“I crossed a line that should never have been crossed,” the ex-counselor told the court.
A now-fired counselor at an elite Ohio Catholic boys’ school fought back tears as she was sentenced to prison after admitting to having sex with a student — saying she had already lost her husband, home, and friends over her disgraceful behavior.
Emily Nutley, 43, had asked to stay free on probation after admitting sex with the 17-year-old student — but was left with tears in her eyes Tuesday as a judge sentenced her to three years in prison, video by WLWT showed.
The married mom had told the judge that there was “no excuse” for her depraved behavior, which included sex with the vulnerable teen in her office at their prestigious Jesuit school in Cincinnati, where she was supposed to help the most at-risk students.
“I crossed a line that should never have been crossed,” Nutley said during sentencing at Hamilton County Court.
“I think every day about the impact of my actions. I’ve lost my husband, my home, my friends. I’ve caused harm and embarrassment to my children,” said the mom, whose husband filed for divorce soon after the scandal broke.
Nutley had sex with the student multiple times, including in her office at St. Xavier High School, according to court documents obtained by WLWT.
She threatened to kill herself if the boy ended the relationship, her victim said, as he described the abuse that took place during the fall 2023 semester.
Nutley’s husband, Jonathan, filed for divorce just weeks after she was fired in October last year when the student came forward.
It emerged in court that Nutley had exchanged nudes with the student and gave him a monthly allowance, as well as answers to an upcoming test.
She “preyed on the most defenseless person she could find,” prosecutors said in pre-sentencing documents seeking at least a five-year prison term.
She was described as a “broken woman” battling mental health and substance abuse issues by a doctor hired by her defense to examine her.
Nutley, however, made clear she did not expect forgiveness. “I have not earned it.”
Her victim had sought a 10-year sentence for his abuser, saying it forever changed his life.
“When the abuse started, I didn’t know I was being taken advantage of,” the victim said in a statement read out in court by Elyse Deters, the assistant prosecutor on the case.
“She would not leave me alone. She told me she would kill herself if I ended it. Even at sporting events, people yell her name at me.”
Nutley had pleaded guilty in April to two counts of sexual battery, each a third-degree felony.
On top of her three-year prison sentence, Nutley was ordered to serve probation for five years following her release.
She will also have to register as a Tier III sex offender every 90 days for the rest of her life.
Yeah people don't like the world how it was made. I won't lie I got caught up in the whole acceptance nonsense they put it out but God guided me. Being homophobic is better than being a sinner right? What fandoms are you into?
Just whatever catches my interests. Also you can DM me instead of sending Asks.
It all started with a small spark a spark that forever changed Luz life forever. A spark that set off the fire works leading to a fire in her school. Luz no longer had to go to Reality Check Summer Camp but it would have been kinder then her new destination. Luz spent 2 years in juvie while her mother had to shoulder the lawsuits made against Luz.
On her first night Luz gets a harsh case of reality check. Her bunkmates made her life miserable. It's made worse when they mercilessly burn or shred the Good Witch Azura in front of her laughing at her.
Two years later Luz exits Juvie a changed girl. The town sees Luz as a danger to society and Luz is now an official outcast. For all intents and purposes this was now just Luz in name only. She hates magic because it never was there to solve her problems, she hates people because they never let her forget what she did, and she hates her mom for letting the pigs send her in with the other bad kids.
It wasn't until Luz meets the boiling isles refugees King and Vee that ger life turns around. Luz enters the boiling isles to find a place of chaos and destruction under the rule of Belos while trying to reunite the orphans with their mother the Owl Lady.
But is Luz the hero the isles need or is she only looking out for herself? Tell me what you all think.
Hey what would it take to make Yang a villain in Volume 6 through 8 and Ruby the hero.
For context Ruby told Ironwood the truth and agreed it needed to be kept hidden for now. Yang was against it and constantly brings it up.
Yang later tells the Happy Huntress and Ruby lashes out at Yang for it. Yang lashes out at Ruby for not listening and Ruby pulls rank on Yang. Yang and Ruby are drifting apart until something pushes Yang over the edge.
