Energy and culture.
I hate to say this but I think this brand of low-frequency stoner culture that we are seeing infiltrate music, art and other popular movements is a symptom of bioenergetic insufficiency.
“Brooo.. [insert some platitude presented as original advice]”
When a people are running out of mental energy to organize their thoughts, their expressions progressively take on a crude form - one closer to reflex than thought.
All solemnity and sincerity of the spoken word and action becomes irrelevant in the cultural discourse.
Only gestures and platitudes can then convey anything at all - as we see with this modern menace of one-liners and mic-drop responses that have seemingly crept up across all social media, or of virtue signalling and identity politics.
