Tamagotchi and Digimon canonically take place in the same universe. This includes them sharing the same language:

Some other fun stuff to keep in mind. According to the anime, the first time Digimon were witnessed in the real world was the Highton View Terrace in 1995, but Digimon weren’t seen again for a long time afterward. But in late 1996, a UFO crashed into the Sumida River, carrying with it Tamagotchi that had fled their home planet after it had become drunk and uninhabitable. The Tamagotchi devices built by a professor and his assistant converted Tamagotchi into data and allowed them to live in Earth’s atmosphere. Bandai picked up the project and started mass producing and selling Tamagotchi as toys for kids. It was nearly a year later when we suddenly got the Digimon virtual pets, using the same framework as the Tamagotchi devices.

Now, I’m not saying that Digimon and Tamagotchi both actually exist, have taken over Bandai, and for years have been using the company as a way of spreading themselves around the world and keeping themselves alive. I’m just saying that’s one conclusion you could probably come to from this information.

I want to point out these tags specifically because I heavily resonate with Tachyon. I've danced my whole life, it was my only reason to live at some point, and then I suffered an ankle injury. I'm fine nowadays, I used an ankle brace for a year and now I can walk and even run sometimes, but dancing is way too risky for me to do and I'm hyper aware of how I step and move because any false movement could only make things worse. It feels like I've lost a huge part of my life and everytime I try to go back dancing I'm just reminded that any sudden move I do could threaten my mobility and independence again.
