Just to give you a mild example of what the weather in Newfoundland is like, my mother was pinning out clothes & came in saying it wasn’t very warm outside at all. She goes out about 10 minutes later, comes in & says, “My glory, what a beautiful day it is out der now!”

April 18th - Still a lot of snow everywhere. Winter's are long around here, but this one has been, by far, the longest yet and with the most snow. I'm hoping that this view means spring is trying to make its way to us! -Robyn

This recipe has been around in my family for a very long time. I’m not sure who came up with it, or where they found it, but I’m so glad they did.

Every Saturday night when my Dad was home, he would make these for us to enjoy. They’re really chewy, & extremely delicious!

Eatmore Bars

3/4 cup Corn Syrup 1 pkg. Chocolate Chips 1/2 cup Peanut Butter 1/2 tsp. Vanilla 1 cup Peanuts 3 cups Rice Krispies

Melt corn syrup, chocolate chips, peanut butter, & vanilla in a pot. Add Rice Krispies & peanuts. Stir. Remove from heat, place in a lightly greased pan. Refrigerate for two hours, then cut into squares before completely hardened.

If you feel a headache coming on, before you go for some pills get a couple of cold glases of water, retreat to a place that's quiet and calm. If you don't like complete silence, then some quiet music is fine, keep away from phones and computers though. Close your eyes, lay back in your favorite soft chair, and empty your mind. Sip down the water slowly and just let go of everything.
