LIFE UPDATE & NEW BLOG

Hello everyone! I feel since I haven’t been on in a little while, and I’m making a looot of life changes that perhaps an update was in order.

First off, in terms of my personal life, I’m finally beginning to get things back on track. My relationship is fixed, better than ever in fact. My boyfriend and I are closer and more open with each other than we ever have been, I think. All I have to sort is my credit card debt, and we’ll be able to look at moving in together somewhere in town.

Next is FFXIV. I have had such an on-off relationship with this game that it feels almost a hollow threat to say I’m giving it up for good, but I am this time. Over the past 3 years, this game has provided me with such joy and I’ve met so many good friends through it. However, there’s always another side to that, and too many times I’ve allowed myself to fall too deep and lose sight of my real-life priorities. I need to distance myself from the game once and for all, to make a clean break and start fresh.

With that in mind, I have made the scary decision to move on to a new blog. This is for several reasons, mostly because it’s much easier to start over by actually starting over, rather than going through and trying to adapt what has always been a FFXIV-centric blog into a personal/art blog. It also means I get to start over without having to go through and unfollow the hundreds of porn blogs I follow at the moment. They’re nice and all, but not so much when I’m terrified to open Tumblr in public in case hardcore gay fucking pops up while I’m on a crowded bus.

To those of you who choose to follow me there and stay with me, I appreciate you and your friendship so much, even if we’ve never spoken past reblogging each others’ posts. 3. Azana and Shibo

However, his interest in the feed was much greater than his desire to race, and after several raids on the food stores, it was decided he wa s a lost cause. Of course, I accepted my new companion with joy, for though he is greedy, this one proves to be a jolly soul. Whether or not I will be able to curb his obsessive hunger is yet to be revealed...’

This is fucking sickening. White gay men constantly erase and dehumanize black gay men by making these asinine comparisons. Queer is used in a derogatory way but it is also used in a reclamation way. Nigger is ALWAYS an offensive term because it’s an offensive word and it always has been. No black person “identifies” as a nigger, and you can see his racist bias at how we supposedly “litter” the media with rap music.

Fuck this racist bottom and fuck white gays that continue to erase black gay people for the sake of needing something to compare their struggle to. Whether it’s white gays or white vegans, they’re ALWAYS comparing the treatment of animals or homophobia to lynching, slavery, and anything in general that the black community has suffered through, as if BLACK GAY PEOPLE DON’T EXIST.

It is not your place as white gay men to comment on the word nigger, you don’t tell us what is and isn’t racist. Just like how straight people don’t get to decide what is and isn’t homophobic.

While I completely agree with the outrage at his comments, because they are completely out of line and offensive, that’s not representative of all white people within the community. I am a white gay man who loves all people, and understands that each of us has our own identities and cultures, and that they should all be celebrated. I also understand that there are far worse things that have happened to different groups in the past (and that still happen now) than myself, and that I have no place to be telling someone else what is and isn’t offensive to them. Please don’t lump people like me in with this utter asshole.

On a different note, when are we going to stop throwing the word bottom around like it’s an insult? Why does someone’s role in their own sexual relationship have anything to do with whatever else they do? Roughly half the gay men around are bottoms, it’s kinda how it works. It’s not a negative thing, and certainly nothing to be used to put someone down. When will we stop living in a world where the reaction to discrimination is to retaliate by completely generalising another group of people? There’s no need for it.

PSA to white mages from your friendly neighborhood dark knight

When you got a dark knight in your party and they do a huge pull. and during this pull you see this lovely icon

that one right there. That pink and slightly purple and black thing. You know what that is? Blood Price. Essential skill to every huge pull for a dark knight. Now, what’s Blood Price do?

Oh. Hum. Restores partial MP when damage taken. Wait lemme zoom in on this.

Wait. Bit more.

So Blood Price restores partial MP when damage is taken. Although your dark knight shouldn’t be standing in AOE, auto attacks from monsters restore your MP every time they smack you around. During massive pulls, these auto attacks from all these mobs restore your mana to full. Which allows you to properly spam your aggro skills to mitigate these mobs.

Well you wanna know why?

Because almost 9 times out of 10 during these huge pulls when a DRK has Blood Price up, a WHM will run in and Holy everything. 

Now WHMs, what’s Holy do?

Right, let’s zoom in as before.

What happens when mobs are stunned? 

They don’t move. They don’t attack.

What happens when a DRK has Blood Price up and all the mobs are stunned?

You guessed it. YOUR DRK’S MANA IS DEPLETING. 

I understand you want to help. This is good. I encourage this. But please, for the love all that is holy (badumptiss) PLEASE WAIT TO HOLY AFTER YOU SEE BLOOD PRICE FALL OFF YOUR DARK KNIGHT.

Its almost as if White Mages spent two years being shouted at to Holy spam during large group pulls or something. Two years of conditioning that not Holy spamming is bad means that its VERY DIFFICULT for a lot of White Mages to pull themselves out of that habit when running with a new Tank that suddenly needs to get hit in order to restore MP. I get that it might be frustrating, but talking to White Mages like they’re stupid when they’re having to deal with some ridiculous new Tank ability that’s less than a year old is a bit eyeroll inducing.

Like, if it’s THAT big of a problem for you, perhaps make a macro announcing that you’re going to pop Blood Price that you use during large pulls. That way your White Mage doesn’t somehow go and mess it up for you.

This. As a WHM I have always had it drummed into me that my holy spam = more dps and less healing required because of the stuns. Unless you ask me to not holy in the dungeon (preferably without talking to me like I’m 5) I probably won’t clock that you’re using Blood Price.
