You know, why did no one in the circus genuinely want to defend gangle? Like you see someone being constantly bullied and yet you just....kind of say "fuck off" every so often but allow her to continue. Why do they care so much about that purple bunny opinion and how she feels instead of wanting to check on the actual victim. i'm gonna say it. jax abstracting/committing suicide was selfish. i would argue it was one last act of manipulation against the rest of the circus, similar to when shadow weaver sacrificed herself and told catra "you're welcome."

Goose tries framing Jax's abstraction as “tragic” and presenting it as a “cautionary tale” about what happens when you repress and isolate yourself and reject all help from those around you. However, after her death, we see how much happier everyone becomes because they no longer have to tolerate her abuse and trauma to their detriment. Granted, if Goose hadn’t been afraid of holding Jax accountable, the rest of the cast would've been free of her bullshit sooner, but I digress.

Honestly, Jax's suicide shows how much of a cancer she was on the group because, by dying, no one has to suffer her abuse and has to endure her ruining their happiness for her amusement. Even Pomni, who still visits her, does better since she no longer devotes time trying to save her. Jax's abstraction feels less like a tragedy and more like a mixture of an escape from potential consequences and a quality improvement of life for everyone else.

Herb and Bojacks fight in The Telescope really changed who I am tbh

Herb refusing to forgive Bojack and telling Bojack he needs to live for the shitty things that he did for the rest of his live is amazing. You don’t deserve forgiveness just because you apologized, you can’t assume that everyone is going to forgive you, you have to do better. Oh and now I’m thinking of the Todd and Bojack fight. Anyways this show handled a lot of topics well, including the topic of trauma and forgiveness. Bojack hurt so many people, and it’s their choice to forgive him. Forgiveness is a choice and it’s completely valid to choose to not forgive.
