it is absolutely time for white allies to have uncomfortable ass conversations with their racist parents and friends and neighbors. it is absolutely time for you to speak tf up in class when someone says something racist or misogynistic or homophobic. the social justice movement has been built almost entirely by black women. it is time for white allies to step the fuck up and educate themselves and have difficult conversations with the people around them that say intolerant things.
i doubt there are any liberals reading my blog but if you’re there and you’re seeing your friends yell at nonvoters and third-party people or you’re tempted to do so yourself please take a step back, breathe a bit, calm down, and reconsider.
you were not failed by leftists tonight. you were failed months ago by a democratic party that ran a republican in blue clothing, by politicians who schemed and strategized and thought that a racist populist would be easy to beat, by the thousands of rightists or racists or fascists (or really all three) who went out and voted for trump even when nobody expected them to (the failure of the forecasts is another story)
a lot of people lost a usa that they thought they could believe in tonight. if you want it back, organize, build our own movement, our own power, and fight for it. the rich ain’t gonna give it to you

For all my fellow leftists, be cautious when using social media to organize and mobilize. The United States government has tracked leftist movements by their online activity before and will certainly do so again. Also, for leftists who are planning to organize and mobilize on college campuses, be cautious of who you allow into your movement. Always be on your guard. Remember what happened with COINTELPRO. Stay safe.
anyway voting within the context of American government is largely a way to feign participation in a structure whose body has continued largely interrupted in descent from colonial hierarchy and which traces itself back to British imperialism while itself extending an imperial body outwards and more recently turning towards violent globalization to control flows of capital while stirring up reactionary violence to inflict wounds upon itself that are used to justify the violence in question so like fuck this election shit lol
me: yeah im kinda (selfishly) scared of what will happen for me and some people i care about if trump wins- namely that the social programs my family needs to survive will be slashed even more brutally than they already have been; we would be homeless rn without my dad’s social security and my mom’s pension, and the only access i have to the psychiatric treatment i desperately need atm is through medicaid. but despite the fact that the republican party is openly pushing for an end to social welfare programs, those same things could just as easily happen under democrats- just with different justifications given for it. in the meantime, every single issue i care about as a leftist that doesnt personally affect my daily life as a white american- police brutality, the prison industrial complex/modern slavery, an increasingly militarized state and curtailing of our supposed “liberties” in the name of counterterrorism, overseas imperialism- will either continue unchanged or worsen under clinton. none of these issues will ever be addressed under our current system, and it seems utterly callous and reactionary for me to say clinton is an acceptable option, while black people are being incarcerated at significantly higher rates due to clinton’s “super predator” policies, and non-americans are being literally murdered by actions that clinton has supported in the past and will no doubt continue to sign off on as president, leading to thousands more dead. there’s no outcome to this election i can back in good conscience. and given the amount of voter tampering and manipulation ive seen thus far, im not even sure it makes any difference whatsoever. ive seen too much of us politics to actually believe average citizens have any democratic power through our current system. so idk. i probably wont vote
clinton supporters:
When I was starting out, it was really hard. I tried to do things like turn down auditions I thought were stereotypical. That sort of thing, small as it was, was difficult. Now it seems like I don’t even have to make those decisions anymore. People understand what I do.
do british people really eat beans on toast as a meal
in america is everyone ignorant
it was just a question damn no need to get hostile go eat some beans on toast
“so who are you voting for, the war criminal who hides her racism well or the blatantly racist dude who WANTS to be a war criminal”
“YOU MUST VOTE FOR [CANDIDATE] OR ELSE IT’S A VOTE FOR [OTHER CANDIDATE] AND THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE WILL BE DESTROYED!!!”
*proceeds to make no mention whatsoever of any political action outside of useless electoral politics*
Are you both really that clueless? Or are you just more privileged white boys who would never be on the receiving end of Trump’s opressive policies?
“there have never been any non-white radicals who weren’t men. all leftists who call for an end to the sham of electoral democracy are white men, even when they’re not white and not men. even when they are people like Lucy Parsons (a black woman), Rosa Luxemberg (a Jewish woman), Emma Goldman (also a Jewish woman), Angela Davis (a black woman), Assata Shakur (a black woman), Dorothy Day (a woman who applied her catholic faith toward helping the poor and abolishing the state), and the immense number of women taking part in the Rojavan project (Kurdish women who adhere to Islam in large proportions, as well as international volunteers from all over the world). nope, there has never been a non-white, non-male person who’s ever taken an anti-electoral, directly democratic stance toward politics. anyone who says so was lying and, in reality, privileged”
