Drawing every day is doable, but making presentable work every single day is SO FRUSTRATING and it quickly becomes unenjoyable... for me at least!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I've never completed an art challenge. Okay, fine maybe a lil bit!! Can we talk about that horrible feeling of letting yourself down because you couldn't stay committed to a prompt? I've participated in a couple of inktober challenges and a 30-day project, the farthest I got was day 15, so halfway through.
I feel guilty for posting on and off but these breaks in between really do make a difference. Here are some things I learned from burnout & art block:
Take a walk when things get overwhelming
Poop out ur shitty drawings to get to the good stuff
Plan ahead!!! there's nothing wrong with a head start, or at least thumbnail/sketch it out
USE REFERENCES FOR EVERYTHING
Get a second opinion (regarding anatomy) take a step back to look at your work, flip it, & ask someone you trust for feedback
Hope this was helpful! Whenever I hop back into posting my art on social media it feels very stressful seeing the follower count fluctuate and likes begin to get lower. I have to remind myself that each post is for my development, and the OG's will always pull through with support, I appreciate you!!

I decided to "label" depression w/ cloudy & anxiety w/ rowdy bc I've noticed these are the 2 character tropes I tend to draw & relate to. Drawing has always been therapeutic for me, and I think it can help others even if you "suck at drawing".
