Fuck The Retail Equation. Fuck Best Buy. And fuck Samsung's repair service.
So, long story short, i bought a tablet back during black friday. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 to be exact. And at first it was great -- til i saw a dead pixel. So I went back to Best Buy to exchange it. But I couldn't even do that because I got flagged and banned from making returns thanks to the many defective exchanges I did on the nexus 7 the year before. A call to Best Buy corporate fixed that issue and was able to get another tablet. When I exchanged it, i got flagged again and called corporate to let them know. After that, it seemed all was right with the world. But this new one had a stain in the screen, making viewing angles terrible. Not wanting to go through the returns debacle again (and possibly get flagged again), I made use of the manufacturer's warranty. So I called Samsung up and they had me send it in. Unfortunately they couldn't find the problem.
However, this is where things get really stupid. It turns out there was another problem ON TOP of the stupid yellow stain in the corner or whatever. I discovered that whenever the backlight is at the lowest possible brightness, it FLICKERS. Thinking this was a more obvious problem than the one I complained about previously (and to prevent being flagged for excessive returns), I sent it in to samsung in the hopes that I would finally get a perfect product.
So I sent it in a little after winter break started, and when they got it, they apparently couldn't find the problem with the screen and instead replaced the battery. I'm pretty upset by this point, so immediately after got my tablet back, I called them up and told them the problem was still there. At their request, they told me to include a note detailing exactly what the problem was (including the steps taken to reproduce the problem). So I wrote the note, boxed the tablet back up and sent it back in for repair.
Well guess what? I got a call from the rep Thursday morning telling me that they couldn't find any problems with it. Me not wanting to be one of those idiot customers, I kept calm and thoroughly explained the problem again. He said he'd give it back to the technician for reevaluation and thanked me.
Now fast foward to this afternoon and I got an email containing the Repair Statement. And you know what they said? They said, once again: "NO TROUBLE FOUND."
Look, guys, I'm really, really pissed off about this whole thing. All I wanted was a tablet that was free from any and all problems. I dared to rectify the issue by exchanging it and I got flagged because apparently exchanging defective products too many times is grounds for a 90-day return ban. And now when I decide to use the fucking manufacturer warranty, I'm being told there is no problem with my device when there IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM WITH IT???!!!
WHAT KIND OF FUCKING JOKE IS THIS? YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT I'M SUPPOSED TO ACCEPT A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND NOT WHINE ABOUT IT?! CAN I NOT HAVE A TABLET THAT IS PROBLEM FREE WHATSOEVER?! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
Fucking shit products being sold these days. I'd rather just throw the damn thing away than send it back in at this point. It's just not worth it anymore.
