Wick and I are alive and well! He is now 2 years old and really becoming a great boy. He’s a little reactive (which did not come as a total surprise given the breed), but loves people and and dogs and cats and is pretty reasonable all around. He’s become very loyal, which I did not expect but is very appreciated.

Genuinely wish someone who was good at handling and training dogs could come spend time with Wick. I wonder a lot how he’d behave with someone who is not a clown like me 😂

We took Arlowe for a beach trip right after his diagnosis and it was so encouraging to see him eagerly playing in the waves, enjoying himself and being a big sweetie. Everyone on the beach came up to tell him how beautiful he was. I choked up every time <3

My fiancé(e)’s family has a rough collie named Baru and he is lovely and also a VERY BAD DOG. He gets a ton of attention and training and playtime, but it’s never enough. This dog is of the opinion that all attention is good attention and he needs 100% of yours Right Now. He does this thing where he’ll find something that he’s not supposed to (especially laundry, clean or dirty) find the closest human, wait to be noticed, and then run for it. Over Thanksgiving he got into some chocolate (cream-filled milk chocolate, he was totally fine) and seemed delighted by the panic that ensued (his mom and sister both cried on the phone to two different poison controls before they could be calmed and assured that he would indeed be fine). A month later at Christmas, he would ignore plates of unattended food to SEEK OUT chocolate, unattended or no, just chasing the high he’d experienced last time.

Not sure it it'll make you feel any better, but I know a guy who has had multiple border collies pee on women (and possibly himself once) so you're not alone!

Hahahahha, you are right, I’m unsure if I feel ‘better’, but at least it’s not like “hey it’s because you did ______ that he pees on people”.

To be fair - I did get caught in the crossfire once, and he has absolutely peed on the head of every one of his friends. He’s disgusting

Wick!!! What a wicked boy!! And here I thought Lance peeing on someone's shoe while they were wearing it was bad!

God nope, Wick peed straight onto her jeans/thighs when she kneeled down to pet him. I was, I mean…shocked/impressed/mortified? I never thought I’d be THAT dog owner, but karma maybe. Tyson didn’t lift his leg once in 13 years; Wick seems to think it’s his destiny 😂
