In the dead of the night, once everyone has retired to their rooms and is beginning to sleep, you've been hearing a sound. A song. Played gently on the finely tuned strings of a violin. It flows on the wind from a place you cannot see, through your window, nestling deep into your mind. Never a note out of placeā¦ save for the very last. You are no world-renowned musician, but you can tell that the sharp, discordant harmony played on two of the violin's strings is not how the piece should go.Ā
It must be intentional, you think. That someone out there would play this tune, which you haven't managed to discover the name of yet, so perfectly, yet mistake the last note, differently even, each time it is played. Every time you ask around, you hear the same two responses. "No, I haven't heard it." or "If it's a violin, maybe you could try talking toā¦ 'The Violinist'."
For some reason, just the name causes a shiver to run down your spine.
You manage to gather that the Violinist is a hunter. You are familiar with the concept, of course, but there are so many survivors, and quite a few hunters gathered here now, too, that it's infeasible to assume that you could play the game with every single hunter at a separate time. No, you've yet to meet this Violinist, and you're not sure you want to. But fate has other plans.
You've still been hearing the song, still jarred by the sudden ending every time it happens. And right now, you hear it right in front of your face. The man in front of you is intimidating, to say the least. He is far taller than he should be, though his slouch gives the false sense that he is a standard human size. It's not fooling anyone, though. His hair fans out in distinct tendrils that can control themselves, writhing idly when not in use. He doesn't seem to use his hands very often, his hair working for him, most notably gripping a violin and his bow in the ready position over his shoulder. You don't know why, butā¦ you want to speak with him.
"Hey. What is that song?"
You surprise yourself by asking, given your position. You've finally met this 'Violinist' in personā¦ and failed miserably once he found you. Your teammates are scattered across the map, and you are tied tightly to a chair. He looks at you as if surprised by your sudden decision to speak.Ā
"...what song?"
His voice is raspy and distrustful, as if out of use for a long while. You imagine, with his musical talent, he likely didn't have much need for speaking in his past. Anyone only ever wanted to hear the violin. He wonders if you're like that, too. If he really cannot escape the one controlling his strings.Ā
"Is it not you who plays the violin every night? Always ending on that sour note?"
You press further, emboldened by the fact that he's actually responding. Talking to you like a normal person. The hunters don't do that very often. They aren't supposed to. But your curiosity, in turn, has sparked his. And he cannot help but answer you. Both he and the thing inside of him crave the recognition of his music, of his talent. He, however, wishes only for it to help.
"That is me, yesā¦ but you are not supposed to hearā¦ no one is."
You start to ask more questions, but you have no time. Someone has already come to your rescue. You give him a soft smile, surprised that he's justā¦ letting the rescue happen.
"Good luck with your song."
You wish him well as you take off in the opposite direction, and you notice he deliberately chases your other teammate, not you. You make it to the exit with ease, the game resulting in a tie, not that it matters.
That night, you hear the song again. But it feels different, now, almost like he knows you are listening. Yet, it still ends bitterly. He cannot control it. Or rather, the ending is the only thing he can control, trying desperately to perfect his music, to fulfill his role as the world's best Violinist without the thing pulling on his strings in the backgroundā¦ but he just cannot do it. He can't do it alone.
It's by pure luck that you meet him again, matched in an unscheduled game of Duos. It was going quite poorly for your team, but you managed to stay out of trouble for the first half. Once three of your teammates were eliminated, though, the Violinist finally had to turn his attention to you once more.
"I never did- huff- ask for your name."
You speak up, whether genuinely curious or hoping maybe to get let off easy again, you don't know. But you were mid-containment and already tired from running. He doesn't respond immediately, more intent on getting you than making conversation. He wasn't going to spare you this time, it seemed. Only once you were tied up in a chair once more did he finally respond.Ā
"...Antonio."
He states hesitantly, as if he didn't really want to say. It didn't seem like he was compelled to, however. He actually looked somewhat embarrassed. You can't help but smile at that. He really does seem a lot more human than the others who hunt you down. The timer for your defeat is long, and you know no one is coming to rescue you this time. You find it easy to fill the silence with conversation. Oddly enough, he's quite receptive to it. You tell him of your story, and he returns with his. Explaining his talent and subsequent predicament, the thing that controls him every time he tries to play his music, even just for himself. He tells you he feels hopeless, that there's nothing he can do. He doesn't mind his demon stealing his ability to make music when it's for the betterment of someone else, for the worldā¦ but he misses being able to justā¦ play. To be himself again. There's nothing he can do, though. Not now. You wish it didn't have to be that way. He deserves better than that, and you tell him as such. He seems surprised at this. He didn't expect any sympathy, and he certainly didn't expect himself to believe you. It gives him an idea.Ā
Just before you're sent back to the manor, he asks a favor of you. He asks you to meet him in the gardens. He knows you have no real reason to trust him, but something about you makes him feel different. A feeling he hasn't recognized in himself in a long time. Hope.Ā
You don't really know what you're thinking, as you descend the steps from your room down to the back of the manor, pushing open the doors that lead to the garden. You know that Antonio couldn't physically hurt you, even if he wanted to, but still. Why are you doing a favor for a hunter in the first place? You aren't even sure what you could do in the first place. But something about him makes you, at the very least, curious. Besides, he listened to you first, your story, your sympathies. The conversations between you flow naturally. You aren't really worried.Ā
Antonio is there before you as you walk in. You catch him bent over, taking in the sight and smell of the newly bloomed roses. A strand of his hair reaches out to pick one. It's an odd thing, seeing his hair work the way it does. The tendrils, seemingly alive on their own, gingerly grip his violin and raise it to his shoulder, another coming up to rest the bow against the strings.Ā
"Thank you for comingā¦"
He whispers, almost sickeningly sweetly, as if there weren't a mean bone in his body. With his arms free, he beckons to you, hands outstretched to take your hands in his. He practically beams when you walk over. You're hesitant to go along, but eventually place your palms on top of his. His hair readies his violin, as his arms pull you close. As he plays his song, he draws you into an effortless dance, guiding you without a second thought.Ā
You stumble, at first, but he seems experienced, catching you and making up for your missteps easily, never missing a beat in the waltz that streams perfectly from his violin, filling the air with his flawless music. You recognize it easily, humming along to the notes you've come to know so well. For minutes, you dance with him, almost transported to a different place, a different time, when you were two other people. But you're both here, both now. And the song must end, eventually. But something about it this time is different. He slows down, leading you both to a halt in the garden's center, as he reaches the end of his song. You don't even have time to brace for the impact of a sour note, as, finally, after all these nights, you hear the song end on a perfect harmony.Ā

He barely had enough time as it was doing anything else besides working, and even then he felt like it was never enough

When he became a survivor in the Manor games, he finally had a chance for a different sort of life
Friends, fun, bread that isnāt stale
Maybe things are finally looking up for him
Then, he was forced to switch sides. To betray the very people that he thought he could finally be close with
As Foolās Gold, he became very closed off again
Even more than before
Even though the games donāt actually kill anyone, they still have to play, and he hates having to hurt the people that finally got him to open up, to be able to feel things again
New survivors learned that Norton could either be a hunter or a survivor at any given time, which naturally, lead to a lot of distrust
He hated it, but did nothing to refute anyoneās opinions of him
Itās not like he could change anything
Whenever he had the choice, heād take games as a hunter more often than not.Ā
He didnāt want to associate with āhumansā, with that side of himself anymore
Until you came along
By all means you werenāt any different than anyone else to him

But oh, when you said it, when you pressed that first congratulatory kiss on his cheekā¦
He was gone
That soft blush that took over his cheeks was something he had never experienced before

