Exactly. I agree one hundred percent. They inspired us to become the people that we are now - and are still growing to become - and I hope that one day we can inspire others to do the same. I have so many ideas. Ryder and I were thinking perhaps we could work with some mash-ups! So, pairing people up - it’s also a secret way of making people more, per say, closer to other members of the group that they might not usually talk to. The song choices for the mash-ups haven’t been decided yet - did you have any suggestions? I know that most people appreciate getting to put forth an opinion.

Mashups, huh? I’ve been working on something that’s a Portuguese Jazz standard called ‘Corcovado’ layered over the Beatles’ ‘You Never Give Me Your Money’, but really you could mash up almost anything from Abbey Road, the album’s kind of already a mashup. We’ve got so many different personalities in the group, it’d definitely help bridge the gap... Even if some of them seriously intimidate me...  But mostly I’m down for anything? Leadership was never really my thing.

Fiiiine, fine, fine. Really? That’s pretty interesting, I didn’t know that. I do love his and Jon’s friendship. Earlier Sansa I wasn’t a fan of, but as the series went on I liked her more and more. She’s a strong person. I’d like to stick with Arya though. Margaery knows how to manipulate people and get what she wants. I respect her character. I wouldn’t like her if I knew her personally though.

She definitely improves with time. At the beginning I kind of want to grab her shoulders and shake her, but I guess she’s still just a kid. See, that’s why I don’t think you work for Margaery either, she’s always got something up her sleeve. Whereas you’re very earnest about everything you do.

While updates have been generally slow since we have returned from Hogwarts - which, I will take full blame for because, really, who knew being a prefect was so darn busy?! Nonetheless, as Rachel previously stated, Frog Choir auditions are being held on Monday. This gives you just enough time to prepare an audition piece, so you needn’t worry. If you’re debating whether or not to take that leap and audition, I assure you that it will be the greatest decision you would make. Not only is it the most rewarding club (in my opinion), it also opens you up to so many new opportunities and I urge everyone reading to consider auditioning. Even if you’re under the impression that you can’t sing, then never fear! There are so many other jobs and positions you can take, and it’s never too late to start rehearsing. 

I hope to see you all there!

We need to make this year even better than last year to make our departed alums proud. Guess there’s a lot more on the heads of the new fifth years, huh? Any ideas about what to sing?

Wow, anon, you... feel a lot more strongly about Game of Thrones than I do. Sansa gets a lot wiser over time, but at the beginning of book one she’s a bit clueless. What I was getting at is just that Gracie’s not the type of girl to fall for a Joffrey. It was supposed to be a compliment to a friend, not an insult to a fictional character, you know?

GENERAL NOTES → Needing someone to confide in, Gracie turns to Roderick. 

GRACIE:

“Never,” she agreed, wishing that blank slates and fresh starts were a real thing. “Well, not while we’re still at Hogwarts,” she added. “Though I could obliviate myself from everyone’s memories and then reintroduce myself as an exchange student from Beauxbatons or something,” she mused. “Yeah, I think I’ll just lay low for awhile. I don’t really want to be apart of the dating game again any time soon. I need to focus on my team, and classes, and all that boring stuff,” she said with a small smile. “If I die alone with only a bludger as my friend, well, I won’t be surprised,” she joked. “I wouldn’t call it interesting, but I’m glad your life is pretty much drama free. I’m sorry you and Jane broke up though. I know you really liked her,” she said with a sympathetic smile.

“Yeah, I guess so. It’s not like I’d have a problem if the roles were reversed though. Though I don’t think I’d waste time dating someone I didn’t trust completely anyway.” she half-shrugged. “I’m sure you have been, I didn’t mean it like I thought you were looking for a fight.” she assured him. “Well, having a lot of pranksters on the Quidditch team has definitely helped better my skills in the art. We could definitely prank them, I think, if you wanted to. Simple, sweet revenge in a completely harmless way.” she said, knowing that Roderick most likely wouldn’t want to honestly stoop down to their level anyway. “Do you know Blackbird? By the Beatles?” she questioned hopefully, a small smile on her lips. “Can you sing me that one?”

RODERICK: 

“You’d better not obliviate me,” Roderick chided. But it was a little more serious than his tone suggested - the idea of forgetting her, even just stated as a joke, made him uncomfortable. Hogwarts without Gracie would have been colourless. Roderick without Gracie would have been miserable. His logical brain told him that taking time from dating was indeed the best thing for her, but it made him feel faintly crestfallen, and he rebuked himself mentally for selfishness. “Look after yourself,” he told her, with a bittersweet little smile. “You deserve somebody but you don’t need somebody... andthere’ll be a lot of people competing with that bludger for your friendship, just sayin’.” He sighed. “I liked Jane, but sometimes I wonder if I ever really knew her. Kissing her was nice, but, I mean... it never felt as real as when you and I kissed-” Suddenly he realized he’d said those words aloud, and shut his mouth, turning red.

