Please, someone arrange for these two couples to meet at the restaurant!!!
A couple sitting next to another couple's table…
Raffles would recognize Holmes and wouldn't let this opportunity pass him by
Maybe Watson recognize Raffles? Does Watson like cricket??? Well, now he does. But not a big fan, I suppose
I don't think Raffles and Holmes they'd get along very well... BUT RAFFLE HELPING HOLMES SOLVE A CASE WOULD BE 🔥🔥🔥
We need to make this happen in a fic.
I was talking a while ago with a dear friend of mine, who loves Raffles, about how it was a shame Doyle didn't include Raffles in any of his stories
There's a lot of text here on out, but I think it could be a good idea for a fanfic.
Just imagine the two of them in a story: Raffles sneaking into a crime scene, which has occurred in one of the apartments at the Albany, because he's heard that the famous Sherlock Holmes is there. Imagine that with his reasoning skills he can follow Holmes's line of reasoning to some extent, even if he's nowhere near as good.
Imagine that he helps Holmes solve the case because he has contacts in the victim's club, allowing Holmes to gain access and obtain some kind of clue that will turn the case around and help him solve it!!
Watson will also talk about the man with the frightened, yet very pretty, face, who follows Raffles everywhere, and with whom Raffles seems to share a special affection.
"What good friends, like Holmes and me" (yeaaaah, good friends 👀)
I think the most important thing this story could have had is for Raffles to retain his charisma. That the characters of Raffles and Bunny be liked and "remembered" as characters who help Holmes, just like many other characters in his stories, such as Victor Trebor, Irene Adler, Violet Hunter…
At the end of the story, as a note from Doyle, I'll tell you that Raffles is a character with his own story, that you should go read it… ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT HE'S A THIEF IN HIS ORIGINAL STORY
I think that would have multiplied Raffles' popularity in a stratospheric way (at least as he is known now)
Yes! YES!
I think Watson would take a liking to Bunny, mostly out of pity and fatherly affection, and I absolutely adore the idea of Bunny being jealous (and also insecure) because Raffles openly admires Holmes.
Look, I'm currently writing a Holmes/Hercule Poirot crossover and a Raffles/Arsène Lupin crossover and I'm overwhelmed proper-like with Real Life Issues, and I couldn't write it on my own. But I'd be up for a collaboration in any way, shape or form with whoever wants to make it happen.
[image description: three screenshots, all showing Bunny on the right, Mackenzie on the left with the superimposed dialogue as written below. image description ends]
I love the episode "Chest of Silver" for many, many reasons one of which is that somebody wrote this bit of dialogue, and then somebody approved it, and then Christopher Strauli absolutely nailed the delivery: Bunny, speaking on the subject of Raffles: "He is my friend and the greatest man on earth!"
Mackenzie: "Is that so?"
Bunny nods vigorously.
Mackenzie: "As a cricketer maybe."
Bunny: "It's nothing to do with his cricket. He just is."
And you can see all the emotions on his face, and in his posture, and hear them in every word and the timbre of his voice. Absolutely terrific.

I like it when characters are really close friends but theyre like. Bad at friendship. like theyre not great people . theyre not necessarily always good to each other. But they are friends!! Incredibly close friends at that!!!! They're Just Not GOOD At It
“what radicalized you” bro EMPATHY
"what radicalized you" well in kindergarten they told me to share things and be nice to people.
iv been collecting raffles posts :)
Beautiful!
Also. One more thing. Now that I've finally posted my godawful long book-show comparison of Murder on the Links:
Anthony Horowitz apparently decided that the beach is a romantic enough place for Hastings and his new fiancée to kiss. Fine.
BUT ☝️I'd like to point out. That in the Russian translation of the book,
the ONLY kissing that happened at the beach was between Poirot and Hastings, thank you very much!!

Guys, have you noticed that…
BUNNY (Christopher Strauli) HAS EARRINGS???
PLEASE, tell me I'm not delusional and that you guys see it too
It's only in his right ear, there's no sign of an earring in his left
ARE YOU TELLING ME WE COULD HAVE HAD THIS???? 😭😭😭
SHIT, I forgot to say that THESE BEAUTIFUL IMAGES OF BUNNY'S FACE belong to the account:

@unwillingadventurer, I owe my life to your blog 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I never noticed it, but I am 100% willing to believe in Bunny's earrings. He would wear the tiara, he would wear the earrings, he would wear the matching dress, and he would look LIKE A FUCKING DIVA.
Remember that time Leonard Nimoy starred in a gay prison movie?

It really says something that a lot of monogamous people consider polyamorous and aromantic to be "opposites" but every polyam person I know took one look at aromantics and said "they're just like me for real"
Poly folks x aro folks in the sense that "alloromantic heterosexual monogamous people view love and sex as an entirely different entity than me, and that makes life kinda strange"
official aro-polyam solidarity post
I love to see this. Polyamory gets so much hate and it really shouldn't. So does aro/ace.
“A Trap to Catch a Cracksman” is the most ridiculously audacious story for Bunny.
Just one instance: Barney Maguire gets home at 2 AM, realizes his front door is unlocked, and walks in to find Bunny standing in complete darkness in the front hall. And Bunny’s all, “Hiiiii…. 😁You probably don’t remember me, but I met you with my friend Raffles the other day, and you said we could all be friends and we could come by your place any time. So here I am! 😇”
And Maguire’s all, “Hm. 🤨 I guess I did say that, so I have given up any moral right I might have had to say it’s weird to find him here at two in the morning when I wasn’t home. 🙄 Ok, sure, guess you can hang out, Mr-what’s-your-name.”
Yes, true and all that BUT you need to keep in mind that Bunny is like the most unthreatening human being in the entire world (apart from an actual infant), and Maguire finding him in his place in the wee hours is the equivalent of hearing a noise in the night and finding a kitten in the hallway.
"Oh, okay, the noise was just you. That's alright then."
