Dean decided to play a few arcade games after the movie was over. He didnât know how to feel, mixed emotions spurred within him. Therefore, he set his mind on other matters. Being in New Orleans? He appeared to be adapting to the new environment swiftly. Besides, he felt like he needed a new start. To leave his past behind was a ginormous step that was much needed. Now, drinking would add to his good day. He walked out of the building with his mind made. A stray approached him and he averted his gaze downwards. A blank expression displayed on his visage. He just stared at the animal before someone else came into the picture.
âItâs fine, just make sure he doesnât do that too often. He could get hurt, yâknow.â He mentioned, giving the woman a once over look.Â
It wasnât a threat, Avery knew that. But the tone and well. . . the manâs word choice leeched a completely different thought in her mind. No doubt he had a rough day, every dip and crevice in his face told a different story, one pile of stress on top of the other. But she felt that wasnât enough for him to word that phrase out. Perhaps she was over-analyzing the entire situation like usual and she should just leave it at that. The dog between her arms breathed heavily, his heart thumping with such a ferocious beat that she was certain the poor thing might pass out. But logically, she reminded herself that the tiny guy just ran ten to twenty feet nonstop and just needed more oxygen to circulate throughout his body. The latter made more sense.Â
âYeah, thanks.â She replied, blue eyes slanted in curiosity. The dog was pulled a bit closer to her as she pursed her lips. âIâll definitely keep that in mind then.â