“Trust is both difficult and really really important,” agreed Roderick, with a nod. “Much more than anyone our age can probably understand... What sort of pranks?” He was sweet, but not that sweet - the idea of getting one up on his tormentors was very appealing. “Because I don’t want to hurt them, but I wouldn’t mind hurting just their pride.” He knew Blackbird like the back of his hand. Roderick got to his feet, found his guitar case where he’d left it at the foot of the bed and got out the guitar. The first chords of Blackbird filled the room.

I didn’t know I could guess! Let’s see… Madison? Marley? Bree? Kitty? I’m trying to think of cute girls that you’re friends with. Assuming that you’re friends with whoever you’re crushing on, maybe I’m even wrong about that. I’ve always loved Sam. Everyone wants to be Tyrion! Or married to him, like in my case. Robb Stark is forever my king– man, oh man, am I in love with that guy. I will never be over losing him. True, Needle and Nymeria are all I need in life. Margaery seems to know how to play the game pretty well, she’d be another character I wouldn’t mind being. 

Nice try, but I’m not saying anything, Gracie. Apparently he’s supposed to represent George R.R. Martin and I’m not sure how I feel about that either, but I do love how Jon stands up for him. Wait, Married to Tyrion? So... Sansa? You can’t be Sansa, you’re too smart and not enough of a princess. Needle, Nymeria, badass parents and an eccentric sword instructor, maybe? I never quite knew what to make of Margaery.

True, you could be… like… Viserys or something, who’s a major douchebag and no one should ever want to be ever. Arya is incredible, and even so I think I’m closer to her than I would be to Dany even though I’d want to be Dany. Plus, the Starks are my life.

I’m honestly amazed you haven’t already guessed. But no, no more hints. I guess I can get behind that initiative, I did love him when I’d got past the wincing stage over how much like me he seemed. I’d still rather be Tyrion, but that’s not happening anytime soon. Starks are life... plus Arya gets a sword, and a pet direwolf! But is there anyone else you think you might want to be?

And I don’t think you’re awkward either. I think he’s got a good heart and has courage when it counts. While it’s a huge compliment and I’d love Dany to be my counterpart, I’m probably not cool enough to be here for real. I do think Mother of Dragons is pretty Gryffindor-y though.

Guess I should stop talking then, huh? Sam’s awkward, Gracie. When they kneel to take their vows he can’t actually get up again on his own. I definitely have awkward moments but I’m not that bad.  Still,there are much worse things than being Sam. I think you’re cool enough, but you could totally be Arya instead if you wanted? She’s a little ball of awesome. And sometimes also murder.

If you have a crush on Gracie, then allow me to give you some advice. She likes tea, lots of it. And we’re not talking about the ones that come in bags. She likes to read the rest of it in the bottom of the cup. Her father is very important to her, so no matter what you think, don’t ever argue with her about who’s the best Quidditch payer. It’s gonna be Mr. Wood. Respect her on that. She isn’t impressed by expensive gifs. If you want to please her, give her something meaningful. She likes to sing, but hates when you’re not genuine about her music. If she asks or your opinion, you give it. Don’t call her Grace, she doesn’t like it, instead come up with a nickname. She’ll appreciate it much more. Her hair is auburn, not red and her eyes are hazel, not green. Sometimes, she doesn’t think much of herself, so it’s your duty to assure her the contrary. Be sincere. She’ll know when you’re not being. Sometimes, a lot of times, she might frustrate you and make you mad. Love her anyway. Now, after hearing this, if you choose to continue to like her, here comes the most important advice: Make her happy. You’ll think you’ve never seen something as beautiful as her, but when you see her smile, then you know for sure you’re hopeless. She deserves to be happy, Meeks. And I hope, if she retributes your feelings, you’re able to do that.

You’re right, it’s an acquired bad habit. You start to feel like it’s what you deserve.

...Wow. I, uh. I’m not totally sure what to say. I know her well enough to tell that all that advice is true, and really wise, Piers. Especially about loving her anyway and reminding her what she’s worth. But I don’t know how she feels, I don’t know if a relationship would do her more harm than good right now... And it makes me sad. Hearing all that. You two had something beautiful and I’m so sorry that it didn’t work out and I just feel awful even getting anywhere close to it. Wouldn’t it hurt? Seeing her with me?
