❝   this   is   the   most   stable   place   i've   ever   been.   not   exactly   something   i'm   ready   to   give   up.   ❞   max   crosses   her   arms   over   her   chest   and   leans   against   the   back   of   her   chair,   huffing   as   she   looks   around.   she   doesn't   want   to   have   to   leave   the   nicest,   safest   place   she's   ever   known,   even   if   she   will   still   be   with   fang.   she   doesn't   want   to   leave   the   kids,   even   though   she   knows   they'll   be   fine.   there   are   so   many   uncertainties   that   she   doesn't   want   to   invite   into   her   life.   ❝   they   should   look   into   a   university   aspect.   salvatore   boarding   school:   sorority   row.   i   can   just   see   it   now.   ❞ // open !

maximum ride’s verses

main verse — protectors arc: 

takes place during the time when max and the flock are trying to save the world from global warming and pollution in antarctica, through a hurricane in miami, and a bunch of other global disasters that lead to the flock in a bunker surviving a nuclear winter. 

this verse leads into max’s imprisonment at the mccallum island penitentiary and her time there. 

main verse — hawk series: 

takes place during her last month at the penitentiary and her subsequent escape thanks to the flock and her daughter, hawk. at this point, max is traumatized from ten years that have been taken from her for false accusations from doctored footage and images. she has to work through these things and will be doing so in this verse. 

she’s happy to be out, but shocked that it’s been ten years, when she thought it might have been three or four long years of being locked up, and she has to adjust to that. 

au verse — legacies: 

being an avian experiment, max was given a place at the salvatore boarding school when she was younger, along with the rest of the flock. in this verse, she’s much more taken care of and has a much calmer home life, though she still has a lot of run-ins with the erasers and still has a lot of battles that must be fought thanks to the “school” she and the flock had been at prior to being found by alaric. 

she’s still rebellious and she’s still in love with fang, but at 18, she’s getting ready to graduate from the school and is scared of what being on her own, without her little family, is going to be like. knowing she has fang helps, but nudge, gazzy, iggy, and angel being left behind? she can’t really fathom it. she’s raised them for so long. so, she made fang promise they wouldn’t move far. 

au verse — descendants: 

in this verse, max is the child of dr. sara bellum, the s.h.u.s.h. scientist working with darkwing duck. max is still an experiment, but she was much more loved and taken care of than she ever was in her books. along with the flock, she lives a happy life in auradon, going to auradon prep, and having a genuinely good time, as she deserves. 

with her wings, she (along with the flock), is one of the only people who’s magic isn’t really considered magic and therefore is allowed to be used. because, otherwise, wouldn’t it be cruel to make her keep her wings tucked in all the time and never get any exercise?
