I had to put down Pumpkin yesterday. I’ve had her for eleven years. She was in pretty bad shape. She was incredibly thin, losing fur, antisocial, and on her last day her urine was orange and her skin was jaundiced. So we took her to a veterinarian. At the vet’s office she was the happiest she's been in a while because she got to be alone with my mom and me, since she never liked the other pets. The vet told us that it was most likely a liver disease and that the treatment had a slightly worse than 50/50 chance of working. I decided that even if she did live, she didn't have that much longer anyway. If she had to leave us soon, I decided it should be when she is at her happiest. So we agreed to have her put down. It was probably the worst thing I've ever gone through. Goodbye Pumpkin, you will be missed.