Seeing that flustered look on his face, when heās been so closed off and distant this whole time sets off a deep-seated desire to see that uncharacteristic, bashful expression on his as frequently as you could
If he knew, heād be adamantly against it, not at all willing to give you what you wantā¦ except he does nothing stop it
He starts by taking on more opportunities as a survivor, almost as if trying to regain the trust of others, your trust
But the next time he has to compete as a hunter, itās against you
And he doesnāt know what heās supposed to do
He had half a mind to just wander around the map for the entire time, even though heād get in trouble for that
He wasnāt given any time to figure things out, though!
Because there you were, now impossibly short compared to his distorted figure

Butā¦ when you gesture for him lean down, he doesnāt resist in the slightest
And when you reach up to hold his cold face in your hands, pressing your soft, warm, undeniably human forehead to his
Well, he didnāt know he could blush like that in this form, but he sure can.
Turns out, heās not as immune to feelings as a hunter as he thought he was
You donāt give him any time to recover, though, as you cheer him on, telling him to do his best
It gives him a renewed sense of purposeĀ
He will do his best, because you said so
It wouldāve been a four-man loss if he hadnāt let you escape
Even though you told him not to let you win, he did anyways
He would always let you win, he just couldnāt help it
You treated him different than heād ever experienced
Made him feel things he thought he was incapable of feeling
He hated it and loved it at the same time
And he would never, ever stop you
Heād still act aloof, though, that he canāt help
He starts hanging out with the survivors again, though
Little by little, and mostly just with you
And itās not subtle at all, everyone quickly learns that if Norton was around, that you had to be nearby
Or, vice versa, if you werenāt around, you were probably wherever Norton was
Everyone thought you were dating
And they werenāt exactly wrong, even if you never technically discussed that idea with each other
It just happened. And, thereās no problem with that
At least, he doesnāt think so, and you certainly donāt
If the two of you happen to be in a match togetherā¦ the others just hope that you arenāt targeted, because Norton will not be doing anything but trying to bully the hunter away from youĀ
He tells you to go decode, but you donāt listen, either. Regardless of your skill, you try your best to support him, too
More often than not it results in a tie
You and Norton losing, while whoever else was playing gets to slip by without the hunter aware of their existence
And when any match ends, the first thing you do is seek out Norton
The first few times heā¦ canāt help trying to avoid you, heās just not used to it
But as time goes on he makes himself easier to find, and doesnāt stop you from whatever you want to do
And, he means it. Whatever.
Heās okay with your affectionate habits, but sometimes wishes youād confine them behind closed doors
He doesnāt really like it when you squish his cheeks and peppers his face with a multitude of light, airy kisses in front of all the others
Heās more than happy to receive all of it and more when in the safety of your or his room
But he still never stops you
Heād never admit how much he likes it out loud
But he loves it
And itās obvious
Heās not immune to that urge either
If heās rescuing you and the hunter isnāt nearby, heāll make some silly joke about being your knight, always to your rescue
And, when heās hunting, he will knock you down (as gently as he can) just so that he can carry you wherever he wants, usually to a gate or the dungeon
Sometimes, when he doesnāt really feel like playing the hunter, heāll just tunnel you and get close but never actually hit you
(At old bot matches before they got semi-good)
And heād be flirting and saying things to fluster you all the while
It would be ten times worse if you got a hunter persona, too
Duos would be an unimaginable nightmare if you two were ever teamed up
Either seamless combination of your skills resulting in no survivor left unharmed
Or the two of you frolicking in your monstrous forms leaving whoever else behind
Depends on the day, honestly, if that day were to ever come
He just likes to have you around
Even when you annoy him with all your touching and teasing. Itās obvious that he likes it.

Thank you for the request! I wanted to get the ball rolling as soon as possible so i started writing bits and snippets immediately! So, its a bit messy to stary, headcannons for the meeting/how dating was before the Manor, then a one-shot for Creature Luchino! I really hope you enjoy!
You knew Luchino when you were both going to University. Heās been a graduate student for a long while, working on thesis after thesis trying to perfect his theories, gain grants and funding to further his research, and maybe, finally, achieve a physical breakthroughĀ Ā
You wereā¦ not that kind of student
Itās actually a miracle the two of you met in the first place, given that he rarely ever leaves the lab, and you were rarely ever on campus to begin with
But somehow, the few times that he went out and you came back, you were in similar places at similar times, and always seemed to bump into each other
Most of the time it was when waiting for a meal, either in line in the cafeteria, or at that cute little diner just off campus
You saw him, his long, unkempt hair and nails, and bags under his eyes, and realize that youāve seen him before, and each time it only made you more curious of him
And, it was the same for him, though he knew you were considerably more put together than he was, physically, anyways, maybe not mentally
(He has no room to talk)
Anyways, you both get your food at the same time and, you both start towards the only available seat in the building
Itās automatic, the way you sit at one chair and he takes the other, and for the first five minutes itās entirely silent between the two of you
āSoā¦ what do you do?ā
The question comes out of nowhere to the both of you, but youāre the one who asked it, and you stand by it
He debates for a second with himself. How much is he supposed to say? Iām studying evolution. The truth, technically, but much too simple. Toxicology? Also the truth, but then heād probably have to explain what that is.
āScience.ā He ends up saying, then cursing himself for being dumb.
You roll your eyes, but you canāt find it within yourself to see his answer as anything other than slightly endearing
āRight, so, what kind of science?ā
And then you just keep talking. Heās never spent so much time out of the lab, and you havenāt heard so much terminology that you didnāt understand in such a short span of time.
But it was nice for the both of you. Until it was time to part.
You didnāt make any plans to meet again. Neither of you really thought about it, but, like clockwork, you meet again. Same place, same time. And it just seems toā¦ work out.
After the fourth or fifth meeting, he offers to take you to the lab where he works, he says heās celebrating something, and that youāre the closest thing heās had to a friend in a long while, and wants to share it with you
Heās getting a promotion! Sort of. If he wants to stay and keep up with his studies and his progress, then he has to teach what he himself is learning. And heās more than willing to have an entire class to bounce his ideas off of.
Not exactly that, since he was technically just teaching about reptiles in general, and not human evolution or theories of early biology, but, it was an exciting opportunity nonetheless
So exciting, in fact, that he bought a nice bottle of wine and shared a few glasses with you
And you were happy for him. You really were. Butā¦
You werenāt a grad student, and while you had toyed the idea of staying in school for your Masterāsā¦ you didnāt really know what youād do, and thatās a lot more money than you had to spend
And, it hurt a little, that youād have to graduate and get a better, ārealā job, while heād be here, using that big brain of his
You, of course, didnāt voice your concerns
Well, you werenāt going to, but when he ever so gently tilted that shimmering bottle of wine to refill your glass
And looked at you like that
You just couldnāt keep your mouth shut

