I feel so bad for little me.
It's been ages since I was small and I think it's because of stress and survival mode but they deserve to exist too and it's hard

i feel so defensive and protective of people with ARFID like if i had a disorder that made my brain register 90% of food as poison for no reason and i had a bazillion people on the internet constantly calling me a manchild who needs to just grow up and stop being a picky eater i would start killing people
people with ARFID and people with very few autism safe foods and people with contamination OCD and people in ED recovery and everyone else with a complicated relationship with food that no one takes seriously GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!
Isopods are so cool
only real ones know you gotta clap really hard to keep the demons away
happy pride from some stretchy and sleepy cats <3
it's very important that disabled people are allowed to make bad decisions actually. that we're allowed to do things which cause flare-ups. that we're allowed to take a risk and get it wrong. that not every single second of our day has to be about playing it safe and being well-behaved and staying within our limits
and on the days when we deal with the consequences of those mistakes and bad decisions we're still worthy of a) sympathy and b) pain relief. just as we are if our illness or disability is the result of our choices in the first place
also tbh sometimes it is MEDICALLY important that you take risks and fuck it up because playing it safe can cause "safety" to shrink. can convince your brain that everything outside of those bounds is forbidden. can increase your body's response to threat because everything unfamiliar becomes threat because you've taught it that it's not allowed to do those things because they're dangerous. and if they're dangerous then they're painful and the pain gets worse and the limits get smaller and your life SHRINKS
this is not true of all conditions (for some, pushing through can have a lasting negative impact, i'm not disputing that) but maybe trust people to know whether it's true for their own condition and allow them the autonomy to weigh up the risk and the benefit
just gonna drop this here also to point out that this is not a new concept
and if/when someone makes the "wrong/bad" decision and it goes wrong, they deserve the same care than if they were abled or one of the "well behaved" disabled people
You know, there's this cliché that teenage boys always eat massive amounts, but teenage girls really aren't that different if they're not suppressed by diet culture and body shaming. Like, I was a teenage girl who frankly just stopped bothering to fit into mainstream beauty ideals at some point, and I would regularly make myself just one big massive pot of pasta and devour it completely. This wasn't even stress eating or anything, I just genuinely needed the energy because you know, I was a teenager and my body was developing. I feel like so many teenage girls think they need to eat as little as possible to be petite and pretty, but the truth is that your body is developing just as intensely as teenage boys' bodies. Eat more, please, your body needs it.
Imagine having a father *dabs*
Happy Father's Day to everybody I've ever called daddy because y'all know it wasn't my blood father! Lmao
i hate ai and the government
Life is just suffering with some fun bits sprinkled in. Life is hell. I cant sleep without nightmares, my brain is an asshole, the government sucks so fucking badly and everything hurts!
I am sincerely trying to maintain my tether to this life and the earth but JFC everything sucks
aw babes, wish I could say it gets better but that would be a lie (slightly British accent)
Constantly bouncing between hoping they heal and hoping they hurt for the things they took from me. I guess I still have a ways to go
ever wanna just
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I pull up my slide show. The first slide says “I do not want to financially support the Church of the Latter Day Saints in any way”. There are murmurs of agreement and approval from the room
Next slide. “Brandon Sanderson is a member of the LDS”. The muttering has changed tone
“It’s not a very big amount of money though.” Someone in the audience pipes up. “His cut is only a small fraction of the cost of the book, and then-“ my next slide shows an income breakdown, it is titled ‘a small fraction of $10,000,000 is still a big number’
I’m sweating. The following slides explain tithing rules. The vibe of the room has shifted. I start to doubt I’m getting out of here alive
My soul simply yearns for more bugs, alas I do not have $50. Shame.
So.... Tips on finding a sugar daddy? Lmao even though I'm more or less sex repulsed I'll send nudes for the bugs lmao
I always think of the description I saw years ago: Self-imposed deadlines don't help me, because I know the person who set them, and they're full of shit.
Kinda wild how most people generally recognize that the "too sick to go to school, too sick to watch tv/play games" mindset our parents had was bullshit but still impose essentially the exact same rules on disabled adults and scrutinize them for enjoying low-energy hobbies while being too fatigued or in pain to work a full time job (or any job at all)
wait a fucking second you're right hold on *drops rock (of internalized ableism)*
