Deep violet eyes followed the green flutters that wrapped around him. Their light pushing and pulling, a raspy breath of singing lulling Lio into a restful slumber.

Lio’s back remained turned away from the entrance, his small body silently quivering. The world had become silent, as if it were an audience holding its breath during the climax of a show. Silently they pushed from the group, fitting together like a puzzle to form a shape. They knew this child the moment he was created, knew his heart and soul just how they knew they wanted to burn.

They laid their head down on their chest, listening to their beloved’s voice. What a kind and enchanting voice their beloved had. Surely they should bring precious Catrina to him! She would teach him to sing their songs. Their flames laid peacefully, dreaming of both their treasured friends finally meeting. Purring as Lio patted their head while reading. The birthday card sitting at the edge of the bed forgotten.

Q: I'd like to ask about Galo's and Lio's hairstyle. I think Galo's hair is a mohawk, but is Lio's hair a thick bob with rather long sideburns?

Character designer Koyama Shigeto: First of all, the long part of Lio's hair is not sideburns (laughs). In Promare, the characters' hair is not meant to represent realism, but simply to express what they feel inside and their nature, so their hair is made to stand up or bend according to their emotions.

And I gotta say. I might work on a crossover after the 80k fic gets written. But for now imma just share my idea.

So remember how I made a post about Prometheus? Yeah well, I thought about it in FATE context and then I thought about what my friend I talked about a few months ago. About how MAYBE the Promare was already here in the Earth's core? (I have two possibilities rolling on how the Promare got to the Earth's core) BUT. Point is.

What if the fire that Prometheus steals is the Promare and he's the very FIRST Burnish? And listen! It would make sense because if I remember correctly ( which uh someone fact check me!!!) Prometheus is afterwards punished by the gods by being chained to a rock? Cliff? Something someplace accessible to birds! And is then eternally punished in having his organs/body ripped apart by birds. And like! Think about it! We know the Promare can heal wounds! Practically any and all kinds, so he'd be healing which again goes along with his punishment, in having to stay the whole next day over again like the last!

And maybe the Promare is what actually took out the dinosaurs. (Lol XD I doubt that, but that'd be ooh. If it was the case.) Or maybe fire that appears throughout religious history all across the world.

So I just like wanna let of you know I let my friend egg me on and I'm currently suffering regrets.

So the current Promare fanfic I'm writing will be the longest work I will have ever written and I'm dying. I told her just to spite her I would write an AU that was 80k and then write an AU of that AU. ...I'm just barely at 8k.

And I've hit a slump, so now I'm just revising what I have so far and hoping that that will help me figure out how/what I should be writing or expressing.

But like.... It's so hard. I'm writing this AU based off a doujinshi me and my friend found online, I will most certainly post a link to it when I'm done! It's Hard writing a Lio that is more or less stifling himself. Like it's still Lio, but not completely! In the setting I have him in Lio is being suffocated! And it's burning him out, but there's also this NEED for it to build up for Lio to explode!

I have a lot of OCs in this AU. Most which do have designs already fleshed out, and others that still need one.

Y'know it probably doesn't help that I'm mostly writing around 12/1 in the morning and freezing. Yeah no. The freezing actually makes it worse cuz I'm MEGA unhealthy so my fingers and feet are always cold, and once their cold they stay that way. I could spend 4 + hrs trying to warm my feet and they would just barely warm up!

Anyways thank you for listening to me rant. Imma be working hard and dying.

So...would the Promare themselves count as a character? Like I get that were fire aliens and didn't do much talking in the movie, but like they probably did talk to their Burnish right?!

And I mean...I may have given them a personality within my fanfics being written. °∆° idk why but I legit just imagine the Promare as little kids. Mischievous, cute, somewhat sassy and SUPER loving little sh*ts. ...kids but sh*ts. Idk why those two very distant spectrums but yes. In my mind I've been correlating Promare with kids who sometimes say something super wise that make you actually wonder.