But the way his eyes met yours, and he looked at you like he actually cared about what you wanted to say took away any hesitation in your mind
āI still need a credit in sciences before I can graduate, do you think your class would count?ā
You couldnāt bring yourself to say it. That you wanted to see him more often, that you didnāt just want your once-a-week meetings to be it, then when you graduated with your bachelorās, you would never see each other again.
But, he surprises you. Heās better at reading into things than you thought
āIt definitely counts, but itās a hard class, office hours will always be open.ā
You didnāt know he was capable of teasing, of grinning like that, of insinuating things, but he most certainly is, and he gets it, he does.
Because the whole time you were in his lab together, he was more concerned about how he was going to ask you out than his promotion, thatās what the bottle of wine was really for, not that heād ever tell you
The very next semester, you were the first to sign up for his herpetology course, though, you were most certainly the only one there for him, and not for the credit itself.Ā
All the other students were absolute nerds. You didnāt make any friends there, not that that was your intention
Most ādatesā took place in his new office, though they werenāt really any different than when you used to just eat a meal together, and you still do that too.
But you never were able to bring yourself to talk about the fact that youāre going to graduate that Spring. And, even if it was still months away, any time you thought about it, you could feel a physical pain in your chest.
Some nights, when he had time and wanted to get out of the lab, heād take you to dinner. A nicer place, just the two of you, no thoughts of school or science or workā¦ but no talks of the future, either. Itās as if you were both trying to ignore it for as long as you could.
One night, he seemedā¦ different. He talked excitedly about a new opportunity. An investigation. A breakthrough. He was going to take a trip to some unnamed village miles and miles away, to research evidence of a strange species of snake.
You were happy for him. Why wouldnāt you be? Itās not supposed to be dangerous, and he just seemed so excited, what could go wrong?
He didnāt come back.
You wereā¦ glad that you never brought up the fact that you would eventually have to part. The time you had together was a wonderful experience, but, you knew it would end eventually. Just not like this. You thought you would be the one to leave, not him.
But he didnāt just leave, he disappeared.
Even when you asked the science department, the said they had no word from him
You almost wanted to go out and find him yourself, but how could you? You donāt know where that village was, what that mysterious snake is, and you have a degree to get and a job to throw yourself into.
You had no choice but to leave it alone.
You never forgot, though, not for a second.
But you had a life to get to
When things started to go south for you again, a strange letter appeared on your doorstep. An address. You knew better than to go to strange places that offered even stranger promises, butā¦ if it were real, it's not an opportunity you'd want to pass up. So, you take the chance. What are your other options, anyway?
When you arrive at the Manor, a strange cast of characters greet you. They all received the same letter. They all have their own promises yet to be fulfilled. And they all tell you the same thing. It's a fight for your life. Except, not really, because even when you die, you're sent right back to the Manor in an endless, hopeless loop. It's not all bad, though, the others tell you. Once you get used to it, it can be fun. Some of us have gotten things out of this that we didn't think we could ever experience again. Most of us have gotten close.
You don't really believe them, any one of them. None of it feels real to you. It sounds like everyone who says anything to you is just placating you, trying to make sure you don't throw a fit, keeping the peace. But, at least the people are nice, for the most part. And you don't have to worry about food, and you're given a comfortable place to sleep. All in all, it could be worse.
The very next day, you're thrown into a match. You didn't get much of an explanation the day prior, but sitting at the long table with three otherā¦ 'teammates,' you get a better rundown just moments before the game. Decode the Cipher Machines and don't get hit by the hunter are the two main rules. You ask what a hunter is. It can be one of many, each with their own skills, just like the survivors. You ask what your skill is, andā¦ they don't know. That's for you to figure out. You don't get any further than that when you grow dizzy, unable to see or, hear or feel a thing, only to wake up and find yourself alone in unfamiliar territory.
The air is damp, humid, and stifling. Cipher Machine, you remember, you have to get a code. Examining your surroundings, you find an out-of-place metal box with a high antenna a few feet away. That must be a machine. It's pretty self-explanatory when you start to mess with it. You don't know how you know what to doā¦ but you certainly are doing it. You don't get very far before the pounding of your heart gets to an unbearable rhythm, loud enough to make your ears ring. It's not just because you're nervous, you realize. It's because there's a presence near you. But where? You look around, hearing it before you see it. A massive figure drops to the ground from right above you, its tail narrowly missing the top of your head, instead slamming into the ground next to you. Frozen in fear, all you can do is watch as the creature rises to its full height, long curved claws and scaled form leaning over you in a way that genuinely should be menacing.
But it's not.
Because you recognize it, you recognize him. That same messy hair, deep eyes, even now with his inhuman hands, he bears a striking resemblance to the thing you lost. The very thing that was promised to you in that letter.
"ā¦Luchi?"
You ask ever so softly, almost afraid that he won't see you the way you see him. But if that were true, he would've attacked you, right? Like the others said the hunter was supposed to do. But Luchino doesn't attack, for a long moment, he doesn't even move, still just staring you down. Then, he sits. He's still taller than you, even back on his haunches, but the message is clear. He's down at your level, still here, non-threatening. He keeps his movements slow to show you he's not a monster, even though he looks like it.Ā
"You found me."
He says after a long moment, as if trying to find the right words. What could be said in this situation? In the distance, the ring of a cipher machine snaps you both back to reality. Luchino knows he can't get away with staying here, like this, the entire match. He'd get in trouble. So, as quickly as he arrives, he launches himself with his mutated legs and goes off to find someone he doesn't mind hitting in the head a couple of times, leaving you stunned.
He doesn't come back the whole match. He knows he wouldn't be able to stay away if he did. One of your teammates, whose name you don't remember, but you're pretty sure he's some kind of athlete, manages to 'contain the hunter' for long enough for the rest of the ciphers to be finished, including yours. You don't really know what else to do, so you justā¦ play the game, like you were told. You only see Luchino again when you run towards one of the designated exits. He gives you that look again, that all too familiar smile you used to get to see every day, as if it were a promise to find you again.
By the time you make it back to the Manor, you only have one thing on your mind. What happened to Luchino? You get the feeling, though, that asking about hunters isn't exactly well met on the survivor side. You did ask if there was any way a survivor and a hunter could see each other outside of a game, but all you got was a soft 'don't worry, the sides are separate, they can't hurt us while not playing the game.'
That's not the answer you wanted. You aren't scared of the hunters now that you know they're people, too. Unless, of course, that's only the case for Luchino, but you don't think it is. Instead of wasting your time with questions, you set out to explore, even though all survivors agree it's best to rest after a match. You refuse to believe that you won't be able to see Luchino unless you happen to be up against him again. The Manor is huge, and you can't get to everything in one day, given how late it's getting. Your final stop is the courtyard, the largest open space you could find. Surely, surely, there must be at least a clue as to how you're supposed to find him.Ā
"I should've told you to stay put."
A familiar voice calls out from behind you, where you just came from. You whip around, seeing exactly who you were hoping for. He doesn't look like the creature that confronted you in that dilapidated village. Luchino looks like himself. It isnāt that you donāt get along with Aesop; all things considered, you have the best relationship with him out of anyone. Sometimes, however, he is simply indecipherable. Most days, you can tell how he feels from his expressive body language, despite his inscrutable face, and communicate with him clearly, but on the days where something is off, it is quite difficult to get through to him. You know that the key to any good relationship is communication, but itās hard and it takes a lot of courage on your part just to talk about the things that bother you. He never seems to understand that.
At the current moment, he hasnāt talked to you in two days, and your last interaction consisted of you attempting to console him after some particularly unkind words were said to him regarding his performance during a recent match.
āYou sound just like them.ā His voice has a cold and distant sound to it, reaching your ears with a harsh bite.
āWhat?ā You canāt help but gasp in shock, his words hitting hard, having just been in a tender moment.Ā
āYour words have no meaning behind them, it's all noise.āĀ
"I know that my words may not seem like much right now, but I want you to know that I care about you." You listen to your voice, trying to place yourself in his shoes, but you just canāt. Youāve been there for him practically since you met him, and you know heās having a hard time, but how can he say that? You can hear the sincerity in your tone, you know how it's supposed to sound. But he doesnāt get it.Ā

