Monday: Platform 7’s Stumptown Kenya Pour Over

Really cool coffee store on West Broadway in Vancouver BC. This was a fantastic coffee experience.  They really put some effort into making a quality cup of coffee with timers, scales, temperatures, beakers and TLC. This cup of coffee was just slightly strong at first and then had a rich thorough flavor.

Thumb Taping for Jiu Jitsu Thumb Injury

About 3 weeks ago I was rolling with a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu and managed to get my thumb folded backwards when his weight came down on my hand.  I could tell right away that it was injured but was able to keep training and finished up 3 or 4 more rolls.

Last day of the week for Average Joe Hobbies Coffee Review! Today’s coffee is a large Americano from Black Tiger Coffee Company in Surrey BC. This is a simple but nice coffee shop. Their donuts look amazing! As far as this Americano goes it was just okay. Mild flavor overall. They call it a large but really is more like a medium especially when you compare it to other coffee stores. Rating is 6.3 out if 10... Average Joe Hobbies Coffee Review of the day! Went back to Wood N Frog Coffee shop and had their Jumbo Americano. I am really enjoying it and took this pic while I was at Archery today. This coffee starts out slightly tangy but quickly smooths out. Makes for a nice flavor. Ranking for this coffee is going to be 6.7 out of 10. www.averagejoehobbies.com

Average Joe Hobbies Coffee Review of the day is.... Starbucks Blonde Caffe Americano! I enjoyed this coffee but not as much as some of my last reviews. It has a more tangy punch to it that isn’t as smooth. Going to rate it 6.5 out of 10. Was up early this morning trying to get an Average Joe Hobbies photo of wildlife. No luck on the wildlife but couldn’t resist taking this pic of the Sun. Pictures of course don’t do it justice but the Red Color was very unusual. This is caused by the massive wild land fires we are having in BC. The grey in the sky is lingering smoke. Firefighters are working extremely hard to try and extinguish the fires. Anyone have any photography tips to share? www.averagejoehobbies.com

If you are an Average Joe like me you find pull-ups tough... I used to get down on myself about not getting many reps but changed my mindset. I now do strict pull-ups with about a minute between sets(usually 15 sets).Doesn’t matter if it is 8 pull-ups or 1 pull-ups... and guess what it feels good... Anyone have any pull-ups tips or suggestions? Jocko is a big inspiration of mine thus the pic with hand...

Just finished a little stair workout at Fred Gringell park in Delta BC. Hiking is another one of my Average Joe Hobbies and these Stairs are so good. Normally the view is terrific here but the BC Wildfires are causing a haze everywhere. Anyone else have any good stair workout areas that they go to?
