The enclave facilities in 76 are the oldest in-text source I can find related to the enclave creating deathclaws, but I swear to god I remember one of the 3d games having a loading blurb that at least confirmed they were created pre-war. Though personally I wouldn’t count the manuals completely out, they’re the whole reason why pip-boys are wrist mounted now.
I also vividly recall having a conversation with a guy who claimed deathclaws didn’t have horns until the master altered them, but I can’t find a source for that either.
I've heard the thing about the loading screen thing a few times but I've never seen it and I can't find it on any site that catalogues the load screens for the 3d games. I know the Master says he refined the deathclaws with FEV but he's not very specific on that point. The Bible is also wishy washy about specifics on what types of mutants are FEV mutants.
There was always an air of mystery about these creatures origins in the beginning. I know from watching Tim Cain's videos he deliberately didn't want the Deathclaw's to have a cut and dry origin.
I don't disagree with any sort of retroactive canonicity of some documents I'm just personally not interested in them when it comes to personal interpretations of the text. Especially when so much of it has been just as easily ignored/abandoned in favor of modern creatives interpretations of the setting.

The concept of "end game" is a scam to get you to bang your head against a wall after exhausting the core progression of a game. It's always built around exhausting loops of gameplay that end up tiring the player anyways. Theoretically you can play some of this shit forever but nobody does/wants to. Now we build games where the core is a superfluous prologue that keeps you from the "end game" that's a mind numbing carousel.
"Congratulations! You've finished the main quest, now the real game begins: farming bosses until you puke or until the new patch drops!"

Is there any in game dialogue or terminal entry in Fallout that states with *certainty* that deathclaws were created by the Enclave? I've played every entry (sans Shelter) and haven't seen it. The only info I can find comes from the Fallout 2 guide, the Bible and Demon in the Snow. The first two I don't consider relevant so that makes the television show the first time they're (almost) explicitly connected to the enclave? Despite asking multiple people they just point to wikis which regurgitate the same source. The fucking Strategy Guide. It seems like the creators deliberately left it a bit vague in the games to create a little mystery.

I saw someone say they were disappointed the big monster of the Resident Evil film (2002) was a licker and not a tyrant. But, like, am I out of line for saying I think the licker is a far more iconic and interesting monster design than the tyrant? It's def my favorite monster in the series by far.
