Ellis started to laugh as he spit out the roll. “Careful there, cuz. Don’t burn yourself.”
“but it’s so good. but it’s hot so i’ll wait.” he said as he sat the treat back on the plate. “so how have you been? catch me up.”

“Oh come on, first Isaac, now you?” She slumped down in her chair before nodding. “Yep. Pulled ‘em out about a half hour ago.”
“than you are forgiven. give me.” he smiled as he took one off the plate and bit into it only letting it fall out his mouth because it was hot. “hot, hot, hot.” he said trying to cool off his mouth. he took another bite because it was good and he didn’t care.

“Okay, I know, I haven’t been home in like 2 years but you can’t be mad at me…I brought cinnamon buns.”
axel shook his head. “i don’t know if that’s going to do it.” he said folding his arms against hi chest. he looked at the dessert. “is it hot.. freshly baked.”

Pete glanced around before looking back at him. “You could say things happened in the last few weeks of last year and now I have ended up acting how I used to years ago.”
“hm, well if you know that you’re doing whatever it is that you’re doing why not try and do something about it? I mean you already been through it before and you know where it’s going to lead you and how it makes you feel so why not fight your way out of it.”

Pete was taken by surprise when he heard someone reply to him. He looked at Axel and sighed. “Is it that obvious.” He said to him. Pete walked over. “I guess I have had better starts to the year.” He told him.
“well what has put a damp on this year?” he asked him.

Pete seemed happy to people he worked with and people who knew him, but was it how he really felt. He had fallen back into how he had been before. Before he met Addison and Violet. When he would go out and end up taking a woman home. Even if he had only just met her. He hadn’t done this for years. Between some time before Christmas and now he had taken quite a few women home. “Great way to start the new year.” Pete said to himself, not thinking about anyone around him hearing him.
Axel was waiting for his uncle surgery to be over so he can ask how the research was going about his hopefully soon to be surgery. He waited in his wheelchair drinking hot chocolate when he heard a voice. he looked around to see if he was going crazy because he didn’t see anyone. he backed up his wheelchair to see another doctor. “well your face is saying something totally different.” he told him after taking another sip of his drink.

“I know..it’s awful. I feel so bad for Carrie’s daughter and brother.” She murmured before shaking her head. “It’s why I want to watch Star Wars and Halloweentown.”
“Wait. Who is Carrie’s daughter and bother? Actually i’m not sure if I want to know. No don’t tell me, I don’t want to know anymore and okay. Star Was and Halloweentown it is but it’s going to take like two nights you know that right?

“I could never forget, handsome.” Deanna said with a shake of her head. “Yeah…pretty sad. Her mom was Debbie Reynolds. She played Aggie Cromwell in Halloweentown.”
“Wait. Wait. Wait.” He said holding his hands up. “Grandma Aggy! Grandma Aggy! Just a day after her daughter? Wow. That some crazy ish.”

“Oh please, I could never hate you. Carrie Fisher played Princess Leia.”
“Well. Just remember that you said that.” Axel mouth dropped once we realized who Carrie was. “What! Princess Leia died! Are you serious? Who was her mother?”
deannamkarev:
“Carrie Fisher died yesterday…and her mom died today. So that’s what I’m gonna be watching.”
“I’m sorry but who is Carrie Fisher? Her name sounds familiar. Don’t hate me, but I’m really not good when it comes to celebrities. Never bring out on celebrity trivia night.”

“Do me a favour? Next time I decide to go for a run, remind me to do it on a treadmill? At least until summer.”
“Hmm, I’ll think about it. Looks like you had a really nice run though.” He chuckled.

“Do you know what really sucks? When you get a few bottles of wine and boxes of chocolate as a present from your patients for Christmas and you can only have the chocolate. Give me a two days and I will look like a whale.” Meredith murmured.
“Wait, so are you saying that you’re pregnant?”

“I need to have a Star Wars marathon followed by a Halloweentown marathon.”
Axel shook his head. “That’s a weird combination. I’m not watching that.” He said confused. “And why do you look like someone kicked your puppy?”

“You can make it ten more days and get the gift then, silly boy.” She said with a shake of her hand, resting her head against his shoulder. “How’re you feeling?”
“Oh besides me slowly dying? Great I feel alive.” He said sarcastically. “You?” He asked his best friend.

“You are handling it way better than I thought you would have. I am good. I cannot complain too much.” She smiled.
“That or I just know how to hide it very well.” He said giving her no expression in his tone or face at all. “Well that’s always good to hear. Ready for the holidays? “ He asked

Deanna laughed and shook her head, taking a seat on his lap and ruffling his hair. “You can wait ten days.”
He swat her hand away. “Leave my hair alone and no I won’t. I feel myself slowly decaying.”
