Exploring Eridian’s biology. Most of it are taken from the book, but I want to add to it :)
My headcanons:
-Rocky and Adrian had kids before Rocky went away. They are now in their (human equivalent) 20s.
-Adrian and Rocky used to be around the same age, now Adrian is MUCH older.
-Baby Eridians are called pebbles (like baby goats are called kids). Yes, this is all Grace doing.
-Eridan’s eggs are like geode.
-Eridian’s eggs (canonically) are laid together when mate and then merge. I however, also think that they would usually go for two at a time for protection (they can watch each other sleep as they get older).
-Rocky name his two new pebbles after Grace and the Hail Mary.
-I’m not a geologist and very much not knowledgeable about rock, but I believe that the green/blue we see Eridians have (movie ver) could be caused by the various level of metal element on their rock layer, like copper and bronze, interacting with the elements over time (Verdigris).
-Baby Eridians are smooth rock. As Eridians grow, they became sharper and more complex looking, caused both by natural aging and external elements.
-Most elder Eridians are green/blue since it’s a form of rusting, kind of like human with grey hair.
love how so much of the phm fandom is very adamant about “yes rocky is endearing but do NOT forget that he is not grace’s little pet. he is a 200+ year old married supergenius alien engineer. he was literally smart enough to be sent on a mission to save his planet, help discover and create a method of communication with a completely alien species, and work WITH said species to find the reason his planet is dying and create the solution to saving it. stop babying him.” and everyone pretty much agrees
simultaneously, grace IS rocky and adrian’s pet and that’s 100% canon basically
Human Grace finds out that Eridian Grace grows and gets heavier very fast
Having a lot of feelings about Ryland “you don’t even have a dog” Grace to beloved Uncle Grace pipeline.
you cant just say that man
This man took so much longer to crack than I would have what a PROFESSIONAL
Plotting, scheming, etc.
This was filmed at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which rescues, rehabilitates, and releases orphaned elephants in Kenya (among other conservation efforts). Charity Navigator has given it a 4/4 star rating, and you can make donations here or “adopt” a baby elephant here.
We lost one of the greats today. I grew up loving Catherine O'Hara in the Home Alone movies and Beetlejuice. Her humor has always been one of a kind. I adored her as Moira Rose in Schitt's Creek.
She was absolutely brilliant. RIP
I have waited ALL FUCKING YEAR TO POST THIS

every person can feel freddie’s presence in their souls when they sing MAMAAAAAA UUHHHH, I DONT WANNA DIE, I SOMETIMES I WISH I’VE NEVER BEEN BORN AT ALL with all the air in their lungs i’m not joking
it’s fucking crazy to think about the amount of people who have sung bohemian rhapsody? like it’s such a unifying song, by nature of the fact that so many people know it. it holds so many good memories for me and other people. it’s a song you scream in the car with your friends while you drive around your boring hometown, it’s a song you drunkenly sing with your arm around your best friend, or a song you sing along to with strangers when it’s on in public. it’s bittersweet to think about freddie’s legacy carrying on like that through his masterpiece. freddie carries on because he’s a part of so many people’s good memories and bohemian rhapsody is a huge part of that.
Reblog if you have sung bohemian rhapsody with your friends
every time i see this post i’m reminded of the video of 65,000 people singing bohemian rhapsody in near-perfect harmony
like, what other song can make that claim?
Some of the highlights of that video include:
The crowd cheering after the first stanza when they realize what they’re all doing
So many people audibly ‘doing the guitar parts’… like ya do
The sheer number of voices joining the rediculous falsetto (thanks, Roger)
How they all start jumping at the ramp-up “so you think you can stomp me”
Hands up, hundreds, thousands deep for the final “ooooo”s and the last line to close the song
Only days before my state went into lockdown, “Bohemian Rhapsody” came on in the restaurant kitchen I’d just been hired at and, no shit, every single worker in that little diner started singing along. Me (the only queer afaik), the manager, all the other kitchen workers, the dishwasher up front, the two people on the counter, all but two of the men over 30. Just belting out Freddie Mercury at the top of their lungs. And you can bet when “sometimes I wish I’d never been born at all” came around, we every single one of us ramped up the intensity and basically made sure Freddie could hear us in the afterlife.
Superman (2025) persuasively sells you on something most other recent superhero movies don't, which is that a world with Superman is better off in meaningful ways than a world without.
It would fucking suck to live in the Marvel Universe as a non-superhero. You can identify with the protagonists, you can fantasize about being Tony Stark or whoever, but if you think about the civilians in those movies, the randos killed by the robot or sucked into the portal, it's hard to see the existence of superheroes as a net positive. They mostly seem to clean up problems that wouldn't have occurred in the first place without their egos and mistakes. Superman has a different emphasis though. The fantasy isn't just about having superpowers yourself, but about what if the natural disaster equivalent only did property damage, what if military aggression could be stopped in its tracks without a single civilian casualty, what if the evillest people in the world actually got their comeuppance.
It really meets the moment. I think a lot of us are wishing someone with power would do Literally Anything for the public good.
imagine youve had superpowers since you were a kid which make you nearly indestructible so that only giant alien monsters or special rocks could cause you pain until you meet this fucking dog with the same powers as you and hes cute but hes rowdy and he loves to jump on you and push you and drag you around and it hurts so bad but you cant get rid of him because he belongs to your cousin who grew up on a planet with a red sun so shes used to feeling pain and loves it when the dog gets rowdy with her so you have to put up with this fucking dog who keeps jumping at you and ow ow ow krypto stop ow krypto please ow krypto
I absolutely adore how normal Clark's parents looked so normal. I realize the ideal of them is a strong farmer and his wife and that might be a beautiful older woman and her sturdy handsome husband. Nothing wrong with that. But Martha and Jonathan Kent in this movie were the kind of older couple I'd see at the grocery store in my own small-town. The kind of people at the community hall and auction grounds picking up hay bales for the cattle.
They were warm and just so normal it almost surprises you. They also don't resemble Clark at all which I think is important in driving home the fact that they aren't his biological parents. He stands out amongst them it's so clear he's different and special even. And my god do they love him.
The way they call for him and sit on a rusty bench outside the creaky screen door. That feels like home to me having grown up on the prairies. How authentic they feel only grounds Clark even more. It feels less like a dream or idea of a perfect farm family and is more two people who tried their best and will bake apple pie with calloused hands full of love
This Superman is such a sweetie. He’s kind to the robots. He makes his girlfriend breakfast for dinner. He pretends he doesn’t care what social media thinks of him but gets genuinely upset over juvenile name calling. He tortured a despot with a cactus but the spines “weren’t that big.” He tries to capture the giant monster alive. He loves people and does his best to help them and he’s not an idiot he knows people are complicated, but he’s genuinely heartbroken when they turn on him. The idea of him having a harem is utterly ridiculous. He loses it over a pain-in-the-ass dog. He makes fun of the despot for pissing his pants. He wept at seeing an innocent man murdered. His open devastation over Mali’s murder is part of what brings Metamorpho to take the risk of helping him. He saves that weird baby. He saves a squirrel. He not only would not fuck his clone, he killed him. He makes that shithead Lex cry. His flirting with Lois is so swagless and unsubtle that her boss immediately clocks that they’re together. He loves his parents. He’s good all the way down, not because he was born that way but because he chooses to be.
One of the great triumphs of David Coronswet’s Clark is that Superman looks strong and wise and compassionate and friendly but also put-together and competent, meanwhile his Clark Kent looks like someone who would staple his tie to the desk but you’re not sure whether he did it by accident or intentionally to make you laugh
