungs if you don’t hold your breath through #LM24 corners—exhale. Le Mans corners expose drivers to shuttle launch-esque g-forces, or about 3.5 G. "Apollo R18" sounds decent. 

#LM24 vehicles create 115db of noise. Stand in front of a speaker at a metal concert to get the gist.

200mph is the general speed on Mulsanne Straight at #LM24—that's almost a football field every second.

The youngest driver to enter the #LM24 was 16 years old, and the oldest was 68. It's never too early—or late.

For those who don’t already know, the Le Mans race is pronounced lə mɑ̃, not lemons. #LeMansNotLemons The 2014 Le Mans-winning AudiR18 completed 3,363 mi, or 71 million lemons laid end-to-end. General admission to Le Mans costs around $100—the same price as 227 lemons in France. Temps inside LM24 racecars can reach 140°F—enough heat to bake lemon curd. Drivers can up lose to 12 gallons of sweat during LM24. That equals 12 gallons of lemonade. 150 ingredients go into a Le Mans racing tire, and not one of them is lemons.
