Hey so FYI, black fans shouldn’t have to hide/shy away from their fandoms. They shouldn’t have to feel ashamed to be black in fandom spaces. They shouldn’t have racist remarks / people downplaying racism thrown at them everywhere they go in a fandom. There should be more hype for black-ran indie shows and creations.

If you disagree, then maybe you should look into yourself and fix that.

criticising tadc makes me feel like I'm going insane. Like. Am I the only one who saw what gooseworx and co did??? Am I the only one who saw that weird ass scene with gangle and Jax??????? am I the only one who saw ANYTHING???

WHY did we forget about this

everything goose and co did is written off as ‘jokes.’ because it’s funny to joke about hurting women if you make it ‘ironic’ (joke stops being funny after the first 3 times, goose!), and it’s funny to mock the n word. and listen, i understand the cast can change in so many years, but gooseworx really needed to address the issue instead of just going ‘racism bad.’

also oh my god i hate that scene with jax and gangle. no warning for it, just a scene of somebody trying to come on to someone by taking advantage of a severe manic episode played for what i assume to be ‘laughs.’ that scene makes me feel gross, especially because it isn’t directly addressed. hate it so much. 0/10.

I think the best way to figure out if a joke someone has made is in poor taste/offensive/indicative of a persons beliefs is to ask yourself if you would ever make that joke like that, and if you answer no, what the reason is why you'd never repeat the joke.

For example, let's say you see a joke about a racial slur

I personally would never make a joke like that, because I don't find racial slurs to be funny.

So this means that the person who made the joke clearly thought racial slurs, in some messure, are fun to joke about.

I like to call this the "Drunk Uncle at Thanksgiving test"

Would this sound funny if your drunk conservative uncle said it after a couple beers? And more importantly, would you tell this joke to your friends/coworkers when you're back at school the next Monday.
