Mai looked over at her friend puzzled for a moment but then she smiled and leaned back to her seat, wearing her seatbelt. At Sachi’s words, she shook her head.
“Don’t worry about it, I wanted to go to the mall as well and shopping is always more fun with friends. Also I heard there will be an event there so we may catch a glimpse of it after we finish shopping.” She added humming. She tapped her fingers with the rhythm of the music as they drove through the snow.
“Plans? Well will spend them with my family an but othen that not really. Why?”
“Ohhh and event? What kind? Like a demonstration, or music or something?”
Along with Mai’s humming, Sachi began to softly as well - frustrated that they were stuck in traffic yet nonetheless, it had been her ridiculous spur of the moment decision to drag them out today.
“I don’t know”, she responded half honestly; over the past few weeks, Sachi had been thinking about something which she wasn’t sure was a good idea or not - perhaps now if she mentioned it with only one other person around her, the words she planned on saying wouldn’t result in a fit of laughter or a confused look at her suggestion.
“Maybe, we could have a friendsmas this year. I mean, I have so much work to catch up on that I told my parents I won’t be able to make it home and I was kind of looking forward to not spending my holiday season alone -- sort of.”
Biting her bottom lip, Sachi wondered if she’d perhaps said, or suggested too much.
