can't.  won't.  they  are  so  similar  and  yet  so  different  that  he  can't  bring  himself  to  think  of  the  difference.  can't  implies  he  wants  to.  that  deep  down,  he  wants  daisy  to  crawl  into  his  skin  and  make  him  forget  everything  that  once  felt  wrong.  the  gateway  drug  to  get  that  high  he  sometimes  miss  so  much.  it  should  be  easy  to  say  he  won't  and  move  on.  leave.  return  tomorrow  like  nothing  happened  and  just  keep  the  facade.

 billy  is  tired  of  the  pretense.  it  all  crumbles  underh  is  fingertips.  mouth  hangs  open  but  he  can't  bring  himself  to  tell  her  what  she  wanted  to  hear  (  he  is  not  that  strong  ),  he  can  lie  to  her  through  everythingelse  and  fight  her  on  every  corner  but  not  this.  ".  .  .you  know  i  can't  say  that."  he  tries.  tries  to  tell  himself  and  everyone  else  who  assumes  there  is  something  between  them  but  he  can't  lie  and  say  it's  pretense.  that  it's  an  act.  eyes  locked  to  her  own  and  they  soften  for  a  brief  moment.

 "i  want  to  lose  myself  in  you.  but  it's  dangerous."  she  is.  he  is.  they  could  turn  the  stage  ablaze  and  where  would  they  be  in  twenty  years?

striking matches is how one starts fires, and for daisy, billy was a matchstick pressed firmly against the pad, pre-strike, and ready to burn her alive. the fact that he couldn't even tell her to go only made her feel more like a powder keg. a burning fire, already lit by his match; englufing flames burning wild.

the lingering feeling of his calloused flesh on her cheek merited a hum from her parted lips; she wanted him to divulge in his desire. she wanted him to know she felt the same. "danger is something i'm not afraid of."

daisy was lying. she was more scared in that moment that he would turn and force her away than she'd been scared of anything in her life. lust overtaking her senses, her lips boldy clash with his once more, desperately seeking their return. she wasn't going to give up that easily. she'd completely forgotten their argument and wanted to get lost in him. the drops of poison that would give her, her fix.

     a  chuckle  fell  from  the  crimson  haired  gal’s  lips  upon  julia’s  remark.  she  certainly  understood  the  feeling. 

     “i  can  definitely  sympathize  with  that.”  she  remarked  taking  a  long  sip  of  her  coffee.  it’s  days  like  these  that  she  missed  booze  the  most.  too  much  information  was  swirling  in  her  head  at  once.  “i  guess  some  things  never  change,  do  they?”  daisy  was  speaking  in  full  reference  to  a  lie  that  billy  had  spewed  to  julia.  she  could  only  imagine  the  swirl  of  thoughts  the  younger  girl  must’ve  had,  listening  to  eight  different  sides  of   the  story. . .  but  billy’s  was  the  one  with  the  most  fibs.  “whenever  you  want  the  actual  truth,  you  know  where  i  am  always,  jules.”

reason  tells  him  to  stop.  by  all  means,  he  has  to  walk  away,  spending  time  with  daisy  is  so  easy  until  it  isn’t.  they  act  like  friends  and  play  on  each  other  so  well,  make  each  other  better  until  the  pressure  of  all  is  too  much.  they  always  end  up  going  down  one  road  with  the  fights  and  clashing  heads  because  the  alternative  is  just  too  dangerous.

 like  right  now,  when  eyes  briefly  open  to  stare  back  at  her  and  he  sees  the  danger  in  her  smirk.  and  then  his  lips  feel  her  own  again  and  billy  has  to  breathe  in  to  take  into  the  moment.  push  it  into  his  memory  and  hope  that  it’s  enough.  despite  himself,  hunger  overcomes  him  for  a  moment,  like  an  addict  in  search  of  their  latest  kick.  

he  welcomes  her  every  touch  until  it  feels  like  too  much.  his  chest  rises,  up  and  down  and  all  over.  "you  know  we  can’t  do  this.“  i  can’t  do  this.  i  have  to  be  good.  adam’s  apple  swallows  hard  as  eyes  close  for  a  moment,  almost  in  pain.

