super 17 is never quite himself, even when he thinks he is. the hellish version of himself and the original are always fighting for control, and when hellfire takes over, it's like he's gone manic. he's an emotional mess, not even his own sister can get him to calm down.

i have a hc where 17 and 18 are both a quarter demon twins who never had any real connection to the oddity of their bodies or the way their minds ran. they have literally no clue of what they are until gt time, where gero and myuu, plotting in hell, make hellfighter 17 who seems to have taken on those demon qualities a bit too much.

anyways they fuse and super 17 is weird demon man who doesn’t know what to make of himself but he’s stuck between loving it and hating it

i have a very love-hate relationship with kiryu ngl. what i love about him would have to be his character during the dark signer arc, and what i hate is how he just kinda. popped in during dark signers. lowkey where was a mention of him when yusei was in the facility??

(idk what OT3 is) BROtp would probably be kiryu and (crossover alert) chris/V or ryoken kogami. they’ve all done horrible things and are trying to atone for them afterwards, i think it fits

Also legit same hat about Yusaku!!! The final duels in the AU are against the CEOs of SolTech, with lifepoint damage being real damage and not recoverable even if the lifepoints are restored. Both Yusaku and Fuugen sustain permanent damage from their duels. (Yusaku losing all function in his arm, and Fuugen losing function in his eye which eventually causes it to drift over the years. Yusaku opts for amputation, while Fuugen wears eye protection for a while until eventually he feels confident enough to not anymore)

I have a concept sketch of post series designs of the characters in their 20's (I haven't gotten to Takeru yet)

Some thoughts about how damage conversion works in the AU and plot stuff about the final duel below

A lot of the concepts around how cerebral Link Vrains is interests me a lot, and how much of the damage one can have in the game can translate over to the body interpreting it as real and affecting one's functions (the main outcome of most of that canon-wise is just comas but still) Considering the beginning of the series the characters state that if you fall off your board you can die???? I wanted to put in place in the AU that SolTech in S2 put in safety measure for violence (only after Miyu and Takeru cause harm to their bounty hunters) Preventing people from inflicting any long lasting or even potentially fatal harm onto users. This aspect however is revoked in the final duel with the CEOs, with the losers to suffer what would be akin to an aneurysm. Fuugen ends up taking a direct hit targeted at his eye. Through the AU theres a lot I wanted to put in place for Yusaku and his datastorm skill, and a main running plot is a cyberse monster who is too strong for him to pull. He fails early on trying to get it for the first time, nearly costing him the duel. (Theres a bit there from the first time he failed in S1 that leaves a little bit of hesitancy in him considering he lost his arm that time.) Windy near the end of the season passes on the ability to use neo storm access, and he attempts to use it in the duel with King in order to finally gain access to the monster (which I did decide it would be Darkfluid) however King inflicts enough damage to try to prevent him from being physically capable of using his skill. Ai offers to try to convert part of himself to Yusaku like last time, but Yusaku refuses because he doesn't want to risk losing Ai, and Ai resolves to go big mode and assist with dueling with him (think Carly and Jack from 5Ds with the hospital duel)

And yes! I do plan on making references for all the rescue bots!

I don't have completed reference sheets for them yet, but I can tell you about them!

Chase: He's a young and unique bot assigned to Jazz and Prowl as a police-in-training. He's an excellent and obedient listener and loyal companion. Prowl has a hard time figuring him out, since he's never seen such an obedient bot before. Jazz thinks Chase is a bit boring, since he rarely "has fun" like Jazz does. Both of them sometimes question if Chase is even sentient or a lifeless robot. Chase is also known for his intelligence, being able to memorize hundreds of police codes and laws better than Prowl or Jazz do. He transforms into a Dodge Challenger just like Prowl.

Blades: Known for his cowardice and fear of heights, Blades was assigned to Ratchet. Sentinel had the hopes that Ratchet, being experienced in the field of medicine for years, would help Blades improve and take over the role of medic for Ratchet. However, it's not going well... Blades being utterly terrified of any sort of bl00d or any sort of surgeries. Blades tends to lack self confidence and sometimes gets angry with himself for being such a failure. Ratchet sometimes sees the frustration in his eyes and goes easy on him. He transforms into a rescue helicopter, which isn't going too well for him either.

Heatwave: Heatwave is a hot-headed young mech who wishes to work with the high command. However, he was paired up with Inferno, who he thinks is driving him away from reaching his dream. Inferno, being the reckless bot he is, and his failures on past missions, has lost Sentinel's respect, especially after Inferno lost an arm. Heatwave is ashamed and even embarrassed of having him as a mentor. Inferno however cares for the young mech, and sometimes hopes he could improve himself to help Heatwave reach his dream. He transforms into a fire truck.

Boulder: Boulder has a different story, he was assigned to assist humans with construction, after Sentinel couldn't find anyone who'd fit being his mentor. He was also assigned to watch over the constructicons, a strange group of cybertronians that were scattered around during the war and found over the years, who apparently lost their voice boxes and one of their members is still missing (Hook, who was found by Decepticons). However, they're a bit hard to control. He transforms into a bulldozer.
