introduction

it occurred to me today during class to make an introduction post. i like to make online friends because i am very much a loner in real life, and how do i expect to do that without any info about me on my blog? so without further ado,

hi! i’m august (not my real name). here’s some facts about me:

i’m 20 years old (a leo)

my pronouns are she/her

i’m bisexual and out!

i’m in my second to last semester of college, studying biology

i’m from the u.s.

i’m a small fanfic author by the name of august_88 on ao3 with three published fics and so many unfinished ones stored somewhere

music is my entire life. i’m a huge abba fan, but my music taste is very wide—i like 70s, 80s, 90s soft and hard rock like david bowie, fleetwood mac, and mötley crüe, taylor swift, olivia rodrigo, noah kahan, sabrina carpenter, miley cyrus, glitterfox, various showtunes, chappell roan, paramore, harry styles, andrew mcmahon, bleachers, i’m dabbling in kpop. really just name it and i’ll give it a listen!

i am very into the marauders fandom, but some others i really enjoy are throne of glass and the elder scrolls series. i primarily post about marauders, but you may see some tog and tes here and there

i am a lily evans kin through and through

i like anime, but am very new in the community. some of my favorites so far have been attack on titan, demon slayer, sakamoto days, and jjk

i’ve had this blog for a while, but really started posting on it around the time i finished my first fanfic: sweet child o’ mine. i mainly started it to post about my writing journey, and i know of only a few who’ve followed me for sweet child o’ mine, but i love you all very much <3

writing is my passion. it isn’t what i want to do for a living because 1) i have no desire to make money off of it. i do it strictly because i love doing it and it’s helped me through the some hard times, and 2) my biggest fear is my real identity becoming known in any way, shape, or form haha. so i write fanfics and original books (none of which have been finished) in my free time anonymously because it’s fun, though i am working for a biology degree in my real life to (hopefully) do something with plants, but in this economy, i’ll take what i can get

so yeah! i don’t know many people on here yet, but i’d love to know some more! <3

sometimes i get really caught up with the feeling like i need all the fics i write to be Perfect and it needs to Resonate with Everyone and there needs to be No Mistakes but it’s like, girl, you’re writing it all for free. because you want to. it’s really not that serious

"So what happened this time?"

Faye inhaled deeply, flicking her gaze to her and staring at her for a moment, debating whether it was even worth the energy to talk about it. She supposed she should--it was Lindsay who said if she just got it over with she could move on from the topic, wasn't it? She wondered if she was even still here, or if the universe thought having anyone even remotely familiar for Faye when she got back from foster families was plausible. On the exhale, she responded, "I had a down day."

Ms. Lorraine shook her head faintly. "You really need to get those under control."

Faye closed her eyes, tiredly. "I'm trying," she said, and the way her voice faltered made her want to crawl into a hole.

it's here!! i didn't plan for the prequel to be almost as long as sweet child o' mine. whoops. it's also extremely laughable that i was originally planning on putting all of faye's backstory into one chapter. what was i thinking
