Perhaps everyoneâs made her out to be more important to me than she ever was.
He was angry, she tells herself. He was speaking loosely and heâs confused. Who wouldnât be in his situation? She would probably think the same if she were in Jonâs shoes. Besides, Jon did not know she was outside. If he had known, he would not have said it like that.
None of it helps because deep down she has been wondering the same. She was always the sister he loved the least, the one he probably never thought about when they were apart.
Sheâs still a silly girl who gives herself too much self-importance.
read chapter 4 here
I think what truly gets me about the asoiaf fandom is how so many readers treat Sansa like she only exists to be a contrast to Arya, or childhood antagonist to Jon (lol), or way for Tyrion/Sandor to show his virtue (again, lol), or plot device for Petyr to evil monologue to. 5 books in and itâs still like fighting tooth and nail for some fans to acknowledge Sansa is a character with her own story and the Sansa who gets held captive and dies, died in the og outline. Some people I have to believe read her chapters with their eyes closed because theyâd rather believe sheâll die a convenient death so they donât have to consider her in their oh so serious âââtheoriesâââ.
Women's hair in GOT
do u think littlefinger and jorah mormont are meant to have parallels between them? like wrt how they treat sansa & dany resp. cuz they both do a lot of projecting but i feel like mormont is more in denial
oh yes absolutely...both littlefinger and jorah are incredibly manipulative with dany and sansa by winning their trust as "friends"/"mentors"/"father figures" before "making their move", although littlefinger seems a lot more intentional with this. dany very much thinks of jorah as a father figure and takes comfort in this (I wrote a post a little while ago about how she uses similar language when talking about jorah and willem darry), while littlefinger literally disguises sansa as his daughter while naming her "alayne" after both catelyn and his own mother. super creepy but definitely more intentional on his part, like a fantasy where he gets to simultaneously roleplay sansa being catelyn and sansa being his daughter with catelyn.
also both jorah and littlefinger compare dany and sansa to women they previously loved, with jorah saying that dany looks like his second wife and littlefinger constantly comparing sansa to catelyn. and then ofc there's the gross kiss that they both force on dany and sansa during moments of vulnerability and innocence (dany getting dressed while talking excitedly about sailing to astapor so that she can finally go back "home" to westeros vs sansa building a snow castle of winterfell out of grief/nostalgia for her lost childhood).
and then my final comparison is both jorah and littlefinger's insistence on addressing dany and sansa as "child" when speaking to them (even though dany tells jorah early on that she's not a child, and he continues calling her this until the end of agot), which is especially odd because you think they'd want to imagine these little girls as older and therefore more "acceptable" to lust after? but also maybe that's just part of the appeal for them, especially littlefinger he's also into the idea of sansa being his daughter.
I think in general theyâre just preying on dany and sansaâs lack of parental guidance/trust in adults and filling in as a father figure until neither of these young girls can imagine their lives without these older men who so graciously swooped in to âsaveâ them (same with sansa and dontos, which is made pretty explicit through his constant florian and jonquil comparisons). think of danyâs grief/guilt/longing/confusion over jorah after she sends him away, or of sansa thinking how lost sheâd be if she didnât have littlefinger to protect her. grooming 101.

you're laughing. emerald fennell, a rich white woman, is adapting wuthering heights into a solely-for-shock-value film and ignoring all of the books themes on racism, cycles of abuse, and class. and casting heathcliff as a white man when he should be dark skinned. and casting edgar linton, the rich white man who holds immense privilege over heathcliff, as a man of color. this woman is racist and can't tackle class dynamics for shit but you're laughing