Hmm. Maybe a Roleswap AU of the Atlas arc where Yang and (presumably) Blake essentially swap roles with Ironwood as the ones who lose faith in the protagonists and turn against them to try and "save everyone" on their own terms. Meanwhile, Ironwood and his forces stay united with Ruby, JNR and Ozpin's side due to Ruby coming clean to Ironwood from the start and this version of her reaching out and getting through to him instead of stupidly letting everyone push him away to his breaking point.
The ingredients for Yang to turn are already there: for all of canon's narcissistic protagonist-centred hypocrisy and refusal to acknowledge it, RWBY/JNR including Yang and Blake are just as guilty of having a "holier than thou," "I know better than everyone else what's best" mindset as the show tried to make Ironwood out as bad for having, plus Bumbleby went behind everyone else's backs to tell Robyn about Amity, and in V9 Bumbleby were the worst two of the bunch (IMO) about making excuses for their fuckups and ignoring the consequences.
Also, that moment in V8 where the show desperately tried to convince the audience that Ironwood was always a bad guy by having him rant about how no-one's grateful to him amid the deteriorating situation? I can 100% see Atlas-era Yang having a moment just like that if most of her friends and allies break apart from her and she doubles down.
Perhaps the breaking point which drives Yang and possibly Blake to turn away from the others is the same one that broke Ironwood in canon: when Salem's projection appears after Watts' defeat. Because Yang in this timeline already feels isolated from her sister and most of her friends except (maybe) for her codependent girlfriend by then due to them disagreeing with her actions and taking Ironwood's side over hers on dilemmas like the Salem-secret and Amity plans during Volume 7. And then Salem's spooky little show via the Grimm, the weight of knowing what's coming, mixed with Yang's pride and stubborness - plus her seeing Ruby breaking down at Salem's mention of Summer, which, as much as Yang shares Ruby's pain at Salem's revelation, probably also gives voice to a thought at the back of Yang's head telling her, "Ruby doesn't have what it takes to sort this shit out" - makes her decide she can only do this herself despite a couple people trying to talk her out of it. (I like to imagine that in this version of the Salem-seer scene, Salem wouldn't really say anything that gives her thoughts on the matter away but she would cast a certain, almost disappointed look at Ironwood, and then later she'd cast a different, more interested look at Bumbleby like she's thinking, "Hmm, it's a shame they were smart enough to get through to Ironwood at the last before he could crack... but I can still work with this blonde girl and her pet causing them to divide themselves instead.")
Beyond that point, with Ironwood and the Ace-Ops still on the same side as Ruby, JNR and their non-rogue remaining allies, things in V8 might go a bit smoother, although I imagine Yang and whoever joined her rogue party would still be a thorn in their side, and the heroes might be able to find a comparatively better way to save as much of Atlas-Mantle as possible at the end of V8 than what the canon Team RWBY did in V8.
So imagine this Ruby is still trying to get through to Yang. Yang wants to kill Cinder anf Ruby wants Cinder to be given a fair trial because it will display stability which eventually ends with Yang in her rage shooting Ruby. Ruby is about to drop and Yang catches her where she has her final moment of conflict. Ruby her sister or Blake her love interest.
Ruby begs Yang not to do it and I'm a true D16 fashion Ruby makes her choice.
Yang: I'm done following you. (Drops Ruby)
Ruby falls and Yang goes and takes the Fall Maiden Power from Cinder by ripping her in two while making sure Cinder is looking Yang in the face. As for Ruby she meets the blacksmith earlier them expected and is given a gift to even the playing fields.
Ruby returns and she and Yang duke it out until Ruby wins. Ruby tells Yang to leave and take her followers with her and orders her to never come back. Yang vows she'll get revenge and leaves with Blake and those who followed her madness.
Jaune forged transcripts was exposed and he became a villain. Unfortunately he's unsympathetic because he used the fact Pyrrha exposed him to justify his life falling apart and the evil deeds he performs like a narcissistic asshole.
This basically sounds like canon except for Pyrrha turning him in lol
What if Luz was given a different story that wasn't the Good Witch Azura. Hypothetically speaking what of Luz was given a VRMMORPG like [The World] from Dot Hack? Or maybe some other game to play on her escapism views.
Hey can someone help me find this old voltron fic?
Its a Voltron Legendary Defender fanfic and It's premise is that Allura was somewhat awake while she was in cryo sleep for 12k years living in a basic virtual reality unaware of what's happening outside. Keith appears in that world because of the whole thing that he can sense the lions and they became a couple while there.
