I have it in my head, that So'lek has some kind of PTSD when it comes to Tamtey and distance.
Anytime this man has been away from her during what's supposed to be times of celebration or peace something ALWAYS happens to her and it's ALWAYS because of the RDA.
During the party in the main game, Alma takes Tamtey to the roof with the boys and what happens? Mercer "crashes" the party and kidnaps Tamtey.
When they go to the Great Plains for the migration and the games, he goes with Nesim, to continue competing and leaves Tamtey to do her own thing and what happens? Oh yeah, a Valkerie happens and she gets hurt, twice, and is then unconscious for days.
When she then goes to the Spires. She's shot out of the sky by some fucker named Billy Bob Bruce and his Valkerie. She is then also out for what looks like a few hours to possibly a whole day.
AND THEN, when the Wind Traders show up and he's there to finally be able to say: "hold up, I'm going with you" after she volunteers to go scouting, what ends up happening? Oh yeah, the Fucking RDA show up WITH the Mangkwan, of all people, who, then, proceed to kidnap baby girl Tamtey and bomb him ass.
Like, life really saw him doing what he could to be with her during that time and was like, "y'know what would suck? Tamtey still getting kidnapped." Granted life had to throw the Mangkwan into the loop to make it possible but still.
now, I think that anytime, after all that, when he hears that she's off on her own in a completely new region with possible RDA presence this man is immediately concerned and is already packing his shit to at least be in the region if not on his way there for when and if something happens.