Anyways! Sorry! Would the Promare count as a character? I don't think so, but...idk guys. Like I said earlier I don't even think this is a question. °_°"

(Part 1) jojo!! I finally got to see promare and loved it!!! But I feel like there is stuff I didnt notice and I am dying to see it again. I see people on twitter talking about how it reflects the rise of fascism and I didnt catch that and was wondering if you knew about it and could explain it a bit!! Also, this may seem weird, but I feel like I missed so much in the fandom in terms of official art and fanart and what the creators have said about galo and lio's relationship, stuff like that

I GOTCHA. sorry this took so long. it’s really hard to find stuff on twitter so instead i’ve summarized the major stuff that’s been said and major fan trends and so on!! what will become clear by the end of the thread is that 1) the directors are fucking with all of us 2) this is a really fun fandom lmao

PROMARE EXTRA STUFF

here are two major threads on interviews/promare fax: [thread one] [thread two] they have a lot more extra stuff i haven’t included!!

promare is set in america. the mad burnish name their bikes after the city where they first got their burnish powers - lio’s is named detroit, gueira’s is named miami, and meis’s is dallas. (the cities make a triangle on a map lol)

that said, lio is british, and gueira and meis are australian. meis and gueira have matching tattoos. meis’s says fujin (god of wind) and gueira’s says raijin (god of thunder). 

burnish power levels are expressed by how colorful their fires are/how many horns their burnish forms have. lio and kray have three horns and tri-colored fires, gueira is second in command to lio and has two horns, meis as one horn and is actually third!!

meis is the responsible one, gueira is wild. meis used to be in a visual kei band and gueira used to want to be an america football star, but his health wasn’t good enough.

lio has only been the leader of the mad burnish for a year to a few months. the title of leader is passed down and that’s what the movie means by “hunting him for thirty years”

galo wears a sleeve over his left arm to cover up scars he got from when thyma (burnish woman lio tries to bring back to life) became a burnish, after rescuing her from a fire. it might also be a compression sleeve to help with the scarring or something.

the staff oversaw the dub so everything in the dub version is canon

okay. stick with me on this one. remi has a girlfriend who used to be in another burning rescue unit, went missing, and was eventually found to have been transformed into a crocodile and living in the sewers of promepolis. take it in. if you see remi with a crocodile, that’s his girlfriend.

galo is obsessed with japanese culture……

promare was in development for six years. 

originally, it was going to be a buddy cop story where one cop befriends and fuses with a fire crature. originally lio was going to be the protagonist and galo the spiky purple haired bad guy. they wanted to make it and i quote a “boy meets boy” story instead of boy meets flame creature story. guess they got the best of both worlds.

ignis has a daughter and is a single parent and is actually canonically married to me. we’re very happy together.

lio originally had an off the shoulder shirt.

lio is apparently 5′2″ according to someone. i know it’s socially accepted as the norm but as with all things, go wild.

lio and galo are entry-level businessmen aged. they’re adults. no one start with this.

the staff deliberately dodge all questions about ages and birthdays and have stated they will never give anything definitive because they don’t want to live like that and it’s relatable.

i would be remiss if i didn’t mention that one of the artbooks has lio in bondage and in another picture, galo standing over a prone lio who is grinning and staring at his crotch thanks trigger. there’s a lot of art of lio in compromising positions because of this.

there is a lot of official art of galo and lio in matching suits, holding flowers. if you see art of them married, that’s a big reason why lol

So I'm making a Spanish translation of the Promare songs. I finished Ashes last night as well as Inferno. I finished Nexus today. My bro already checked over Ashes for me so today he'll be going over Nexus and Inferno. Lol

I speak Spanish but it's butchered Spanish....I'm a bit ashamed tbh, but ANYWAYS! So far it's been good! It's definitely fun and helps with expanding my vocabulary. Lol XD

Idk if imma post em up. I'm considering it but who knows. Lol I was mostly translating for if I wanted to use a Spanish version with one of my characters for the future Promare fic I'm plotting.

I'm very proud of Ashes. I did that one entirely on my own and needed very few corrections on. 😆 Inferno....my bro helped me do basically all of it. 😅 Nexus I did on my own too tho today!!! 😣😣 Hopefully it'll need very few corrections. Next up is a translation of Kakusei from Sapphire on YT. That one I don't think I will ever post, so I'm probably gonna do two Kakusei translations. I'm also gonna do Kori No Tojikomete. Which I hope with all my heart that one day Sapphire makes an English version of! Ah, I can clear this up. This is a slight misunderstanding: the term “promare” refers not to professional horses but to the films’s initial “pro-horse” (vis a vis “anti-horse”) agenda. This message was lost through edits and localization for the dub, but you can see in the original design for Detroit, Lio’s Burnish Cycle, that Lio was in fact very pro-mare:
