There's an open pit in the middle of our office plan that drops down into a bunch of very sharp spikes that kill you instantly. This is bad. People keep falling in there and dying. Someone put a sign up, the other day, all bright yellow so you can't miss it, that says "Beware!!! Spikes!!!"

The office immediately split into two factions over it. One says that if anyone falls in the spike pit it's their own fault for being so stupid and not watching where they're walking, so we should remove the sign. The other says that the sign is an insult, there shouldn't be a spike pit in our office at all, and having the sign up like that is just normalising the existence of the spike pit, so we should remove the sign.

We ended up removing the sign. Probably for the better. Still... for a while there it looked like it might have worked...

I think it could be fun to make a tabletop rpg campaign set in like a neighborhood of Chicago that has been teleported into another dimension.

The players would have to find and fight demons in the cemetery, city streets, an abandoned Greystone, an old college lecture hall and the city beach to get that part of the city back into earth

It would start with the players at a gay bar being given several items by a strange man and an earthquake following after they grab the items, after the quake they leave the bar to see stars in a purple sky and are able to see the skyline, making it clear something has changed. The city is now in a perpetual night, several bats are flying across the dark city, and the streets are quite without cars coming in and out from the rest of the city. Somehow the trains still run, and the streetlights are on, but if you go to far, the train teleports back to the otherside of the roughly 3.25 mile long strip. If you walk to the edge, all you see is the vastness of space and yet cars still sometimes enter carrying goods for the shops and groceries but that is all that enters and the trucks lack drivers