āAesop-ā You try once more to negotiate a balance or some way that you donāt have to end the conversation with both sides unhappy. He wouldnāt allow it.
āI need space right now.ā He forces out, gruff, though his voice still soft and low.Ā
āThat'sā¦ fine, just let me know when youāre ready to talk.ā Resigned, you walk away, giving him the space he desires, but nothing more than that.
That āspaceā has persisted for days, and this time, you werenāt going to be the one to apologize, or even speak first. You always do and itās hard. If he isnāt willing to give a little effort, thenā¦ you hate thinking about it, that if he wonāt speak to you then anything you couldāve had would be over. All the good moments, being happy with him, hearing his infrequent, yet impactful laughs, it will have meant nothing. The fact that he was giving you the silent treatment, even though you werenāt sure if he was even aware of it, made you want to cave. But this time, you held your ground. After a while, you began to feel childish. You wanted to move past this and to forget the conversation ever happened, but what would you even say to him? He asked for space and you provided, and now you were just going to ignore that for the sake of not wanting to be uncomfortable. What kind of a person would that make you? Now itās immature both to not say anything, and to talk to him. The situation confuses and frustrates you, and all you really want is a little bit of comfort, just a single word of encouragement from him would solve your inner turmoil, but youāre in the midst of a silent treatment, so you canāt even get that.Ā
You decide it's best to move on and think about something else. This shouldnāt affect you this much, and yet, the situation stays in the forefront of your mind. The days drifted by, blurring together in indistinct monotony, and still, the silence lingered between you and Aesop. It was a heavy weight on your heart, a constant reminder of the distance growing between you. You found yourself going through the motions of daily life, but your mind was consumed by thoughts of him. It was hard to focus on anything else when the person you cared about most was shutting you out. You forced your mind to think about anything else, in fact, having thrown your entire person into distracting yourself, you seemed to improve in your game performance, and yet, you could not help but wander back through your thoughts to Aesop, and a pang of sadness would wash over you.Ā
It hurt. Claws as sharp as the last words he spoke to you dug deep into your chest, gripping your bleeding heart. You miss his presence, his infrequent bouts of laughter that never failed to make your heart skip a beat, his unique way of seeing the world. You missed the connection you had, the feeling of being understood and accepted, and most of all, you missed the way he made you feel loved, cherished, and appreciated, like you could be yourself, no matter what.
And when you finally see him again, after shielding his face from you for days, he looks as bad as you feel. Sunken in eyes with the beginnings of dark wrinkles under them. His posture is worse than before, and he seems just out of touch enough with reality to not even notice that you sidled up to him.
āYou look rough.ā You comment, giving him a weak smile and holding out your hand as somewhat of a peace treaty, letting him know that you arenāt mad at him, and you would like to comfort him again, if he were to accept it.Ā
āIām so sorry.ā He whispers, so quiet you can barely hear it. No one else is around; you still hold yourself back from pulling him into a tight, longing hug.Ā
āYou donāt have to apologize, I understand.ā It isnāt long before your unsaid desires are fulfilled as he deliberately closes the gap between you and places his tired head on your shoulder, pulling you into a tender embrace. āAre you alright?ā You canāt help but question. These acts of affection arenāt unheard of from him, but certainly arenāt common.Ā
āI wish to be by your side, Iām sorry for pushing you away. Everything feelsā¦ better when youāre with me.ā
You only hum in agreement in response, keeping him close to you until he decides heās ready to break contact, but from the way it feels, that wonāt be for a long time.

The great inventor Luca Balsa had admitted something to you not too long ago. He told you that he enjoys your presence and that being around you comforts him. He gave you his heartfelt confession, and you reciprocated. To you, this was the obvious outcome to your rapidly developing bond. Since the beginning, the two of you got along like a forest fire, mirroring each otherās exuberance and empathizing with each other at each nadir. Despite all you had already been through together, those experiences only reached the surface of what was to come.
Luca warned you a few times of his unpredictable changes in behavior due to his injury. You really didnāt understand what he meant, as you witnessed his mood swings before, and he had never been violent or even the slightest bit rude to you, but you nodded along each time, promising not to abandon him and to stay by his side through thick and thin.Ā
This morning, after noticing that Luca was not eating breakfast with the rest as usual, you made your way to his room to check on him. Once, he had asked you not to step foot in his room, and since then you had adhered to this request, and youāve never seen the inside. Diligently, you knock on his door, announcing that you were here to ensure his well-being. All you got was a groan in response.Ā
āLuca, are you alright? Can I come in?ā You pry, pushing yourself against the door to hear the other side.
āNo, no Iāll be there in a second.ā You heard his weary voice call. A soft thump then a louder one rumbles the door, before Luca, disoriented, stumbles out. He did not look good. His usually ruffled brown hair was a mess, as if he had been gripping his hair, it stuck out in certain places. His eyes were puffy, and his scared one almost completely shut.Ā
āLuca, you look horrible, please go lay down. Iāll bring you-āĀ
āNo, Iām fine!ā His frantic voice and waving hands cut you off. You waited. He took a step, then lowered his head into his hands, grasping at his temples and groaning softly.
āYou are not fine.ā You respond simply, taking his hands in yours. You gently push open his door to lead him to bed and you're struck with speechlessness at the sight of his room. Papers, tools and trinkets littered everywhere. Some torn paper stuck up with illegible writings scrawled half on the paper and half on the wall. His bed was unmade and there were a few dents and scratches all over his walls. When you come face to face with the words āDo not forgetā written over and over, you realize why he never let you in his room.Ā Ā
You could have forgotten he was next to you, too distracted by the state of his room, but his shudders and reactions to pain called your attention back to him, who now clings to your legs as he stabilizes himself to sit on the floor.Ā
āCome here, Luca.ā You whisper, kneeling to his level and taking his head in your hands, brushing his hair back with your fingers, and putting a light, circular pressure on his temples. He leans into you, unable to hold back his rolling tears from his physical and mental distress. Unable to form any response for his harsh, quick breaths, he welcomes your comfort with a strong grip, beginning to sob into your shoulder. You do your best to help him, whispering sweet words to him and hoping your feather-light touch alleviates some of his pain.Ā
After a long moment, his breathing evens and grip loosens. You remove his face from its place, nestled in your shoulder, and wipe his remaining tears with the tip of your thumb. Neither of you move. You only hold his face, searching his eyes for further signs of discomfort, as he looks straight into your eyes, seemingly more relaxed with each passing second. Only soft breaths and subtle shifts can be heard between you, taking time to just be comforted by each otherās presence.Ā
Luca then presented you with the unexpected. A smile. Though weak and lopsided, his toothy grin shone through the darkness clouding his head.
āThank you.ā He whispers, pulling you into a tight embrace. Wordlessly, you hug him back. No words were needed to convey your inner feelings. Youād be here for him, always. And you knew that the same was true for him. Like you were made to support each other, the two of you sat in silence, knowing each otherās heart and accepting each other, flaws and all.

Starting with his love language, Frederick is a private person. He never really feels safe and comfortable around others, and it takes a lot for him to open up. For this, I see him feeling loved when one spends quality time with him. It would take a lot, in the beginning, just to be able to spend any time with him. He frequently practices piano, so that would be a good start. All it takes is time and effort to get really close to him, but the return is worth it.Ā

-Heās never touchy, in fact, you will explicitly have to ask him to hold your hand or hug you because he just wonāt

