Every time awards season rolls around, I really want to do a celebrity plot. Two high profile celebrities that have just finished making a movie that’s nominated for a bunch of prestigious awards. They go to award shows, galas, events, etc. They spend a lot of time off screen promoting the film, doing press, running lines for future projects, etc. They’re basically together (but not really— it’s just publicity). He’s a little bit older, edgy, known for his work. She was probably a former Disney actress or did movies targeted to younger people. Then, one drunken night, the two hook up and decide to film it. Not long after, their sex tape is leaked and they still have dozens of press junkets and awards shows to attend. There’s tension, maybe some animosity over the tape leaking.
After a nuclear war left much of the earth uninhabitable, MUSE A and MUSE B were carefully selected as co-captains on a colonization mission. With a crew of twelve (NPC, or we can do a mumu) and over 900 human embryos in tow, the Orion set out into space. They were all pioneers, looking for a place to survive. No amount of training could’ve prepared for what they would find in search of their new home. Barren, diseased planets with no room for mankind. After several failed attempts and a six year stretch in stasis, the crew are desperate for a place to call home. Time will only tell. Will humans find their place, or are they done existing? (Sidenote: this is totally based off of the Alien films, especially the two newer ones. You don’t necessarily have to have seen them though! Just inspiration!)
MUSE A is a carefree, attractive young man in his early twenties. He’s passionate, impulsive, and in his final year of university. He’s in a small, college town, and desperate for a job, he starts fixing vehicles. He meets MUSE B while working on her car— a woman in her mid to late thirties. She’s married with children, but her mind always wanders back to when she was younger. She thinks of everything that could’ve been if she hadn’t gotten pregnant so young. She doesn’t love her husband anymore— in fact, she hasn’t for a long time. She knows that he’s cheating on her, and that’s why he’s gone all the time. Desperate for some sort of adventure, she turns to MUSE A, and the two begin a secret affair. He makes her laugh, fills her life with spontaneity. He makes her feel young again.
Two secret agents assigned to take each other out. Bonus points if they’re best friends, married, or exes. Think Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but maybe with a twist of some sort.
Two detectives/partners that are investigating some really sinister crime that was committed in a small town in the middle of nowhere. This is their first case together. They both bring different things to the table. Later, the criminal they’re hunting begins toying with them and inevitably starts hunting them.
