there’s a wince invading jacob’s face, forcing his soft features into a state of curled anxiety. he doesn’t mean to compare trauma ( he knows better than that, of course ) but he it’s not hard to see that theseus had suffered more than him - more than most people who had been there. he had watched her die in front of him. ‘ i’m sorry. ‘ he hadn’t wanted to SAY it, a part of him recoiled when a near - stranger repeated the same phrase to him after the passing of a relative, but the words were slipping from his mouth before he could stop them. ‘ i suppose that’s all you can ask for. to try. i suppose i don’t really understand how some parts of the wizarding world work, though. ‘