Synopsis: You're close friends with Michiko. Over time, you realize that your feelings are greater than you ever thought they could be.
As a naturally friendly survivor, you found it difficult to actually be upset with the hunters. You knew that, like the other survivors, they had a job to do and were, for the most part, forced to carry out their responsibilities without regard to who they were harming. However, there was one opponent that you seemed to connect with especially. Michikoās reluctance to inflict injury upon others and her empathy initially drew you to her. Once, randomly, you decided to finally talk to her outside of a match. On a typical afternoon, you waltzed over to where she resided and asked if she would have tea with you.
This was months ago.Ā
Now, tea, snacks, and chats are, at the very least, weekly. You got along with her automatically and could talk about any and every thing for as long as possible. You finally got to see that not everything in the Manor was about competition and betrayal. Michiko was as sweet as can be towards you and the others, but no one wanted to accept it. Youāre the first person to give her a real chance, and she couldnāt be more grateful, but as the months of friendship went by, something changed.Ā
Itās weird, really. You couldnāt pinpoint when your relationship with her changed. You can easily recall your first conversation with her, and when you became friends, but after a certain point, your feelings started to blur together and what you thought was turned into something you could not describe. It's just something you feel.
Every time you see her, you experience what it's like to be burdenless. Nothing matters except for being with her, and experiencing the good the world has to offer with her. Youāve gotten to a point where you only feel truly relaxed in her presence. All of this, you would never tell her. You couldnāt help from imagining the potential scenario over and over. Just like any other day, you would go to have tea with her, avoiding eye contact and stumbling over your words, and when you finally get it out that you think of her as more than a friend, sheād shun you, tell you that youāre in the wrong and that you will never be any more than friends, if you are even that anymore.Ā
The image sends chills down your spine. You canāt risk losing the only good thing that has ever happened to you, so, resigned, you watch her smile and laugh when sheās tickled, and sigh wistfully when she reminisces. You watch it all, feeling each pang of love that plucks at your heartstrings when you so greedily want more, but never express it. Oddly enough, you feel as though she has changed, too.
Itās now the middle of summer, the sweltering heat leaving survivors and hunters alike slow and impeded. You, currently stuck in the hottest possible place in the middle of a match, are already sick and tired. Unable to fight against the fierceness of the sun, you run to the safety and shade of the large circus tent on the match grounds. What you find there surprises you. The other three survivors, as well as Michiko herself, spread out across the tent, panting and fanning themselves to attempt to battle the heat.
āSo no one was going to tell me you all were hanging out here?ā You scoff, but there is no malicious intent behind the words. You sit yourself next to Michiko, thinking about something to say or a joke to make, but nothing comes to mind. Silent, she passes her fan over to you, which allows for a nice breeze to cool you down for a short while. You soon notice that even she has begun to sweat. You nudge her on the shoulder to get her attention, then direct the breeze of the fan towards her.
Finally, she breaks the silence. āJust wait a little longer for me to be able to surrender, then let us get something cold to drink together.ā She grins towards you, her dazzling smile melting your heart quicker than the sun ever could.Ā
āCold sounds nice,ā You sigh in relief at the thought. Just as she said, it wasnāt much longer before the exit gates opened signaling the hunterās surrender. You decide, instead of following your fellow teammates to your area of residence, you would follow Michiko to your normal meeting spot. Walking hand in hand, you find yourself comfortable with the silence. It's a nice feeling to know that you donāt have to be excitable or funny to make her happy, that you can just be together and thatās all you need. It brings to mind the thoughts youāve been having recently.
āMichiko, maybe now isnāt the best time to say this, but thereās something-ā
āCan you hold that thought, please?ā She uncharacteristically interrupts, waving her hands as a blush spreads across her face.
So, this is how it ends. You continue to walk in silence, too embarrassed to say a word, taking her reluctance to hear you out as a definite rejection. You notice her looking at you a few times throughout the duration of the rest of your walk. You try to keep up a bright appearance so as to not make her any more uncomfortable, but it feels as though she can see right through you. The two of you approach the parlor belonging to the hunters, and you notice the usual, small tea table, set up with an extravagant placement. Fruits and iced drinks, flowers and a nice, cold serving of sorbet waiting for you.
āSorry for making you wait, but I wanted to do something special. I think I know what you were going to say, and if Iām to be honest, I wanted to say it first.ā She chuckles, allowing you to take your spot across from her before she continues.
āI know we've been friends for a long time, and you know that I value our friendship more than anything. You're always there for me, no matter what. You make me laugh, you make me think, and you make me feel lovedā¦ā You watch her pale face grow a deeper shade of red as she speaks from her heart, directly touching yours.Ā
āMichiko,ā itās your turn to interrupt, getting to the words before she does.
āYes?ā She breathes deeply in anticipation.

Nortonā¦ scares you a little bit. He always has this distant, unpleasant look on his face, and while he isnāt directly mean to anyone, he seems annoyed at all times. Despite this, youāve had good conversations with him. Mostly just pleasantries that happen to evolve into real discussions, such as asking him how his day has been and you end up talking about good and bad experiences for what feels like hours. You naturally get along with him, and you can both appreciate that. Occasionally, heāll become distant towards you, almost out of nowhere. His temper is somewhat unpredictable, but you make it through with some effort on your part. Right now, however, he seems to be in one of his moods.Ā
He hasnāt talked to you all morning. Even when you waved, sat next to him, asked him how he slept, nothing. You were going to keep at it, you get the feeling that heās having a rough time and you want to help him through it, but you had to participate in a match. During this match, thankfully, you were left alone to decode. While moving from one cipher to another, you caught something shining on the ground, a very interesting looking rock. When you first pick it up, itās unassuming, like a normal rock, but once you shine it in the light, you see specks of gold and green and yellow, that just leave you in awe. It reminds you of a certain pair of eyes.
When you get back from that match, without thinking, you go to knock on his door, eager to show him the acquisition you are oh so proud of. It takes him a long time to answer the door after you knock, so long that you think heās elsewhere, but, slowly, the door creaks open to reveal Norton with horrid posture and eye bags as dark as his mental state. You look from his face to behind him for a short moment, debating with yourself whether or not to leave him alone, but you really canāt stand to see him in this kind of shape, and your will to make him feel better overpowers your dread of making him feel worse. You stand there, silent for an uncomfortable period of time.Ā
āI wanted to ask you a question, but I get it if you arenāt in the mood to talk.ā You start, having difficulty making eye contact with him.
Wordlessly, he opens his door wider to invite you in, shrugging in the process. From your pocket, you fish out the small, unassuming rock you found earlier, taking his hand and placing it gently on his palm.Ā
āLook.ā You tell him, shining a light on the rock to show him the dazzling sparkles deep within it. He watches with you, paying close attention as you show him all the interesting spots you found.
āYou had a question?ā He finally responds, whilst taking a closer look at your finding.
āOh, right, I was going to ask you if you knew what it was.ā
āLooks to me like Bornite.ā He says, matter-of-factly. You werenāt expecting the quick answer. You watch as he closely inspects the mineral and continues. āItās commonly found in copper mines, but it's not a rare ore. I used to see it a lotā¦ā He trails off, lost in his thoughts once again.
You take a deep breath before taking his hands in yours. Youāre determined to boost his spirits at least a little.
āI saw the gold and the green, and the way that it seemed to shineā¦ the first thing that came to my mind was your eyes. Seeing them next to the rockā¦ your eyes are prettier.ā You pause before your attempt at flirtation, not knowing how heāll take it.Ā
At first, the silence was deafening. You feel like you just made a horrible mistake, like you had poked the ever-volatile bear, but after what felt like a long time, only a few seconds in reality, you notice the beginnings of a bright red spread across his face. Heās stunned. Then, he does the unexpected. He smiles at you.Ā
āThanks.ā That soft grin widens slightly. His singular word seems to have more application than just one. As if to say: thanks for the compliment, thanks for the gift, thank you for noticing me, and thank you for your comfort.
āAnytime.ā You reply with a smile of your own, reciprocating each appreciation with an acknowledgement of your own.Ā
Maybe you could have said more; maybe you should have. But for now, just being in his presence, both smiling and happy, is enough. There would be plenty of time and opportunity to talk further, but right now, words arenāt needed when you can see his eyes, sparkling just for you.

