The wife and I outdid ourselves tonight! This entire meal was almost #whole30 compliant had it not been for a half of teaspoon of honey in the homemade ketchup. What we have here are homemade turkey burgers infused with jalapeños, garlic salt, onion powder, salt, pepper. Then we tried rutabaga fries for the first time---AND THEY WERE GREAT! Season to your preference, toss with olive oil and bake. They tasted very similar to a potato fries but a little different flavor and after taste (in a good way) Way better than jicama fries (gross and never again). Thanks @cookinwithmima Made homemade ketchup for the 2nd time (googled for a Paleo recipe; choose one with cloves in it) and it turned out much better and identical to regular ketchup! Sautéed some onions and thought I'd have one with out homemade Paleo biscuits. Dinner was flavorful, spicy, and delicious! #lifeafterwhole30 #paleolifestyle #cookingcouple #wedontplayinthekitchen

Whole 30 day 21 END: RESULTS 24lbs (257-233) lost and 13 inches total across my body lost! AMAZING RESULTS in a completely healthy manner! I stayed away from non fructose naturally-occurring sugars, all grains, dairy, and beans and legumes. I have never lost this much weight this fast in my life; something is wrong with our industrialized/processed foods! I haven't been this small in weight since 8TH GRADE (I weight 2 lbs less than 8th grade)!!!! Friends and family, my journey ends here! It's not the lack of control; it's strongly affecting my workout (crazy dizzy spells after heavy weights to where I almost collapse ), my hormone levels are completely out of whack, any endurance activities seem completely out of whack, and I'm not always enjoying some of my meals, and taste (same tastes for many recipes for me personally). I tasted sugar for the first time last night French vanilla (Grove Square keurig single cup) and Apple cider from Green Mountain Naturals keurig single cup and I couldn't RECOGNIZE THE SUGARY TASTE! It was very foreign and weird.... This Whole30 journey has taught me so much, but I cannot continue to carb up on potatoes and potatoes, and MORE POTATOES! Its the only carb that was giving me decent energy that wasn't crazy expensive over time. My allergies have been practically gone compared to needing to medicate every day; including Asthma pill (Singulair). My GERD was more controlled (still needed pill), and my BP was insanely good: 111/73 HR 72! This was my weight even after throat surgery for those who may have thought that played a role; just ask my wife about New Year's Eve pigging out! It's too dull for me and I need more variety in a healthier manner still! I've learned so much from this lifestyle and I believe I can incorporate so much if it into my diet and regimen; it's will be central to my diet for fruits and mainly veggies as big parts to my side dishes. I will slowly make additions of oats, and not really sure how many other grains or dairy products right now. #whole30homies #newbeginnings #experimentingforhealth

Whole 30 Day 17 Breakfast I mixed it up a little. I have 3 over-easy eggs, nut-oatmeal (coconut milk, walnuts, pecan, and some cashews I think),some leftover slow-cooked pineapple BBQ pulled pork topped with jalapeños (to get that sweet and heat🔥🔥) not everyone's choice of breakfast; but you cannot eat bacon everyday; especially when you have so much in leftovers in pulled pork! #whole30homies #keepfighting #paleolifestyle #2weeksleft #fitmencook
Whole30 Day 15: HALF-Way point! Zucchini noodles; love at first bite man! For this who are considering buying a veggie noodler; the Veggetti on the left was a cool buy, but I'm sure a mandolin would be much more versatile for many different things. Plus it doesn't work as well for potatoes; and I think it's safe to assume carrots. The sausages are pork sausages from a local, grass-fed Watseka Farm. The Common Grounds is an expensive place, but so far their meat tastes just as good as the industrialized meats! Whole30 Day 13: Not sure if this is in the spirit of whole 30, but it's a Paleo egg biscuit, bacon, and eggs. My wife showed me this from @rochelleswholeplate's page. I believe she also got it from someone else too. Not too bad, but my biscuit came out less fluffy because I don't own ramekins. 1T of full fat coconut milk (I used regular coconut milk), 1egg, 1T coconut flour, 2 pinches of salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook in slightly oiled ramekin (or in my case mini soufflés temptation) for 2 min in microwave. I hear coconut flakes and zucchini mixed in makes it more moist... Try it for yourselves!
