if you're going to use them in fic, locked tomb fans, remember:

BLASPHEMY: to deny a god or other diety the respect they are due (ex: saying that john gaius is an absolute dickweasel is blasphemy)

HERESY: to accept a belief contrary to or at odds with generally accepted or orthodox doctrine (ex: practicing soul-siphoning as a matter of religious duty, despite your god having condemned it, is heresy)

IDOLATRY: the worship of something which is not your religion's god, or the elevation of something to or above the level of reverence due to your god (ex: building a church for and around a tomb, reciting prayers about it, and falling to your knees at the mention of it is idolatry)

APOSTASY: to leave a religion or reject the truth of a god (ex: telling the god of your religion that you need to go find god for yourself and it probably isn't him, and then literally turning your back on him and walking away is apostasy)

there can be overlap! but the words are not interchangeable.

I just reada really good fic but halfway through I realized "oh shit this is really familiar.... didn't I write something like this once?" And as I kept reading I kept predicting what happened next and the further I went the more convinced I was that they'd ripped off my story-

like, copied the ENTIRE plot and re-written it, just better than I had? The characters were more fleshed-out than mine were, and the POV was more interesting, and the pace made more sense- but it was MY STORY?

So close to the end I was like "holy shit.. do I message them? Ask if my story inspired theirs? Should I be angry? Flattered?" Cause their tags and description didn't mention me AT ALL, which, sure, it's fanfiction to begin with, but if you're using my work than at least credit me as inspo, right? Just to be courteous?

But I get to the end of the final chapter, and it's not finished, and I'm kind of disappointed cause I never finished my story and I was really immersed in their version now and had been looking forwards to seeing how they tied up my loose ends- so I scroll to the bottom to leave a comment, and.

People say "You have to draw the line somewhere, and Biden has crossed it-" and my response is "Trump has crossed way more lines than Biden".

These categories are based off of actual policy enacted by both of these men while they were in office.

If the ONLY LINE YOU CARE ABOUT is line 12, you have an incredible amount of privilege, AND YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT PALESTINIANS. You obviously have nothing to fear from a Trump presidency, and you do not give a fuck if a ceasefire actually occurs. You are obviously fine if your queer, disabled, and marginalized loved ones are hurt. You clearly don't care about the status of American democracy, which Trump has openly stated he plans to destroy on day 1 he is in office.

if you want to vote for a third party, what you are going to do is vote for biden in november 2024 and then as soon as that’s done, start trying to get ranked choice voting in your state

we will ALWAYS be a two party system until voting reform happens, and voting reform won’t happen if project 2025 happens.