-Ganji is both introverted and extroverted. When heās in class, heāll stay relatively quiet, answering or asking questions on the off occasion, but mostly just paying silent attention. He has to force himself to focus more than most people, he has trouble sitting still. However, when heās on the field, heās like a whole different person. His true self shines through when he plays cricket. Even though he has a serious, almost grim, look on his face when heās playing, he genuinely enjoys himself. It's easy to catch him smiling each time he runs between the wickets.Ā
-He never really considered a relationship before, having to focus too much on practice or on school work. You would most likely start talking to him after being paired up for a group project. Heād beā¦ eager to get it done as soon as possible. Itās not that he doesnāt like you, heās just an introvert and also doesnāt like projects. If youāre even a little patient with him and take both conversation slow and show interest in him/his interests, heād open up to you pretty quickly.
-Ganji is the type to go from strangers to friends to close friends to lovers, instead of just strangers to dating to lovers. Once you get to know him, and he gets to know you, heāll be quick to become friends. It isnāt difficult to tell what he likes and dislikes early on, heās big on open communication, and he doesnāt exactly hide his emotions. His sentiment towards you grows each time you notice that he feels a particular way and talk to him about it.
-Melts when you do something as simple as ask him if he is ok when he looks particularly grumpy, or inquire as to what has him so excited if he seems to be livelier than usual. He does do the same, part of how you two got so close is just by talking to each other so much that you practically know what each slump of the shoulders or every slight sigh means. People think youāre dating way before you actually make it official just from how well you know each other.
-Speaking of the public, itās difficult not to be a bit of the center of attention, at least, when it comes to the other Cricket players. They worry that because their star batsmen is thinking about someone constantly, that heāll become distracted, but you actually have the opposite effect. If he sees you out in the stands, cheering him on, even just in practice, his energy increases tenfold. Heāll make sure he does his best just for you. The others start referring to you as the teamās āgood luck charm,ā since, if Ganji is doing good, it benefits the whole team, and if you make his performance improve, then theyāll want you at every game. So expect to be friends with his teammates too, but not as close as you are to Ganji.
-If you do make it a habit to attend his games, heāll expect affections in return for his performance. āWe won the game, shouldnāt I get a congratulatory kiss?ā Heāll tease, hugging you close in excitement. On the other hand, if he happens to lose (not likely, by his words) then console him with little displays of affection and sweet words, it will absolutely make him feel better. He makes it a habit as well to take you out for ice cream, or your favorite treat, after a game, just because he feels like it.
-Then, once you have to split ways and go home, heāll leave you with a lingering hug, one that makes you all the more ready to see him again. Though, youāll call often outside of school. He prefers to talk to you face to face, but if youāre both busy, sometimes just having you there with him virtually, even when not talking, is nice to him.Ā
-When at school, it's clear that you are friends with him, but PDA isnāt something he particularly enjoys, heās rather save the more close and intimate moments for complete privacy. Youāll definitely start sitting together at lunch, and if thereās ever any more partnered projects in whatever classes you may have with him, heāll partner with you every time. But, most of your time together is spent outside of school. Usually at one of your houses, or at a park, just, enjoying each other's presence.
-You may have to help him study. He will ask you, and be sad but accepting if you say no, but he feels like you help him understand things better, plus, youāre patient with him. Study dates in a library happen often. Itās mostly just before finals, where you both will help each other prepare for tests. Heāll bring two large drinks for the both of you, and just sit down and get it done. He finds your encouragement to be more motivating than anything else. If he seems to be getting overwhelmed, justā¦ carefully lift his face so that he isnāt staring at whatever paper heās trying to get information from and press a simple peck to the tip of his nose and say: ālet's take a break for a minute.āĀ
-After a short break, maybe you show him something funny on your phone, or you just let him rest his eyes for five minutes on your shoulder, heāll feel rejuvenated just being around you, going back to his attempt on the practice test heās taking. Kevin can and will let you sleep in his arms. Heās strong enough to carry you anywhere, and if he feels as though heās getting weaker, heād train just to be able to lift you and hold you. Heāll be overjoyed if you ask him to hold you, he just loves it so much. Heāll be as sweet as he can, supporting your neck and back so that you can get comfortable and eventually doze off. Heāll always see you to bed every night, no questions asked. After ensuring youāre comfortable under your covers, heāll give you a kiss on the forehead. If you ask him to stay with you, well, who is he to deny his beloved?
Eli Clark
Eli canāt help but sigh, downcast, when he sees you asleep somewhere other than your room. He doesnāt want to wake you up, he knows you need sleep, but he wants to spend time with you. He will wake you up when he finds you, but will ask if you want to go back to sleep somewhere more comfortable. If you say you want to be with him, heāll cheer up greatly and do whatever you want to do with you, but if you say youāre still sleepy, heāll be understanding and loop his arm around your waist to stabilize you while the two of you walk to your room. If he happens to be looking for you and canāt find you, heāll send Brooke Rose off in a different direction to search for you. He wants to make sure youāre safe.Ā
Ganji Gupta
Ganji is, in fact, strong enough to carry you as well. He doesnāt often, because he knows how much he hates being treated like an object, so heāll only carry you if you ask. He believes that you can do things for yourself. He canāt help but catch you and pull you close, however, when he notices you stumbling from fatigue. He will constantly make sure youāre ok, though. If you tell him youāre fine, and just a little sleepy, heāll leave you alone for like five seconds before he sees you drooping, then make sure you really are ok.Ā
Synopsis: You're having a horrible day, thankfully, Tracy is there to cheer you up!
Pain woke you up in the morning as you fell out of bed onto the cold, hard floor, leaving a tender bruise on your shoulder. You left your room with your shoes untied, causing you to almost trip down the stairs, but you managed to grab the banister before you stumbled face first down however many stairs were left in front of you. Before going to breakfast, you checked on how many matches you had scheduled. Just one. At the table, you were lucky enough that no one talked to you. You werenāt sure youād be able to form a coherent sentence.Ā
Now, you are decoding a cipher machine, and you feel the beginnings of an intense heartbeat deep within your chest. Despite the Lawyer informing the team that the hunter happened to be near him, here you were, your bad luck streak continuing, with The Disciple right on your tail. With only a short yowl as a warning, Annās cat latched onto your back. Not even a second later, she stunned and hit you. You attempt to throw down a nearby pallet. Ann hits you again, leaving you incapacitated before any ciphers have been completed. Now youāre embarrassed. You rubbed your shoulder which still hurt from falling out of bed, and awaited a rescue.Ā
You spot Vera out of the corner of your eye coming towards you, ready to rescue.Ā
āYou really couldnāt have contained the hunter for at least one cipher?ā She chided as she approached, readying her perfume.Ā
āIām a little tired, sorry, Vera.ā You couldnāt help the bitterness in your voice.
āWe are all tired. Thatās no excuse.ā
Vera pulls on the ropes tight against you. Ann, with a strike that you can't tell if it's well-timed or lucky, hits Vera and instantly downs her.Ā
You manage to refrain from saying anything rude, though the temptation is almost overwhelming. Thankfully, Ann takes Vera elsewhere, so you no longer have to resist. The time you have left dwindles. With only a few seconds to spare, Freddy pulls you from your chair too harsh for your liking, but you are aware that theyāre both upset with you.Ā
āGo decode.ā He spits the words at you. You donāt say anything in response, running off and letting him rescue Vera. You run to a cipher. It canāt be decoded. You almost scream in frustration as you have to run even farther, tired and hurting, to actually get anything done.Ā
The cipher you run to is occupied. Just your luck.
āSorry.ā You start to run off again before youāre interrupted.
āWaitā¦ come here.ā Tracyās soft voice stops you. You comply, allowing her to take care of you. āHey, are you ok?ā She questions once she notices your intense shaking.
Again, your emotions control your actions as you try as hard as you can to conceal your agitation.
āLook, Iām fine. Let's just decode.ā
āWait a minute.ā She responds, her tone light. She takes your hands off of the cipher, rubbing them pleasantly with her thumbs āTell me whatās wrong.ā
You canāt meet her eyes. āI didnāt sleep well, and I made a simple mistake that everyoneās blaming me for, it's a little frustrating, sorry for taking it out on you.ā
āYou didnāt take it out on me. Itās ok,ā She brings you into a hug before continuing, āTake a deep breath, weāll get through this, itās not your fault that they arenāt in the best moods anyways.ā
Together, the two of you take a few deep breaths, then get back to decoding.
āAnd I donāt blame you for anything.ā Tracy adds, moments before the cipher is completed.Ā
āThank you, Tracy.ā You hug her again, then run off to decode alone.
āOne more thing!ā She yells after you, you stop for a short moment. Holding up her hands, she bends her fingers into a heart shape. āI love you!ā

