The Outer Worlds will never get off the ground in terms of having a legitimate fandom because the only people willing to play it are either so uneducated that they think the player character not being voiced makes it a shitty game, or they’re so pretentious and stuck up from their years of bitching about how bad all the fallout games are that they think a game being sold for money diminishes its narrative value somehow.
Obsidian, completely ignoring TOW2 including any good marketing, updates, dlc news and fan-base engagement, while coddling Grounded: "Why did tow2 underperform? Do you guys not want this game?? then fine! no more outer worlds for you!"
I love the Zerocalcare animated shows on Netflix so so much but I can't bring myself to watch the new one yet because I've been so depressed lately and I know it'll hit far too close to home, just like they always do
like I know it won't happen but I think it'd be pretty sick if Baduhenna ends up in God of War: Laufey as an ally for Laufey
I wish immigrating to the Netherlands was easier :(
I just wanna go back to my grandparents homeland lol
I'm so serious we need another one piece x monhun collab but for wilds and/or stories asap
My Strawhat inspired armor sets (so far. Have to wait for the summer festival event to do Luffy, Franky and Brook and get some specific trade materials for Zoro)

No hate to Vicar Max or his fans but being in this fandom really is just scrolling through post after post about him, maybe occasionally interspersed with discussion and fanart and if you're lucky, a post appreciating one of the other companions (probably Felix or Parvati)
Reading use reviews of Outer Worlds 2 reminds me that most gamers deserve the god awful triple A slop that inundates the market. We can't have meaningful gameplay experiences because the moment they encounter friction they lose their mind

One thing I find fascinating about The Outer Worlds is the character of Zora Blackwood, and how she interacts with the conflict in the center of the Iconoclasts <Moderate midgame spoilers ahead>
The player is introduced to her as one of the two Iconoclast leaders, where she argues with Graham. The main conflict within the Iconoclasts is presented at this point: Graham is focused on spreading the Iconoclast's message, while Zora is focused on maintaining the community's supplies. In the first quest the player receives from them, they get to make a choice in this, choosing either to help spread the message or get more supplies for the Iconoclasts.
What I really found interesting is what happened when it's revealed that Graham sent their best hunters to secure a printing press rather than supplies. Having become a little jaded to CRPGs dumping no-win scenarios on the player, I expected some justification for this. But, if the player asks why they couldn't have gone for the supplies first and the press later, Zora explicitly says that he could've done that, but Graham had completely lost sight of practical matters.
Another interesting thing is that she's the one that advocates for attacking Stellar Bay for its resources - straight-up saying that it's out of desperation - but she's also the one of the two leader's that's actually willing to compromise with Sanjar. Furthermore, out of the two leaders, even if there isn't a compromise, she's the leader that provides a better outcome for the Iconoclasts in the long term.
But despite her willingness to attack Stellar Bay, she's not totally ruthless; she objects to Graham allowing pirates to massacre civilians. She tries to convince him to step down, but when he doesn't, she kills him. She says afterwards "Killing never feels good, but this time, it feels especially wrong".
All in all, it paints the picture of a woman with an interesting mix of practicality, justice, and compassion. She focuses on supplies because that's what people need. She attacks out of desperation. She challenges Sanjar on his previous cooperation with Graham, but she can be convinced to look past it. She has strong ideals, but also a willingness to compromise.
Also, her scar looks sick as hell.
I like that Outer Worlds gives you no take backsies for murder. Sure, nobody gives a shit about you killing marauders and outlaws in self defense but if you start shooting guards or bystanders you don't then get to just stroll back into town and pay off your bounty like you would in your Skyrims or your Red Dead Redemptions. You show your face around that faction again and it is kill on sight. You had quests to hand in there? Too fucking bad, Terry the Farmhand who hired you to clear out local monster nests isn't about to pay you and send you on your way with a pat on the back after you went on a murderous rampage, he's gonna pull a gun. Understandably so too. Don't go murdering people, idiot.
It's always been a really stupid complaint to me that Outer Worlds has very black and white morality because, like... Outer Worlds is just presenting the system as it exists but dialed up a notch for satirical purposes. I'm sorry but the problem with wanting nuanced morally ambiguous depictions of late stage corporate capitalism is that the morality of it is actually entirely cut and dried. The doomed, dystopian reality of Halcyon is exactly the future the many real life Chairman Rockwells of the world dream of inflicting on you every single night with throbbing erections in hand.
I still barely touched the outer worlds 2 and I want to play it but with the knowledge that we won't be getting another game, I think I subconsciously don't want to finish it because once the dlc is out and I finish that too, that'll be it.
No more outer worlds to experience. And I think I'm trying to delay that feeling as much as possible lol
if you play as the prince in MHS3 you get gay moments with simon. if you play as the princess in MHS3 you get gay moments with eleanor. we've finally attained true equality
Finding out Ogden was married during his story vs finding out he's actually divorced and has no interest in getting back with his ex wife
