Oh gosh, I actually have to come up with propaganda because I said I would--oops. (Jk, jk.)
As her name suggests, Coleus is named after a species of plant that are sometimes also called spurflower, flybush, hedgehog flowers, or hullwort! They're definitely normally cultivated as ornamental plants--I grow them every year! HOWEVER, you can also eat the tubers of some species, and some supplements are also made from them as well. It's a member of the mint family!
Is an Ancient of the Petrified Ruins. Ergo: she was around before Darnell was ever even there! This isn't something she likes to talk about, as she's always been rather reclusive. Has always lived in the Shrieking Wilds, and it very much shows.
Her design is based off of a hyena! She's got a slightly more hunched back for that kind of sinister look, but has something very interesting: two very tiny arms at her sides that might just have you mistaking her for an Everlux at first. They're mostly just there, but she can grasp at things with them/use them a bit for stabilization during climbing. Gets mistaken for Cicada sometimes, and does not care for that.
Because of the hyena design, I absolutely believe she can and does vocalize like one. It probably sounds raspier and wilder, but their whoops and cackles are an endless delight to me so I incorporated it into her as well. Her voice, I imagine, is softer than one would think. And to say it sends a chill up your spine would probably be an understatement.
The specific type of Coleus that makes up her accent, I like to think, is called the Le Freak! If she knew what those were, she'd probably agree. >:]
Her Carnivore gene has me thinking she can create a numbing miasma breath. Probably one that also causes some massive hallucinations--and may just start the petrification process for smaller species of dragons. Darnell is infinitely fascinated with it, and often gets her to offer up some samples for research.
If anyone wants to know anything else about her, I can most certainly answer any questions. :') She's my special little gremlin. Happy dragon-ing! I'll be watering my angry plant, hehehe.
