big dragons are pretty cool but they do cause this problem where it turns out they really like hunting airplanes
airline recommendations insist that it's best for pilots to just go along with whatever any nearby dragons seem to want.
This worked for a while, only resulting in many people arriving very far from their intended destinations, until smaller dragons realized that they could exploit the policy that doesn't specify a size

cuz it got wiped from the internet: transfems it's so cute to want to be cute. do what you think makes you cute, it's ok if you feel awkward that's cute too. you can be yourself, even if you don't think that's very cute, you will still be the worlds cutest girl. i love you
one of the best parts of transitioning was been the freedom to be a little silly and cute. before, if i tried to act that way, i'd get hit with a wave of disgust and self-hatred so strong i'd get a pain attack. today, i was chatting with a coworker and made a pouty face without even thinking about it, and it was so natural. i feel like a human now, i don't have to remember what emotions i am feeling to express them, they just happen.
it's wonderful. it makes me smile, and thinking about it makes me giggle.
i think a lot of alt history writers/creators have a bad habit of overemphasizing the impact of the individual, and forgetting or ignoring the momentum of the world. social, economic, political, environmental, and technological or scientific forces are all bigger than one person. People will claim that if Einstein had died in childhood we never would have discovered relativity, but ignore the fact that he was able to discover relativity because it was ripe to be discovered. Yes, he was a genius, he was incredibly smart and the world would have suffered from his loss, but someone would have figured it out, and it probably would have still been within a decade, maybe two at the most, because the larger factors that laid the groundwork for its discovery, that the problems solved and questions answered by relativity, were still in motion, in force, were still being encountered and presenting challenges that had to be addressed, and another brilliant person would have gotten there eventually. Same with economic conditions, same with any great invention or discovery, same with large scale social movements. If Henry Ford had not been born, the car would not have failed to exist, it would just exist a little differently. Climate change would not have been stopped, it would just have proceeded a little differently. It's not that things would have turned out exactly the same, not in the least! but a lot of alternate history fantasies love to say "if this person was not in the right place at the right time, the whole world would be radically and fundamentally different", and they fail to identify the larger forces at work that would have limited the impact of the individual.
i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.
this is true, but it is not bioessentialist. both cis & trans men WILL see a mouse & eat it. this is because it is in their best interest to eat mice. they benefit from eating mice. this is essential to their class position, not their biological makeup.
I feel like people who are dismissive of sports don’t realize that they’re sometimes super condescending. like, okay, you didn’t like gym class and have personal grudges against the jocks from your high school! that doesn’t mean that other people are idiots for enjoying something that, when it’s at its best, can connect you to a broader community of fans and give you a chance to appreciate the athleticism that people are capable of when they spend years honing a specific set of skills. there’s something so valuable and human about sports that gets lost when you reduce it to “sportsball” or whatever

Dragons are inherently among the most wiggly of creatures
This is partly because dragon tails are so fat and have such weight to them, that in attempting to wag a tail, the whole body is affected. So many dragons just choose to go ahead and wiggle the everything they've got
The other main reason is because whimsy is stored in the dragon

theres definitely a line of thought ive noticed in liberal circles and in media and stuff where they think that bad stuff works and is true but is just bad for some moral reason.
but the thing is that this stuff is just factually wrong. eugenics doesnt work. race science isnt true. theyre morally wrong, yes, but theyre also factually incorrect, ideas that are deployed in service of monstrous ideology despite the fact that they simply arent true.
and its a major impediment to effectively combating these ideas, because if you concede their premises, you have already given ground to your enemies.

Need a cooking or baking YouTuber to watch who's like NileRed (skilled in their specific field but otherwise clueless, overconfident due to said skills and assumes they can figure anything out through vibes and maybe a wikipedia deep dive, and therefore constantly making mistakes with basic tasks outside their field while refusing to investigate how to do them in ways that are amusing, frustrating, expensive, and dangerous) but nobody can do food the way this man does chemistry
Like I need an expert chef who wants to bake a pie and decides a convection oven is too expensive and he could totally make one himself in his kitchen with a fan and some power tools
And then he has to do it. He has to build the convection oven.
