This is my cat posting, writing, and art blog!

Fun facts:

-My kitty's name is Aurelia (no, it does not rhyme with bedelia, that's just a reference to the Amelia Bedelia books). She is 5 years old, calico/tabby, and a feisty baby. Her name comes from the scientific name of the moon jellyfish, Aurelia aurita.

-I crochet and will post some of my projects here. I take commissions and you can find me @lucas.loops.crochet on Instagram :)

-I am neurodivergent <3

-I am an aspiring writer with an interest in design. I am currently working on a novel called Funeral Clothes that follows an autistic woman who comes home for her father’s funeral and uncovers secrets that challenge what she thought she knew about her family. I actually now have a literary agent :0

You know, it's pretty clear that there's enough people globally that support liberation that this is actually feasible. Not just for Palestine, but for everyone.

There are enough people to really grind the whole world to an effective standstill. Even with extreme and violent repression from occupying forces.

I think the tipping point may actually be real.

I got caught up in life changes (graduating grad school, moving, new job) and it's been a while since I posted here! Aurelia update!

I scrolled down and thought this was a photograph of a painting sitting behind some candles. Not until I scrolled back up did I realise that the candles are part of the painting.

It’s a painting of a painting that was damaged by fire in the past and had the bottom burned away… being lit by candles that look like they could do the same thing. What’s more, it uses shadows to craft more of the illusion of it being a photograph by having dim areas be less focused and detailed. This is truly a series of delightful visual twists.

Thank you! I mean to be fair I overshot - this is the first time I measured it, so it's several inches taller than me.

Yep to both! Not... entirely sure how I'm going to accomplish that in a tiny apartment, but we'll see. I thought I was going to finish out the repeat and do my border, but after wrapping it around me I think it needs one more repeat. That'll put it at 11 repeats of 32 rows each, plus a 6 row border on each end. I don't think blocking it will make it any taller, just a bit wider. It's got a really cool 3D effect going on with the feathers that I don't want to destroy.