Victorās intense Scopophobia as well as nervous habits made determining his love language difficult. Despite his inability to talk, as well as his social anxiety, I believe his love language is, in fact, words of affirmation. At first, I vetoed this, since he doesnāt take words at face value and believes that words written and passed back and forth mean so much more. And this still applies! He is overjoyed the first time he receives a letter addressed to himself, and this carries over to receiving letters in the manor. Thereās so much one can say to him, and he doesnāt have to trip and stumble through social conventions to get the message!
-You take notice of this early on, not too long after he arrived in the manor
-You thought itād be cute, or a little funny, to give him a welcome letter and say some sweet things and encourage him and teach him a bit about the games, since heās a postman.
-He sends a letter back saying how thankful he is for the letter and reveals to you that he isn't one for face to face conversation
-So, you both get to know each other very well though letters
-but he observes you in conversation with others
-he believes that your genuine self comes through when you write letters and that sometimes you pretend to be different around the others
-He really wants to understand your true self better
-To do that, he writes you a letter, basically outlining his thoughts
-after a long time of correspondence, heās come to trust you
-He asks you to meet him in a quiet, pretty place, like the garden
-There, he writes down a few questions that he expresses his wish for you to respond to them in your own voice, not to write them
-When he realizes that you speak to him the same way you write to him, he gets a little flustered
-One, he feels bad for doubting you, and two, heās over-the-moon that you entrusted him with your true self practically without hesitation
-That's when he notices you, just as flustered as he is, for seemingly no reason

-āIām in love with you.ā The words come out before youāre ready. Youāre almost breathless, like the words were ripped from your lungs by the impenetrable claws of truth.
-He sits there for a moment, stunned, red gradually spreading across his entire face
-Then, he furiously scribbles something on the paper on front of him, scratches it out, writes something else, scratches it out as well
-Then, finally, he slides the paper towards you
-amongst the messy scribbles, four words in his distinct handwritingĀ

Andrew Kreiss
He is initially afraid of affection. Previous to his life in the manor, he could only rely on his mother for comfort, and now that she is gone, he couldnāt imagine the care of another. The letter sent to him to invite him to the manor gave him hope for the first time, and in this place, he isnāt ridiculed or mocked. He still has trouble interacting with people, but heās growing as a person. In fact, while he is living in the manor, he discovers his love language!
-When he was young, he can remember his mother pulling him close in her lap, petting his hair and whispering such sweet things to him
-He really misses her
-Sometimes, he wonders what she would think of his life now
-despite doing some immoral things in his life, then taking a sketchy offer to go to an unknown location, he thinks heās doing ok
-Surprisingly, heās bonded with a few people while having to live here
-the main one being you

He doesnāt need someone to take care of him, but he understands the difference between pity and genuine care.Ā
-Drag him out of his room when heās been holed up in there for too long, heāll fight, but ultimately, heās appreciative of it.Ā
-He forgets to eat and drink, too focused on other matters. Tell him some silly joke about how āperpetual motion canāt exist without some kind of energy!ā and make him eat.Ā
-If heās having a particularly stressful day, migraines and amnesia making his brain swirl into oblivion, bring him a cold hand towel and a drink

Edgar Valden
Edgar believes that any ātimeā that he gives to someone else should be considered quality. But what is quality time to him? He thinks back to his younger years, his brothers always pestering him, telling him to do things or wanting to spend time with him. Back then, he wouldāve called āquality timeā being alone with his painting supplies, full of inspiration and ability. Now, he has a different idea of quality time.
-When Edgar met you, you sparked the remembrance of his sister in him.
-His poor, sister whom he lost so early in life, just after his mother left
-It was his first major inspiration since being in the Manor
-He tried to work using only his memory, but that was unreliable at most times.Ā
-So, he asked you to come meet him where he could see you and paint
-He sets up an easel outside near a bench in the gardens
-Back in Britain, he made a comment about how the weather was always against him, he hates rain
-But today, everything seems to be going in his favor
-The sun in its radiance directed itself in his muses direction
-You sit there in front of him, nervous, but excited to see the outcome of his painting
-Heās in quiet concentration, you hesitate to break the silence, but you feel a little uncomfortable sitting as he stares at you
-āThe sun is brilliant today! Donāt you think so?ā You say, awaiting his response. At first he looks like heās going to tell you to keep quiet, then his gaze softens ever-so-slightly
-āI like the sun as well, rain is uninspiring.ā
-The silence continues for a short moment before he speaks again
-āI used to have a friend, my cat, Mary. She loved sunny days like this, too. I can almost see her curled up, soaking up the rays.ā

Ganji Gupta
Words of Affirmation is Ganjiās love language. He likes to be reassured, and though he has a bit of a short temper, his anger is resolved with relative ease. He is also one to use his words to show appreciation. Despite looking displeased most of the time, Ganji is a perfectly pleasant man to be around.Ā
-His favorite thing to do is compliment you during a match
-Sometimes, it will distract you, which entertains him
-He likes the playful banter that comes with competition
-If youāre containing the hunter, heāll run by and hit the hunter at the perfect time
-then direct some quip at you about how he āsavedā you
-It is the opposite when he has to use his rampage skill
-he hates being so angry and violent, but he has to in order to gain strength
-so, once youāre both safe, you comfort him with your kind words, reminding him that heās not a monster, and that he is a kind person
-the only part of his rage he appreciates. That is, the fact that you always comfort him.
-A lot of his attachment comes from open communication
-honesty is a really big thing for him
-If he has a problem with something, heāll come out and say it
-but heāll be cordial about it until it turns into an argument
-that doesnāt happen very often, though
-and rarely ever with you, he feels very guilty if he ever directs his anger towards you
-if, is the keyword, it really is unlikely for you to get in a fight with him
-he cares about you so much that only sweet words will flow from his mouth to your ears
-he makes sure of it!

Kevin is naturally physically affectionate. Heās constantly giving everyone hefty pats on the back, tousling someoneās hair with his gloved hand, or pulling them close by the shoulder to laugh and talk with anyone. Thereās almost no exception for this behavior.

