I can’t find it but there was this one Holloduke fanfic where Duke had a not so positive reaction to gaining all of his memories back and finding out that Holloway was all the previous people he had felt like he lost, lashing out and saying that she ruined his life. And that idea is just…so peak to me. Because while we’d all love to imagine an AU where Duke was overjoyed to be able to learn that Holloway was the same woman he kept falling for over and over again, him having a reasonable crash out is interesting to think about.

Imagine having your memories erased multiple times, thinking that the person you loved was gone and mourning them over and over again, only to found out it was all the same person who was there the entire time. And not only did they get to selfishly keep THEIR memories of you but they were the one who erased your memory in the first place. And on top of that, you STILL don’t know who they are or why they did what they did. Yeah I’d tweak out too. 😬

When people characterize Holloway as being so irrational and irritable. When people characterize Holloway as snarky and full of herself. When people characterize Holloway as someone who lashes out and is emotionally unavailable. When people characterize Holloway as toxic. When people characterize Holloway as someone who hates herself so much for her flaws but she still stubbornly sticks to them. When people who characterize Holloway as someone who helps people but also is lowkey not a good person.

As much as I love NPMD, unpopular opinion alert but….seeing people talk about its nuance is making me want to reveal that I think had Grace and Max’s stories been the main focus instead of Pete and Steph’s romance, it would have been better, specifically Grace. I like Pete and Steph but on a writing level they’re…fine…….they’re cute and nothing else really. But Grace? She’s much more deep and has so much with her going on as a character, that’s why people have written essays about her. Mind you, Grace is the one who’s responsible for everything, the one who drives the story forward because she’s always taking action. This is how I felt with Abstinence Camp as well, I’m like “oh yeah the romance plot for Steph and Pete is fine but man Grace is 10x more interesting than both of them combined”. Grace is just so wild and out there as a written character that she outshines them in terms of writing, and I wanted to say this because I’m wondering if anyone else feels the same lol.

And I want to make it clear, I’m not saying “yeah NPMD should have been rewritten entirely”, I’m just sharing that….Grace and Max solo Steph and Pete as characters unfortunately lol. This is why I can’t wait for Devil’s Night (like even tho it seems like Tim is at the forefront of that one I’m BEGGING it’s also about Grace herself) and I also hope Max gets a nightmare time episode in the future.

Nah. Actually I need more people to talk about Becky Barnes.

She buys toys for the sick children at her job. She works as a nurse. At a hospital for kids. The entire town ignored the clear and obvious signs of physical abuse she was suffering FOR YEARS and did nothing about it. She has no real connections to anyone because her husband beat the shit out of anyone she ever talked to and herself if she tried to form them.

One day, when she finally fought back, he grabbed a fucking KNIFE to put an end to it.

To save her own life, she stabbed her husband in the fucking throat in the middle of the witchwoods and walked out of there alive and free with blood on her hands.

And she went back to work at the same job he forced her to take because the kids there needed her. She went back to living in the same town that still refused to see her for who she was and what she had gone through.

They all believed he left her and instead of pity, assume she did something to drive him off.

Meanwhile she does not regret what she did. In fact, she secretly hopes he died out there in those woods. As alone as he made her feel.

Absolutely insane to me that a character like this exists and that she's so rarely mentioned in this fandom.

Okay I know we’re all hype for Miss Holloween and Glam and the Pentagrams but let’s not overshadow Fancyland because omg I’m SO excited for that project. Hearing both the premise and the demo songs they’ve revealed, it sounds like it’s going to be the most unique Starkid show, bc I was getting such classical musical theater vibes like Stephen Sondheim and Disney. And hearing that this will be the most tragic and saddest show? Oh I’m hooked, like yes give me a show about a guy who’s beloved but actually sucks in real life and is tearing his family apart. Also….Corey Dorris or James Tolbert as Jack would eat, just sayin.

I need Glam to suck as a person at the start of her musical. Her ego has been massively inflated by fame. I want her to be a little mean to the Starlets before they die. Framing herself as the centre of it all. I want people who have seen the NMT episodes to wonder how this could possibly be the same person who becomes Miss Holloway. And then I want the 'how' to make so, so much sense.
