“He Tian looks like he would be mean in bed,” Jian Yi comments to Guan Shan one day. Half joking, half not. Guan Shan chews on the statement for a bit, way past the point of being embarrassed by such a statement. 

“He’s not,” Guan Shan denies simply. 

In fact he’s the opposite, he’s infuriatingly kind. Caring with gentle whispers of  “are you alright?’ and “is this okay?”. Gentle in the way that even when he tries to bruise he soothes the heat with kisses in the aftermath. Lovely as he breathes achingly sweet compliments onto Guan Shan’s skin. And he’s warm, so impossibly warm when he clings onto Guan Shan afterwards, holding him like he never wants to let go. 

“He’s not,” Guan Shan repeats strongly when Jian Yi looks at him in disbelief. 

Jian Yi gives him a look that questions him for more but Guan Shan doesn’t elaborate because some things are just for himself.

Nichelle Nichols’s impact can not be overstated.

She was the first black woman to go to space on tv (and her impact on representation on TV should also not be understated) but she also campaigned for NASA applications of diverse voices. Her campaign led to the recruitment of Sally Ride (first American woman in space), col. Guion Bluford (first black astronaut in NASA), and Mae Jeminson (first black woman in space).

Without her personal recruitment campaign (which she threatened to sue NASA if she put her reputation on the line to bring in these applications if they then did not go on to hire any of them) who knows how much longer it would have taken to get anyone other than a white man as a NASA astronaut.

Decided to google ancient Roman medicine for some reason, and I'm losing it at the guy who's treatment for every ailment involved some form of cabbage
