📖 2 Corinthians 4:1–6 (KJV)
“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, you have a ministry. It may not be a pulpit ministry, but it is a life ministry — a daily calling to reflect Jesus wherever you are.
Paul reminds us, “we have this ministry, as we have received mercy.”
What a humbling truth: God, in His mercy, chose broken people like us to carry His message of grace. This ministry is not a task for the talented or the perfect. It is a sacred trust given to the forgiven.
Remember that the ministry is not ours, it belongs to the Lord. We are only stewards of it, called to serve with humility and endurance.
📖 1 Timothy 1:12 (KJV) “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.”
Ministry matters not because of who we are, but because of Who called us. If God has enabled us, then He will sustain us. If He has called us, then He will equip us.
📖 2 Corinthians 4:1–2 (KJV “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
There will be moments when serving feels heavy, when prayers go unanswered, people misunderstand, and strength runs thin. But remember: we faint not, because mercy found us first.
The same mercy that saved you is the same mercy that keeps you standing.
📖 Luke 18:1 (KJV) “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”
When you’re weary — pray.
When your heart aches — pray.
When you feel unseen — pray.
Prayer revives the spirit and renews your perspective.
📖 2 Corinthians 4:16 (KJV) “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
Don’t let the noise of the world drown out the voice of God. Don’t let temporary struggles make you forget eternal truths. The ministry will test your endurance, but it will also deepen your dependence on God.
Remember you are not serving for applause, you are serving for the Lord. Like Paul, you must be grateful because God put you into His ministry that others cannot, it is a great privelege to serve our living and faithful God.
📖 Galatians 6:9 (KJV) “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
When it feels like your labor is unseen, remember God sees. And that is enough and what actually matters.
📖 2 Corinthians 4:3–4 (KJV) “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
There is no greater tragedy than a hidden gospel. When we compromise truth, when we blend in with darkness, we make the light dimmer for those who desperately need to see it.
Satan blinds the eyes of many, don’t let your silence help him.
📖 Ezekiel 3:17–18 (KJV) “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning… his blood will I require at thine hand.”
We are watchmen of the gospel. Our lives must reflect Christ, not conceal Him. If our gospel is hid, it’s not because the light has gone out, but it’s because we’ve covered it with compromise.
Let your words, your work, and your worship all point to Jesus.
Don’t hide His image and don’t hinder the true blessing from the truth with your bad testimonies, let it shine instead.
Matthew 5:16 KJV Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
🙇♂️ PREACH NOT OURSELVES
📖 2 Corinthians 4:5 (KJV) “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
Ministry is never about spotlight, it’s about surrender. It’s not about our names being known, but about His name being lifted high.
📖 John 3:30 (KJV) “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
In every song, every sermon, every act of service, may the focus always be Jesus. Remember that we are not the message; we are only the messengers given the privilege to carry and to pass it on to the needy.
📖 1 Corinthians 9:16 (KJV) “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”
If the ministry truly matters, then our motive must be pure and our message must be Christ, not ourselves and not our pride.
📖 2 Corinthians 4:6 (KJV) “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
The same God who spoke light into the darkness of creation now shines through you. You are His lamp in this dark world, not because of your strength and ability, but because of His presence.
Dear Christian, ministry is not a burden, it’s a blessing. It’s not about perfection, it’s about perseverance. You may feel small, unseen, or unworthy, but remember: the Lord who called you is faithful.
📖 Colossians 3:23 (KJV) “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
If you’ve grown tired, renew your heart.
If you’ve been discouraged, refocus your eyes on Jesus.
If you’ve been distracted, return to your first love.
You have this ministry. Don’t faint. Don’t hide. Don’t preach yourself.
Serve with passion. Shine with purpose. Live for Christ.
Friend, the gospel is not just a message, it is the light that can bring you out of darkness.
📖 John 8:12 (KJV) “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Satan, the god of this world, blinds hearts and minds. But Jesus came to open the eyes of the lost.
He is calling you today, not to religion, but to a relationship with Him.
📖 Romans 10:9 (KJV) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
The same God who caused light to shine in the darkness can now shine in your heart. Come to Him today. Don’t wait for tomorrow.
