“Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Oh please, you’re the one stuck in dreamland.” She crossed her arms. “People could’ve died in the time you’re shouting random words. One second makes a difference Owain. You shouting for a minute doing nothing can cause many people to die! Focused? Why not look at the battlefield and think of how many people could be safe!”

She certainly wasn’t cutting him any slack on the harsh words; trust Severa to make a man feel miserable about his entire life choices. “S-Severa?” No really, why was she so snippy today? Had he done anything recently? “I know it was a bit of a close call in the last battle, but his sword only scratched my arm a bit. As long as no one gets hurt, isn’t it okay...?”

Sumia was a bit surprised by the initial outburst before she simply smiled and let Owain go on with his little rant. It was always adorable to hear the children expressing themselves, even if they were around the same age, all because they were so different. Once Owain stepped in and saw what she was doing, however, his outburst quickly changed into one of concern.

She wasn’t exactly sure what she was doing wrong, but she held the sword out to him. “I was simply cleaning them! I think… unless I’m doing this very wrong…”

Overlooking the sword carefully, she couldn’t tell what was wrong with it, but… Owain clearly thought something was. It certainly seemed clean enough… though, swords weren’t the type of weapon she tended to use. Perhaps it was wrong to assume the blade was the same with lances and swords…

“They’re incredibly shiny now, at least! That’s good… right?”

Through his friendship with Cynthia, Owain had always known Sumia a bit better than some of his other fellow warrior’s parents -- at least he could remember her being around until the day where she no longer returned from battle, which also stood very clear in his memory because of how heartbroken his friend had been. Naturally he knew of her nature to be a bit of a klutz, but it had never really got in the way... until now.

He was horrified to say the least. As a man of the sword, the myrmidon lived and breathed to take adequate care of his weapon and make sure it would last him through combat for many years to come. He was one of the best maintenance people in the entire camp and prided himself with that title.

“Give me the sword! There might still be hope!” he ordered, grabbing the weapon from her hand and carefully let a finger run over the cold steel. As expected the coating was all but gone from Sumia’s thorough ‘care’ and he mentally groaned. “It’s shiny yes. But a sword isn’t supposed to be shiny. You’ve practically removed the protective coating to keep it from rusting. Is there an oiling or waxing kit anywhere in this storehouse?”

          ;; He stared on with amusement in his eyes, a snicker of a laugh escaping his smirked lips. To think they actually believed they could defeat him? Or hurt him for that matter?- H a h, how wrong they were. But why kill them right away when he could l a g it on and make them feel even more useless? Now that’s where the true fun came in.

        ;; Yellow eyes glanced upon the silver blade, watching the light reflect off it’s surface and onto the surroundings. He playfully stood there, ideas running through that maniacal mind of his; overly acting by tapping his chin. 

“Depending on your answer, I may have to take action accordingly. You have been warned.“ 

         ;; “Oh, is that so? I feel so scared.”  He replied in a mocking tone. And just like that he moved with inhuman speed, snapping up his mother and appearing right where he stood before; while holding a knife up to her neck. “And….what were you warning me of? Hm?”

         ;; He laughed as he pressed the knife closer, expecting her to make some sort of noise while being careful not to hurt her seriously; cause he didn’t plan to hurt her now…no…he had a better idea for her;  l a t e r.

“Owain, what’re you-?!” Lissa protested as her son gently forced her staff down and took the defensive in front of her. “No…no, Owain…I want to protect you…” she whispered, trembling in fear, hand clutching at the staff even harder, knuckles turning white. She didn’t want to Owain to sacrifice himself for her…no, that was her job!

Swallowing hard, she watched as Owain raised her sword and pointed it unwaveringly at the lunatic before them, a part of her impressed at how suddenly her son dropped the dramatics and turned as serious as his uncle or his father when the situation called for it. Taking a breath as Owain threatened the boy, Lissa suppressed another shiver of fear as he seemed to simply laugh off her son’s warning, as though Owain was still messing around.

“Oh, is that so? I feel so scared.”

Suddenly, he moved like a blur and before Lissa or Owain could even blink, a scream of fear was ripped from her throat as she was seized without warning, her staff falling from limp fingers and clattering away from them. Shaking, Lissa stared up at her captor with wide eyes, letting out a strangled cry and shutting her eyes as the knife suddenly made a re-appearance, pressing against her throat.

‘Oh gods….’

She was trapped, with a blade against her throat and being used as leverage against her own son, her own son who who wore an expression that was a mix of terror and fury. Hissing as the blade pressed even closer against her skin, Lissa forced her eyes open again to look at Owain, swallowing as best she could without nicking herself.

“O-Owain….Run….please..”

“You bastard!” he hissed at the intruder for his mockery, but before he could even react any further, a flash of black and yellow forced its way straight past his defences and to the one person he wanted to protect the most. He couldn’t even do a thing to stop Lissa being in the madman’s clutches and for a moment Owain’s heart was full of fear -- fear that he would have to watch his mother die right in front of him again.

This wasn’t happening. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Not in this city that was famous for its peace and love. He liked to pretend he had grown stronger. That he was a hero now who could handle everything and everyone that got in his way. But in reality he was still the same powerless boy who had watched on the sidelines back then.

What sort of royal was this powerless? If it had been Lucina, surely she would have thought of something. But Owain couldn’t.

In fact very little thought ran through his mind as he rushed forward with a roar and swung down his sharpened blade at that wretched hand clutching his mother.

Skin met steel and the force of the prince swinging with his entire might made the sharp edge force its way through flesh, veins and bones until finally severing and making it out on the other side. A feeling of sickness spread within Owain at the low thud of this monster’s hand hitting the ground below, independent of its main body. He took no pleasure in cutting down a living being despite what he let on others to believe. But he had grown up knowing nothing else and would not for a second hesitate to use force if he deemed it necessary.

Grabbing his mother’s shoulder to catch her, he immediately forced back her small frame, away from the threat, only one concern filling his mind. “Mother, are you okay?!”

He remembered the people coming from the future to be claiming to be children of many of them so he was at least a bit acquainted to them although he barely knew them but this was perhaps one of the hardest to forget with his unique way to speak and a personality that even Henry had a little trouble keeping up with.]

Honestly it had surprised Owain how many familiar faces he had seen in this foreign outrealm, so by now seeing the Plegian Dark Mage wasn’t even a surprise to him. He had never really quite known how to judge the man, finding his antics strange and sometimes even hand downs creepy. Frankly he wasn’t too overjoyed to see the other here, but Henry was an ally nonetheless and naturally Owain treated his allies equally (unless they were jerks to him like some people).

“Hey, Henry, how are you doing? Curse anyone lately?” Although a smile initially spread on his face, the blonde’s demeanour soon turned to a more serious one as he continued in a dramatic voice. “My sword hand twitching cannot be summed up as mere ‘hunger issues’! It thirsts... for the blood of my enemies!”
