Hello it's me again

I have news albeit late on delivery, I have hit another oc with the intersex beam and her name is laila smith :)

She has NCAH (with hirsutism, clitoromegaly and vulvar hypospadias. Not to mention heavy and irregular periods) however in the past whenever she tried to get any sort of answers laila was often misdiagnosed with pmos much in similar ways other's have been and it's still very frustrating for her to say the very least. If she was introduced to the term she would called herself extersex to loved ones but for the most part she identifies as a woman

Anywho she's funnily enough the first human oc I made and I adore her a lot, I'll share a bit of her story because she's a mostly private oc is she's just a lady who's trying to readjust to a peaceful life in a little town after dealing years with a previous stalker (her ex-boyfriend to make things worse) and also happened to met and now healing with a guy™ (aka pookie's blorbo) who's also traumatized for different reasons. She also has a strange but well meaning neighbor called greg, greg is the #1 grey alien believer and also believes in cryptids and he may or may not run a blog dedicated to that/hang out in spaces for those

Also fun fact: laila has color grapheme synesthesia and she can see letters + numbers in color and thinks everyone else can as well. She also has a photo of her and her late best friend in a frame somewhere in her house

hell yeas. big fan of the synesthesia. also a big fan that she gets the beam of Victim Of Systemic Intersexism hashtag relatable. yassss do research and have the moment of realization that you've have NCAH this entire time and it was brushed off as PMOS yaaasssss use extersex to dip ur toes into the water and eventually commit fully to the intersex label !!

If anyone has any experience with it, advice, whatever - please let me know! I'm weirdly nervous?? But sort of excited.

how many of y'all who experience menstruation have irregular periods? bc I thought it was Super Weird™ that I only have one every couple months at best (hadn't had one for a year until this past October, actually) but I keep seeing people posting about not having them regularly? this is an open thread/invitation for chats/asks for irregular period talk; I'm genuinely curious.

Suirei from The Apothecary Diaries is intersex and transgender AFAB using she/her and he/him pronouns, and her variation is 5alpha-Reductase Deficiency (5ARD) with a voice change (link), tall stature, micromastia, amenorrhea, and a shallow vagina!

The requester elaborates: “ In the series, Suirei disguises herself as a eunuch: the maids in the rear palace think she's especially handsome and she becomes well known for her beauty, probably because of her softer features — but despite that, no one ever questions her being a man or even remarks once that she looks "womanly" (which was more likely for plot reasons, but it's still worth noting that Jinshi is also very handsome and his beauty is compared to a woman's many times). Upon the reveal that the "new character" is actually the ex-lady-in-waiting Suirei, the protagonist Maomao pieces the puzzle together by recalling that Suirei has a "deep voice for a woman" and is "tall for a woman, shorter than an average man." Kind of in an "of course, who else could pull this off?" way.

I think her noncofornminity [sic] was another one of the things her step-mother was cruel about and tormented her for. I conclude that the step-mother thought she was masculine and not fit to be a proper lady, from the fact that she didn't flip out at her when she saw her wearing "men's" clothes, even though she really cares about appearances; and because Suirei dressed up in the rear palace, I imagine that the step-mom only cared about it then because it would make her step-sister look bad.

As for the gender situation. Despite not needing to play a eunuch anymore, Suirei is never again seen wearing makeup, jewerly or dresses, and instead keeps wearing "manly" clothing — both outside and inside! He seems quite comfortable in them and another character even notes how the new look suits her. (She does tell him to shut up, but it's more in a cool "don't compliment or tease me, 9 year old" way rather than an embarassed "I don't looking like this" [sic] way, as she doesn't get flustered or annoyed). It seems her having to play a man was coincidentally a great excuse to subtly transition into presenting in a way that's more comfortable for her. Suirei seems to prefer simpler and more androgynous ways of presenting himself.

I headcanon that he uses both she/her and he/him pronouns, that is to say, he doesn't mind either; he doesn't seem to care whether people percieve him as a man or a woman, and doesn't seem to mind presenting himself in either traditionally masculine or feminine ways. However, she does seem to default to a more masculine mode when given the chance. Thus, I think the only way she can be labelled is transgender, with no other specification. Me when I'm goated in ancient China. ”

Me: Oh this is neat! I’m not intersex but I’d like to learn what all this means. I’m going to Google “PMOS” because it’s in one of these posts!

Me (guy with acne problems, irregular periods, family history of diabetes, and lots of body hair): Oh. I see. :) this may be something to look into someday.

Tuca Toucan from Tuca & Bertie is canonically intersex-coded, likely with a variation such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)! This is due to the fact she experiences menorrhagia, using her turning into a werewolf (particularly growing hair) in a scene as a metaphor for her period, and a whole episode is dedicated to removing an unspecified growth from her ovary. She is also canonically multisexual, showing interest and hooking up with numerous men & women.