    guilt  should’ve  eaten  her  alive  ,  and  yet  she  has  no  regards  for  how  this  could  ultimately   effect  him .  anger ,  hunger ,  fear , daisy  feels  like  if  she  lets  go  ,  her   oxygen  would   deplete  from  all  of  the  emotions  swelling  within  her  as  his  lips  ghosted  over  hers  with  his  words  .  . .   and   yet  she  releases  him  anyways  .  

   his  words  pierced  her  heart  like  the  cool  blade  of   a  dagger  ,  a  snake spitting  venom  at  it’s  pray .  “you  can’t  or  you  won’t ?”   her  words  are  full  of  anger  and  exasperation  .  all  she  wants  is   him .   

     she  moves  closer  to  him  then  ,  arms  no  longer  encircling  his  frame  by  his  shoulders  .  her  face  is mere  inches  from  his  ,  and  yet  they  are  not  touching  —  and  it  burns  .  “tell  me  honestly  that  you  don’t  want  this;  and  i’ll  walk  away  right   now.”  she  yearned  for  him  to  keep  her  there .  for  her  to  have  a  reason  to  stay.

there  is  always  an  argument  and  there  is  always  a  fight.  they  clash  so  easily  when  they  are  talking  about  music  just  as  easy  as  they  fall  into  a  known  dance.  they  end  up  laughing  and  giggling  together  like  he  is  back  in  high  school  but  most  days,  it's  like  this.  a  fire  that  threatens  to  burn  them  both.  god  forbid,  they  can't  seem  to  get  it  right  on  the  first  go  and  it  seems  god  just  makes  them  fight  for  the  hell  of  it.  

breathing  in  and  out,  hard,  almost  chest  to  chest  as  his  head  leans  down  as  they  talk.  he  isn't  sure  what  the  fight  is  about  anymore  (  verse,  verse,  chorus,  bridge  had  been  on  his  mind  and  apparently  she  doesn't  like  that  ).  but  there  is  a  moment  in  which  they  both  fall  quiet  noticing  the  closeness.  the  temptation,  the  forbidden  fruit.  he  is  ready  to  back  down  in  order  to  remain  at  a  safe  distance  but  her  touch  burns  when  hands  pull  him  by  the  strab  of  his  guitar  and  over,  mouth  crashing  into  a  wild  dance  of  mouths.  he  tenses  and  eases,  hands  coming  in  instantly  to  hold  her  tightly  by  her  neck,  deepening  the  kiss,  lost  in  the  moment  and  the  feeling.

 it  burns  and  it  drags  him  down  and  he  wants  it  all.  reality  crashes  down  as  he  gathers  some  strength,  grip  tight  on  her  shoulders.  "what  are  we  doing,  daisy."

     confusion  ,  anger  ,  lust  ,  passion  —  all  of  that  swells  around  daisy  and  makes  her  feel  like  she’s  gasping  for  air  ,  clutching  to  the  very  fiber  of  oxygen  that  she  can  get  her  hands  on.    her  weakness  is  imminent  ,  and  she  wishes  she  was  better  at  masking  in  front  of  him  .  billy  makes  her  skin  burn.      the  dance  they’ve  begun  is  too  sweet  for  loathsome  surrender  .  her   lips  brisk  firmly   against  his  ,  she  feels  lost  in   him  for   the  moments  he  allows  it  .  daisy  had  forgotten  what  they  were  even  arguing  over  .  his  question  prompted  a  coy  smirk  to  rise  to  her  lips.  the  real  answer  is  that  she  had  no  clue  what  they  were  doing  .  but  she  didn’t  want  it  to  end  .        “i  don’t  know  .  .  .“  desperation  peaks  as   she  hungrily  closes  the  distance  between  their  lips  once  more  ,   entangling  each  of  their  vessels  in  a  dance  of  tongues  and  passion  .  if  he  could  just  allow  that   moment  to  last.
