honestly, this scene was just the perfect quintessence of the devious duo.
because. most deuteragonists have something that sets them apart from others. a synonym that can be used to describe them. lomedy is a farmer; theo is the minecart pvper; egg has a good few of them, from a scholar to a fisherman. [*expect: reina—kind of—but she debuted only a few videos ago. and wifies—again, kind of—during the 1st season, but that is more complicated and a conversation for another occasion.]
what about mapicc? who is mapicc? we know nothing about him. while most protagonists could describe the interests, personality and habits of their friends, the same cannot be said for spoke. we know nothing about mapicc except for the fact that he hangs around spoke.
what's more, we know more about jumper only because she has appeared in other povs before. ever since she got closer to spoke, every time she tried to do something different than he wanted, to go in a different direction, their relationship became strained. it is something mapicc has learned a long time ago and just became spoke's follower.
from the start spoke was seeing mapicc more of a tool than a friend; it's just that in his dictionary these words mean the same. mapicc is his to use, is his to abandon. no matter how sad this is, this one moment perfectly sums up this two-year friendship. the most important things for spoke are his goals.