Eli feels the most loved when spending Quality Time with someone! Heās a perfectly pleasant individual, but he does have a social battery that does drain after a while. After heās done conversing and interacting with others, heāll head back to his room to recharge, usually talking to Brooke Rose about the dayās events and any other interesting thoughts that come into his mind. Once he becomes attached to someone, he also considers them one that ārechargesā him.
-He purposefully seeks you out when he craves alone time with you.Ā
-Most of the time, youāll find him, dejected, after a particularly rough match.
-You notice that at soon as he realizes youāre near him, heāll perk up a little. From there, heāll take your hand and lead you up to his room.
-From there, what you do varies greatly
-sometimes you two will talk, or participate in a hobby that you enjoy, or just take a nap
-Eli likes to spend time with you, he fears that neither he nor you have much of it
-He wants to make the most of the time he has
-so please, donāt leave him just yet
Aesop Carl
Also Quality Time. Aesop isnāt much of a talker, and he really doesnāt like to be touched. It takes him a long time to get comfortable enough with anyone to do most anything. But, it's entirely possible, it just requires patience. Things that one can notice about Aesop becoming more comfortable around a person includes, less tense posture, slightly more eye contact, and he becomes more vocal. This all comes with spending time with him, though, if he allows it.Ā
-Aesop is aware when you take care to ensure heās comfortable in a situation
-He notices the things you do for him, and the patience you have with him
-and heās more than grateful, he just doesnāt know how to show it.
-After a long time of him getting close to you, he gets the opportunity to let you know just how much you mean to him
-Itās late at night, the final matches of the day have concluded, and you are exhausted.
-You find waiting for you Aesop, who takes a look at your disheveled figure and hesitantly holds out a gloved hand
-You take it, and he leads you to your room with his metal makeup box in his other hand
-Silently, he instructs you to take a comfortable sit on your bed as he kneels and opens the box
-He reaches for supplies to patch you up, antiseptics for your shallow wounds and bandages.
-Heās very careful with each touch, youāre able to feel his concern through his body language
-When he finishes, he packs up his belongings, but before he leaves, he turns to you suddenly
-āWould it be okay ifā¦ā he takes a breath, gripping the hem of his shirt for a brief moment. You let him take his time. āCould I ask for your embrace?ā
-āIād like that.ā You respond, pulling him close for a lingering moment.Ā
-This moment lasts in both of your minds until the end of time itself
Norton Campbell
He has two different love languages. He prefers to show his love by giving gifts, but feels loved through acts of service. Heās had to strive and work hard all his life in order to have stability, and yet he still wants more. To him, it shows that he appreciates someone when he gives someone a gift. If he were to be given a gift, heād feel that it's either out of pity, or that heād have to return the favor. He hates the idea of being in debt to someone. Itās different when someone chooses to do something of their own accord.
-There was a message not too long ago from the Baron of the Manor. A new location for the games to take place would be added to the growing list.
-Light chatter and theories spread across both sides of the manor
-It wasnāt until someone was actually assigned to the new map would the survivors figure out what it was
-One morning, you came downstairs to meet about half of the survivor population gathered around where the matches were scheduled, conversing in hushed whispers
-You didnāt notice anything else about the schedule, only two names: Norton Campbell, and The Golden Cave.
-Two things that would not go well together.
-You find a nearby slip of paper, write your name on it, and cover his name
-āIāll go in his place, just donāt let him know. He shouldnāt have to go back there.ā
-Of course, there was no way youād complete this task without him knowing
-An out-of-place covering on the schedule was obvious
-At first, he was angry when he discovered it. He didnāt need your pity, heās strong enough to handle it. But, he thought for a moment. Ultimately feeling thankful, rather, that youād do something so nice for him.Ā
-Thereās something heās been working on as a personal project, something his time has gone towards that he cares for greatly
-When you returned from your match, on what looked like your last legs, everyone surrounded you and your teammates.Ā
-Without a word, Norton pulls you away to a quiet spot. Youāre thankful for this. You werenāt about to put up with that clamor.Ā
-āListen,ā He starts, āIāmā¦ā he struggles to find the words. āIām honored that you did that for me. Itā¦ to know you care for me like that is a new, but good, feeling.ā
-He produces something from his pocket, it shines as the small object falls into your palm
-Its a miniscule, but perfectly cut, diamond
-āItās small, but diamonds like these are very valuableā¦ā He goes on, you listen to him talk about what exactly this diamond is and what makes it special
-āI love it, Norton, thank you!.ā You hesitate for a moment before lifting yourself and pressing a quick kiss to his cheek.
-Now he feels as though he must repay you for that gift!
Mike Morton
Physical Touch! Not a moment goes by where the ever dynamic acrobat isnāt near someone, usually physically interacting with them. You know those new interactive emotes? Those were made for him. With a significant other, his show of love increases tenfold.
-In the mornings, Mike will greet you differently depending on his mood
-He didnāt sleep well? Youāre engulfed in a tight hug that lasts for a long while before breakfast. If heās feeling happy, heāll dramatically bend down on his knee and place his lips on the back of your hand before interlocking arms to lead you to the dining room. If heās still sleeping, he will expect you to wake him up with a kiss as if heās sleeping beauty.
-If you look sad, or distracted, he will play footsies with you under the table
-He doesnāt want you thinking about things that make you unhappy
-Expect lots of pats on the head. Even if youāre taller than him, heāll find a way to ruffle your hair
-In matches, heāll be as close to you as possible without putting the game at risk
-There are often times when there are only two people decodingĀ
-Because if youāre containing the hunter, heās not standing still doing ānothingā as he likes to say
-At night, once youāre both tuckered out and ready for bed, heāll drag you to whichever of your rooms happens to be closer and pull you into bed, just to latch onto you like a koala
-It may seem contradictory, but that's the beauty of words of affirmation, he loves to hear your voice
-He especially loves it, however, when you play along with him
-He gets into verbal āargumentsā frequently, especially with like-minded people such as Demi and Kevin
-Honestly, heāll love it if you take his āsideā and smack-talking the opposing side
-or if you take the stance against him, he definitely likes the stichomythia, verbal repartee, between the two of you when you play argue
-he doesnāt like real arguments though, heās has a habit of sticking to what he says, and sometimes the arguments could get nasty when he refuses to back down
-but arguments rarely ever happen, heās much more likely to resolve things with open communication first
-Heāll often just ask for you to talk to him when heās upset
-He likes to listen to you go on about a subject youāre interested in, and heāll be ever so grateful if you listen to him as well
-Heās a chatter-box in the best way!

If one were to ask Lucky what his love language is, he wouldnāt know. He hasnāt had much of an opportunity to show or receive any type of love throughout his life. That being said, an embarrassed, but happy, blush will appear anytime anyone praises him. Every āgood job.ā He gets after a match leaves him stuttering out a soft āthanksā and avoiding eye contact. These Words of Affirmation, however, always make him feel appreciated.
-Lucky has been stuck in the Manor for a long time
-He hasnāt really complained, since there isnāt much for him back in the ārealā world
-plus, he got to meet you

-You noticed early on when Lucky let you all know that the hunter was near him, and as far as you knew, that fact hadnāt changed.Ā
-Youāre peacefully decoding when the priestess calls upon you to help her bridge a connection across the map. You comply, standing by the nearby wall and allowing Fiona to complete her skill, suddenly, you notice Luckyās status marker go down to half-health
-And suddenly, heās right next to you, now incapacitated
-As the portal dissipates, you begin to heal him up
-When heās back to full health, you take hold of his wrist before he leaves to find a different cipher
-āYouāre doing great!ā You say, watching as he instantly becomes bashful, āYouāve got this, I love you!ā
-Heās shocked! Youā¦ do? Through his dazed demeanor, he manages a strong āI love you, too!ā And runs off
-Both to hide his embarrassment, and to win, for you!
Servais Le Roy
Again, with a lot of thinking, Servaisā love language is Words of Affirmation. For someone like him who is cunning and enjoys being the focus of the crowd, words of affirmation are a powerful way to make him feel valued. When he performs for you, be sure to acknowledge his talent and skills.
-Servais has spent most of his life pushing towards his goal of becoming a great magician
-Getting to the point where he believes that he can be the creator of the perfect, genuine magic trick
-Often he attempts to create a new trick and will perform for a test or for approval, if he believes the trick is worthy of an audience
-Youāre the first he goes to, sometimes just to show you what heās been working on
-He thrives off of the encouragement you give him

Despite his stoic look, Naibās love language is physical touch. Naib has had so much affection to give bottled up inside him for a long time. The truth is, Naib is a romantic at heart, but has created a wall to cover his true personality. That is necessary when one works with the horrors and bloodshed Naib has had to see. Now that heās safer, heās not going to release his inner love until he finds the right one. One canāt forget about friends as well! Naib will have a few people heās closely attached to, but there is something special about his lover. Heās not the type for pda until a long time into a relationship, but early on, not much is off-limits once in private. That sounds horribly inappropriate, but I mean it in the sweet way?
-It takes Naib a long time to actually confess his love for you, but in a way, it was obvious for a while
-Heās always go to you if injured during a match
-and be the first to save you when youāre in trouble
-heās try as hard as he could not to be evident about anything, he really was
-itās ok though, you liked to see him almost silently beg for your attention
-After he confesses and you reciprocate?
-Double, no, at least triple that.
-A quick peck on the cheek before each match, from him to you if youāre the one with the match, or you to him if heās leaving.Ā
-A good morning hug when you see each other for the first time in the mornings
-that is, up until you start spending nights with him
-Heād honestly have trouble sleeping alone after the first time you sleep in the same bed together (not like that)
-Itās awkward at first, he doesnāt really know what to do
-but just guide him along, heāll quickly gain confidence once he confirms that you really do feel the way he feels
-Every night is spent held tight in his arms
-He loves it when you run your hands up and down his back

A boisterous man! Heās excitable and energetic at all times. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with him. Acts of Service is how he best shows and receives love! Heās the type to lend a helping hand when he notices someone in need. Thus, he has associated himself with many different types of people.
